I visited the restaurant late on Saturday night. Most of the surrounding shops were closed, and it was mainly crowded with tourists. Because of that, the food took a long time to come out. The restroom was also very dirty. There was a rule that parents with children were not allowed to enter the restaurant.

A flashy and conspicuous restaurant located about 3 minutes from Tsutenkaku Tower. It is open 24 hours, making it a convenient stop for those taking overnight buses to Osaka. This time, I visited during lunchtime and was able to enter without waiting, although the spacious interior was almost full. When it comes to Yokozuna, think of Yokozuna-sized beer. The beer served in an extra-large jug is exceptional! It is so heavy that you can't hold it with just one hand. They also offer Yokozuna-sized soft drinks, perfect for staying hydrated in the summer. There are plenty of menu items that allow you to experience the essence of Osaka. Additionally, they have a menu for those who are up for a challenge with their oversized portions, although I have not tried it myself!

After leaving the breakfast udon shop, you'll come across this place right away. Well, it's quite flashy. And here, they also serve early morning highball cocktails! The standard here is the beef skewers. They are all freshly fried and taste delicious. I wonder if the pickled ginger here is desalted? In Kyushu, the pickled ginger served with dishes like gyudon is usually quite salty, but here it's more mild and easy to eat. The asparagus had a nice sweetness to it and was really tasty. If you go to Shinsekai, you won't miss this very flashy restaurant. How about enjoying some skewers with a glass of beer early in the morning? Thank you for the meal!

There were a lot of people from overseas. It was a type of place where you order with a QR code, but I kept getting a message saying "it's outside of business hours," so I had to ask the nearby waitress for help. She said, "I'll make sure you can order next time," but it still didn't work. I had to call her again, and finally managed to place an order. It was a hassle. Also, I realized that I don't really like sauce. I'm okay with takoyaki being sweet and savory, but I discovered that I don't like sauce on kushikatsu.

When it comes to kushikatsu, Shinsekai is the place to go. The combination of beer and kushikatsu is unbeatable. The area around Tsutenkaku Tower is filled with foreign tourists, making it feel like a festival. Daruma was too crowded, so we went to a nearby shop. It's impressive that they are open 24 hours. I'd love to try a Kushikatsu All Night Day event at least once. This shop had a variety of menu items, likely targeting foreign tourists. Osaka's business spirit is truly amazing! The kushikatsu was delicious, especially when dipped in plenty of sauce and washed down with beer. I would love to come back again! It was delicious, thank you for the meal!

I arrived a little earlier than my reservation time, but they were quick to accommodate us despite our group of 8 people, which was much appreciated. Everything was affordable and delicious. They offer a variety of menu items such as udon noodles and light sashimi dishes, which was great. The only downside was that the seating was a bit cramped, and I kept bumping into the person behind me. But I understand that it may be unavoidable given the location.

Tonight, three of us from work decided to go out for a drink, and we ended up choosing to go to a "kushikatsu" (deep-fried skewers) place. We went to "Yokozuna Tsutenkaku" in Shinsekai. We ordered using a QR code, starting with a toast with draft beer and plum wine soda. For food, we had a mixed kushikatsu platter, dashimaki (rolled omelette), edamame, and more. We chatted and laughed over trivial things, and casually ordered more drinks. We also had individual kushikatsu skewers, yakisoba, and finished with onigiri (rice balls). It was so much fun!

- Skewered cutlet with cheese, pickled ginger, specialty skewered cutlet (beef octopus), white fish, chocolate banana - New World's famous doteyaki - Stamina horse sashimi - Green onion and grated yam teppanyaki - Draft beer, shochu highball, etc. The interior of the restaurant is crowded with tables, but it has a bright and lively izakaya atmosphere that I like. The customers include families, couples, and groups of friends. Eating skewered cutlets with a beer during the day makes me happy. The doteyaki is delicious. I also saw some people ordering the megasized dishes like potato fries and fried takoyaki. I feel like trying the potato fries now. Thank you for the meal!

