Visited a relative's house nearby and decided to try the recommendation of the tempura at the restaurant. Changed the tempura set meal to curry udon. The tempura was made with chicken breast and was delicious, and the curry udon was also tasty! The curry wasn't spicy at all, it had a sweet flavor. I liked the texture of the noodles. The restaurant was spacious and had a parking lot. I would like to come back again.

When I returned to Yanagawa, of course I had udon noodles. Due to my schedule, I planned to have morning udon on this day. However, the shop opens at 10:30, so it's not really morning. As soon as they opened, customers kept coming in, showing how popular the shop is. Well, with this taste, it's no wonder. Today, I indulged in topping my udon with meat, kikurage mushrooms, and burdock tempura. The kashiwameshi is a must. The speed of service is incredibly fast, and the tempura is crispy. The enoki and shimeji mushrooms served as tempura are both very delicious. The enoki is so crispy that you can hardly feel the enoki texture. The shimeji mushrooms are so big, you might wonder if they come in this size, and they are very filling. The udon noodles are chewy but not too soft, giving a satisfying texture when you bite into them. The kashiwameshi is already delicious without saying. A must-have. Even though there are many udon shops across the country, I think the level of udon in Fukuoka is quite high. Until the next visit. Very satisfied. Thank you for the meal.

This is my second visit to Oki Town in Fukuoka Prefecture. There are many popular udon shops in this area of Fukuoka. I couldn't figure out why the sumo ring udon is called that, even after asking the staff. I ended up ordering the Mitsu Se Chicken Tendon Udon with an extra Maruten. It was a bit too much, but the chicken tempura was delicious, and the udon was soft and fluffy unlike in Kanto. I managed to finish it all! The udon was so soft and delicious. I'm glad I found this great restaurant! Thank you for the meal.

The Mitsu Sedori Tori Ten Teishoku is delicious! The Mitsu Sedori chicken tempura has a satisfying texture with tender meat and a slightly rich dipping sauce with mustard. The combination with mustard is excellent! I have become a fan of Dobyo Udon once again. I should try a different menu next time!

One of the shops I had always been curious about. Every time I went there, there were people waiting. This time, we were the seventh group in line, but the turnover was fast so we didn't have to wait long to get in. The recommended menu items had sumo wrestler names. So, I decided to try the Yokozuna and cold grated yam udon. The noodles were incredibly fluffy! The texture is addictive. The soup was also flavorful, I wanted to keep drinking it. The popular chicken tempura was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, very delicious.

For lunch during a business trip, I went to a nearby restaurant called Dojo Udon. I had the Beef and Burdock Udon and Beef Rice for just over 1000 yen. The noodles were thick and soft, with a rich broth that was delicious! The beef rice was also well-seasoned and excellent. I will definitely come back again!

I visited the restaurant around 6:00 PM on January 3rd, in the 5th year of Reiwa era. The parking lot was full and there were about 3 groups of customers waiting in front of the shop. After waiting for about 10 minutes, I ordered the Chicken Tempura set meal for ¥800 and a regular-sized Udon for ¥120. The Chicken Tempura was quite large with 6 pieces, and had a nice crispy texture with tender chicken meat. However, it was a bit disappointing that the tempura sauce was cold. The Udon had a good chewy texture and was very delicious. Despite being a remote restaurant, it's easy to see why it's so popular.

Around 3 o'clock on a regular afternoon, the customers were sparse and I was able to sit at a table alone. I chose the popular "Mushroom Tempura Udon" from the many udon menu options. The town of Oki, where the restaurant is located, is known for its mushrooms, and this udon dish is topped with plenty of fresh enoki and shimeji mushroom tempura, which is delicious in both taste and texture. The udon noodles are thick and chewy, with a unique texture that can't be found in other shops. The soup, made with Rausu kelp, is rich and flavorful, making it a truly delicious udon dish. I also want to try the "Motsu Nabe Yaki Udon," which they start serving from 3 o'clock.

I happened to come across a shop where the inside was decorated with signatures of sumo wrestlers and stablemasters. I tried the Sekiwake Udon and Mitsu-se Chicken Tempura set. The udon had a chewy texture typical of Fukuoka udon, and the chicken tempura was so tender that I doubted it was really breast meat. It came with 7 pieces of tempura, and I was very satisfied with the delicious taste. I also bought some sweet red bean paste and rice cakes to take home, and it only cost 2000 yen for two people with change back. This place truly offers delicious food at a great price!

It's been a while since my last visit. I stopped by around 13:00 due to work, and as usual, the place was crowded with customers. I had the classic tempura udon and chicken rice. The noodles and broth were as good as ever, and I finished every last drop. However, I couldn't help but feel a little regretful for not getting the tempura set meal... I'll try to go for the tempura set meal next time if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal. Oh, by the way, they have a takeout booth set up outside the restaurant now.

I finally got to go after keeping it on my list for a while. The chicken tempura was made with breast meat, light and delicious. The thick tempura dipping sauce that came with it was a big plus. The ponzu sauce was also tasty, but it went really well with the breast meat. The mini udon had shredded kombu seaweed already mixed in, so it was hard to taste the broth, but I love shredded kombu so it was fine. It wasn't mind-blowing, but overall it was tasty. However, I'm not a big fan of thick noodles.

