It is quietly located on the second floor of a stylish building. The atmosphere is great and the food is delicious, with a good cost performance. I had the cherry snapper and new potato something, and my partner had the Gorgonzola pasta which was incredibly delicious! If this were in Umeda, the lunch would probably cost around 2000 yen. But both dishes were around 1500 yen here. The desserts also looked delicious, so I would like to come back for tea next time.

I was invited by a colleague and went to "SAN" restaurant. It is located about 10 seconds' walk from exit 4 of Sakuragawa Station on the Hankai Namba Line. The building has a historical charm and has been renovated to include a cafe, bar, and miscellaneous goods store. The appetizer plate was huge, enough for three people. I wish they had served it on smaller plates for individual portions. The grilled chicken with coconut sauce was delicious and tender. The specialty here is the cheesecake, which was rich and creamy with a hint of blue cheese. The master chef is a handsome man.

Tonight, for Valentine's dinner, my wife and I went to "SAN" on the 2nd floor of Shin-Osakagawa Building. It's a popular lunch spot with long wait times, but we were grateful to be able to make a reservation and enjoy a leisurely meal. We had the dinner course which included pork shoulder loin with aioli and herb breadcrumbs for me, and pork belly simmered in black beer for my wife, along with dessert. The appetizer platter, carrot and ginger potage soup, bread, and drinks were also included. Every dish was excellent, especially the pudding which impressed me. It's a common menu item but the quality was exceptional. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal. The atmosphere was nice too, and I would like to try this restaurant again. Keep improving on your path and you will have no regrets.

I wanted to go to the popular cafe SAN in Sakuragawa, but I didn't feel like waiting in line. Finally, I decided to go and it turned out they call you when a table is ready. I only had to write my name and phone number and wait outside. I was told there was a 20-30 minute wait, but I was called in after about 10 minutes. The soup and bread were delicious, but personally, I found the flavors a bit strong and salty for my liking. I know, I ordered gorgonzola, but I usually prefer milder flavors. On Sunday at 11:00, I made a reservation for lunch. It's recommended to make a reservation as the first seating fills up quickly. I had the Porcini and Gorgonzola Rigatoni, followed by a drink and dessert (cheesecake). I also got a souvenir (chocolate banana cardamom cake) for 2,500 yen using PayPay. I was craving Rigatoni, so I visited after a long time. The sauce was just to my liking and really delicious. There were various options for the small plates, different from what my friend had. The Focaccia bread was crispy on the outside and fluffy inside with a perfect amount of salt, which I also enjoyed. For dessert, I had the cheesecake from Kawata Confectionery, which I can only get here since they have closed down. As for the souvenir, I chose the chocolate banana cake this time, but personally, I preferred the honey citrus pound cake over the one with cardamom.

The interior is small and stylish. On the final day of the 3-day weekend, I had made plans to meet up with a fishing friend in Taisho-ku to discuss fishing. We decided to go to a restaurant recommended by my fishing friend in Taisho-ku. My friend suggested a place called SAN (San), which is a cafe with 11,000 Instagram followers. The address of SAN is 3-2-1 Sakuragawa, Naniwa-ku, Osaka City, in the New Sakuragawa Building 204, a 5-minute walk from Sakuragawa Station on the Osaka Metro. We arrived at Sakuragawa Station at 1:30 PM, and my fishing friend guided me to the restaurant.
Upon arrival, we found out that SAN was quite popular and almost fully booked for lunch, with only one menu item left. We decided to make a reservation and come back later. After 30 minutes, we returned to SAN and were seated at a table. The lunch menu had three options, each with a different price, but adding a drink and dessert made the price the same for all. We ordered the Rigatoni with Porcini and Gorgonzola, along with a Campania bread, and a wine set with both white and red wine.
The restaurant had a stylish interior with a mix of old and new elements, creating a pleasant atmosphere. The food presentation was beautiful, and each dish looked appetizing. The Rigatoni was delicious, with a rich and flavorful sauce that paired well with the Campania bread. The side dishes were also impressive, with unique flavors and textures. We enjoyed our meal thoroughly and left the restaurant satisfied.
After thanking the staff and settling the bill, we left SAN with plans to return in the future. It was a delightful dining experience, and I look forward to visiting again.

I had the opportunity to go to Namba in the morning, so I decided to visit a cafe that has been rumored to be popular on social media. I wanted to try the Japanese breakfast with a large red snapper on rice that I had been curious about. The cafe was located on the second floor of a mixed-use building, run by two men, and had a cozy interior with tables lined up and a raised seating area in the back. The raised seating area by the window had a nice bright atmosphere. I checked the menu and ordered the following:
- Red snapper and olive rice with seasonal soup for 990 yen including tax
The food took a bit longer to arrive than I expected, but it was within an acceptable range since I wasn't in a hurry. The dish was delicious with the olive adding a hint of Western flavor to the rice. The large red snapper was also very good. The pickles were well-seasoned, and the soup contained taro, pumpkin, carrots, onions, and had a gentle and tasty broth.
Overall, the breakfast was satisfying, but the impression I got from the staff was extremely negative. From the moment I entered until I paid, the service was off-putting. Despite my patience, I left feeling uneasy due to the service. While they offer a variety of Western and Japanese dishes for breakfast and lunch, I have no intention of revisiting. I wanted to give a better rating, but this was my limit. Thank you for the meal.

I can't forget the delicious black beer stewed pork belly I had last time, so I'm planning to visit again this year. In Osaka, there are many gourmet spots to explore like Takamura for wine and coffee, Chihiro Patisserie for financiers, and ROUTE271 for bread. Last year around this time, my favorite KAWATA Seikatei store suddenly closed. Remembering that, I started craving the cheesecake from KAWATA. I visited the store around 1:30 pm on a weekday. The waiting board was filled with names. They had already sold out of the lunch menu by the last order. After seeing more people arriving, I realized how popular the store was. As I was about to leave, I suddenly thought about the cheesecake. I called and asked if they still had cheesecake available. They said they could serve cheesecake until the last order time. I went back to put my name on the waiting board again. After about an hour of waiting, they called me back. I ordered the following:
- Cheesecake for 550 yen: It was amazing. The cheesecake was soft and smooth like a terrine. I was impressed by the taste of the KAWATA recipe cheesecake.
- Cassata for 500 yen: A dessert with fruits and nuts mixed in an ice cream-like texture. It had a unique crunchy texture and was delicious.
Lunch is only available by reservation from 11 am. I will definitely come back for lunch next time. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I had the visit sea bream and olive mixed rice with a seasonal soup for breakfast again. I had it when I first visited, but the soup this season has a really gentle sweetness and is delicious!!