Osaka is known for its kushikatsu, so I headed to the street near Tsutenkaku. Surprisingly, many shops were closing early, and I couldn't get into the one I wanted to try, becoming a kushikatsu refugee. But then I saw a sign that said open 24 hours! However, there were about 7 groups waiting in line. After waiting for about 30-40 minutes, I finally got a seat. Is this like a treasure trove of Osaka's B-class gourmet?! There's everything here, this is so much fun. I ordered one thing after another that I wanted to try while sightseeing in Osaka. The taste was average, but that's okay. I wanted to order the huge portions displayed outside the shop, but I think that would be tough on my stomach. So, being able to try various types in small portions is also nice. It's pretty great, isn't it?!

Finally, I went to a place I always ignored. The prices are low, but the cost performance isn't that great. It's set up for solo diners with affordable prices, but it can add up if you want to fill your stomach. This time it cost me around 5000 yen. The taste is decent and appeals to the general public. Overall, I don't dislike it. However, I couldn't use the sauce with a warning of "no seconds" because I could see oil floating on it.

I visited Tsutenkaku during my Osaka food tour. It was more of a spontaneous solo trip rather than a tour. The restaurant had a flashy exterior with a giant Billiken statue that caught my eye. I was informed that they operate on a 90-minute time limit and serve appetizers. I ordered a draft beer, highball, curry katsu, beef katsu, pickled ginger katsu, and shrimp katsu, which came to a total of 1,991 yen. Orders were placed using a QR code on a smartphone, which was quite modern. The restaurant was constantly busy with customers coming in one after another, likely due to its prime location. However, I found some aspects lacking such as the absence of cabbage, relatively high prices for the katsu skewers, delays in serving, and a lack of warmth in the service. It seemed more geared towards tourists rather than locals.

I went to see the Tsutenkaku Tower and had authentic kushikatsu for the first time in 10 years. I tried to remember the taste from back then, but couldn't (laughs). The kushikatsu was consistently delicious though. I enjoyed a drink while snacking and strolling around. ❤️

There is a kushikatsu restaurant in Tsutenkaku that seems to be open 24 hours. The total cost for a cover charge, 5 kushikatsu skewers, tadeyaki, and 4 drinks exceeded 5000 yen, which is quite pricey. The cover charge was like a convenience store side dish, and the drinks were a bit weak and not very tasty in my opinion. The kushikatsu was delicious as it was freshly fried, but the meat was a bit tough. The tadeyaki was decently tasty. Overall, it seems to cater more towards tourists. Personally, I wouldn't go back.

When it comes to lunch at Tsutenkaku, is it skewers? That's what I think. I was lucky because I just happened to enter. There were many menu options, but I decided to go with the 10-piece assorted skewers. Ah, the deliciousness that is different from Kanto. Is it the batter maybe? Drinking and eating, it was a fun lunch.

I went to Tennoji Zoo and then decided to have a light meal at this restaurant that caught my eye. I thought they only served kushikatsu, but they also have sashimi and izakaya dishes. It seems to cater more to tourists. The Yokozuna Highball apparently has three times the normal amount of alcohol, so it's quite strong and not recommended for women (lol). The appetizer is like buttered potatoes. The simmered dish was delicious. I ordered beef, scallop, onion, chicken thigh, eggplant, and cheese kushikatsu. It's a shame that many restaurants have stopped serving the traditional tangy sauce due to COVID. I think that's what defines kushikatsu in Osaka. The onion was large, but the scallops were disappointingly small. Thank you for the meal.