The interior of the restaurant has counter seats, table seats, and raised tatami seating, with a relatively large number of seats available. Anyway, today's lunch was on the way back from fetching spring water for Hyena Grandpa in a certain place in Kumamoto Prefecture. Tsuchiyabou Udon ❤️٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶ Hyena Grandpa only eats udon or Linger Hat's plate udon for outdoor meals... Haha. This time, it was udon ❤️ I had meat udon, inari sushi, and bamboo ring tempura. Hyena Grandpa had curry udon with meat topping and extra green onions. They don't charge extra for adding green onions here... Haha. And that's it for lunch... Haha. Also had bamboo ring tempura and inari sushi ψ(`∇´)ψ The curry udon, inari sushi, and bamboo ring tempura here were really delicious. In a small area in the southern part of Fukuoka Prefecture, the impression was that this restaurant had the best infection prevention measures among the places I visited. I visited on December 25, 2021, taking advantage of the stamp rally for the now-ended free paper Kurumestile. The participating stores were Shin no Ie (Kurume City), Sanuki Udon Ishii (Kurume City), Nagami Seimen (Kurume City), Tsuruya Yame City Hall Store (Yame City), Tachibana Udon (Kurume City), Matsuya Udon (Chikuzen Town), Doyo Udon (Ogi Town), Yamachu Kushiwara Store (Kurume City), Menraku (Chikugo City), Shohachiro Udon (Kurume City), Tanaka no Menya (Kurume City, Jyoshima-cho), Ryo Ryo Udon (Kurume City, Yamamoto-cho), Tsuruten (Kurume City, Nagato Ishi-cho), Tokube Udon Kamitsu/Mitsuzuka/Miyaki Store (Kurume City, Mitsuzuka-cho, Miyaki-cho), Udon HIRO (Kurume City), and Ichiyoshi Udon (Miyaki-cho, Saga Prefecture), a total of 18 stores (16 stamps). The menu I received this time was Kake Udon for 308 yen + Tempura for 550 yen (tax included). I knew it, but the noodles here are thick. I knew it, but seeing the actual thing for the first time, they are so thick that I couldn't help but laugh. They are indeed thick, soft, and sometimes cannot be picked up with chopsticks. Even when trying to slurp up a single noodle, it may break in the middle. I knew it, but seeing it made me laugh. The tempura consisted of green pepper, carrot, pumpkin, and 2 shrimp tails, I think. I feel that the guidance here is tailored to the customer base. There is alcohol placed on the way from the toilet to the store, which is important. When using the toilet, the space is narrow and the distance becomes closer when sharing with others. Some customers also go to the toilet without a mask during meals, so it is important to be careful. Even though the restaurant is making such an effort, it is disappointing to see customers take off their masks after eating, go to the cash register, have a conversation, and leave without putting the mask back on. Well, it's the fault of the customers. Later, when I looked at the receipt, 550 yen had become 540 yen. It was not a typing error since it was electronically processed, so it might have been some kind of service, but I forgot about it.

Popular landmark restaurant "Dohyo Udon" in Oki Town. Located in the middle of rice fields in Oki Town, this restaurant always has a steady stream of customers. The unique feature of this place is the soft and thick noodles that everyone comes for. However, I'm not a big fan of these noodles, so even though I pass by often, I don't go there too frequently. But on this day, I happened to be in the mood for chicken tempura, so I remembered they had it on the menu and decided to stop by. It was just past 11 am, and the restaurant was about 60% full, showing its popularity. The service from the staff here is also a standout feature. I ordered the "Mitsuse Chicken Tempura Set (770 yen)" which came with a mini udon. The chicken tempura that arrived was substantial, tender, and very delicious. It was a dish that went well with rice, but I wish the rice was a bit tastier. The yuzu pepper and rose salt on the table were a nice touch for changing up the flavor of the chicken tempura. The mini udon was just the right size for me to enjoy, as I tend to get tired of noodles if the portion is too big. My personal preference affects my rating, but I believe most people would rate this restaurant higher. It is undoubtedly a delicious and popular spot. I will definitely be back when I'm in the mood for chicken tempura.

Recommended by a friend to try sumo wrestler-themed dish at this restaurant for the first time! It's my debut in sumo wrestling world. The ranking of the toppings goes like this: Komusubi < Sekiwake < Ozeki < Yokozuna, so I ordered the Komusubi dish for now. When the dish arrived, I was surprised by its appearance - it looked truly like a Yokozuna dish! So, I dug in. The broth was rich and punchy, the thick noodles had a chewy texture, the sweet and savory meat and crispy tempura added a nice contrast, and there was plenty of seaweed and just the egg yolk. The overall balance was perfect. It was a delicious meal.

Today, I visited Daiki Town in Fukuoka Prefecture for work-related reasons! At lunchtime, I searched on Tabelog and found this place nearby. It had good ratings on Tabelog and seemed to be quite popular. The interior of the restaurant had a counter and tables, and it was almost full. I looked at the menu and ordered the most popular combination: - Niku Gobo Tempura Udon (693 yen) - Kashiwa Meshi (198 yen) The combination of meat and gobo tempura is always the best, right? In just 5 minutes, the udon and kashiwa meshi arrived. The udon had thick and chewy noodles, a texture that I really enjoyed as I had been having Hakata's soft noodles for a while. The broth had a refreshing flavor with a hint of dried bonito. The meat was cooked sweet and tender, blending well with the broth. The gobo tempura was made with thin slices of gobo fried whole. The kashiwa meshi was light yet flavorful, with the taste of chicken and gobo infused into the rice. It was delicious and the full house was definitely justified. I will definitely visit this place again!

It takes a little over 20 minutes by bicycle from JR Chikugo Funakoya Station, and there are plenty of parking spaces, so most people usually drive there. It's a popular place where even if you go around 2 pm, there may be people waiting. I ordered the Small Sumo Udon with beef, burdock, egg, and seaweed for 770 yen plus 110 yen for extra noodles, tax included. The noodles are soft, typical of Fukuoka, but they are thick with a slight firmness, providing a good texture. The beef, similar to gyudon, is sweet and soaks into the broth. It was delicious.