I have visited Osaka several times in the past, but I had never been to Shinsekai. This time was my first visit, and I felt like I was shown the business sense of Osaka merchants inside Tsutenkaku. The way you have to pass through souvenir shops to get out is cleverly designed. I have to leave the Shinsekai area by lunchtime to catch my flight back. For my final meal, I chose this place. It's really spacious. I wonder if the food I ordered will come quickly? They ask you to leave within 2 hours, but there aren't that many people here (laughs). I ordered takoyaki, okonomiyaki, pork pei-yaki, and cola. The cola came quickly. It's just average. The takoyaki arrived. The authentic takoyaki has a crispy surface but the inside is gooey. It's so hot it feels like it might burn your mouth. The pork pei-yaki arrived. The authentic version has more egg than meat. It felt like I was eating more egg than meat. The okonomiyaki arrived. The base only has cabbage, no unnecessary extras. I feel like I could eat this endlessly. I finished within the time limit. Thank you for the meal. Now, let's go back to the cold Sapporo.

On this day, I stayed at a hotel in the new world. I received a 500 yen discount coupon at the hotel that I could use at a nearby shop, so I went to this shop where the coupon could be used. Both of us were in good spirits playing smartball and easily won the biggest prize before visiting the shop. First, we had kushikatsu. The batter was delicious, crispy and crunchy. I tried ordering hormone kushikatsu, but with this type of kushikatsu, the vegetables are often more delicious than the meat. Meat tends to become tough when cooked, but vegetables become pleasantly soft and fluffy. The fried chicken was also delicious, similar to the fried chicken at a night market. That feeling. It's wonderful that this quality shop is open 24 hours a day. - Orders: young corn, yam, okra, hormone kushikatsu, fried chicken

After visiting Spa World with my wife, we decided to explore the New World and search for a place to enjoy takoyaki, kushikatsu, and okonomiyaki. We tried takoyaki at a place called Kankan, and then we looked for a place where we could have both kushikatsu and okonomiyaki together since it was almost time to head back. We found a restaurant called "Yokozuna" which offered both on their menu, so we decided to visit. The exterior of the restaurant was very flashy and stood out among the other shops. The interior was spacious and had a typical izakaya atmosphere. Although I wanted to have some alcohol, we had come by car so I settled for non-alcoholic beer this time. Here is what I had: - Kushikatsu (prices are excluding tax): - Kushikatsu: 120 yen - Pork belly: 130 yen - Smelt: 200 yen - Scallop: 210 yen - Red wiener: 120 yen - Other items: - Okonomiyaki: 680 yen - Special "doteyaki" (beef sinew stew): 480 yen The kushikatsu had tender meat inside and was very easy to eat and delicious. The pork belly was not greasy and I couldn't stop eating it. The smelt was fluffy, the scallop was thick and tasty, and the red wiener had a simple and nostalgic taste. Everything was easy to eat and went well with the sauce. The okonomiyaki had a fluffy texture and was satisfactory. The doteyaki had tender beef sinew stewed in miso and was delicious. The prices were reasonable and it was a convenient place to enjoy Osaka specialties all in one go, making it a great spot for tourists. If you visit Osaka, be sure to stop by this restaurant.

On the second day of the trip, we moved from Nara to Shinsekai. We found a kushikatsu restaurant while admiring the views of Tsutenkaku and decided to dine there. It was a large restaurant, seemingly open 24 hours. We ordered kushikatsu and in the meantime enjoyed some lemon sour with cucumber. The first batch of kushikatsu arrived, consisting of red sausage, kushikatsu, lotus root, and potato. The batter was fine and light, making them all perfect for snacking. We ordered a second batch while having more lemon sour. This time we got pickled ginger, baby corn, and shishito peppers. We opted for a vegetable set and everything was delicious. We finished with a light meal, but it was a delightful restaurant experience.

We used it with our family, so there were few skewers, and we ordered many side dishes such as fried food and noodles. The taste was good for all of them, but the main skewer cutlet was really delicious! There is a seating fee and a one-drink system. I think it would be more enjoyable to come with adults only for those who want to enjoy the skewers as the main dish!
