We went with two people. We arrived after 5pm because reservations are only available for groups of four or more, but the place was quite full inside. However, we managed to get in. The taste was consistently delicious. The sesame mackerel and water dumplings were also tasty. When we left the restaurant after 7pm, there were customers waiting outside as well. It's very popular.

On Friday night, reservations are accepted for a minimum of 4 people, not for 2. We arrived before 6 pm and were able to sit without any issues, but there was a slight line forming afterwards. The "iron pot gyoza" is gyoza cooked in an iron pot with oil, making it crispy and easy to eat. The gyoza is small-sized, with lots of vegetables and a crispy texture, somewhere between fried and grilled gyoza. It was disappointing that they were out of sesame mackerel, but the spicy simmered mackerel was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I visited Kokura for the first time in 10 years on a business trip! It's so nostalgic! I went to Kokura Tetsu Nabe, which I used to frequent back in the day. Hmm, it's the best. Tetsu Nabe and Goma Saba are truly delicious. For me, these two are like Fukuoka specialties that I love so much. However, compared to 10 years ago, the prices have increased quite a bit (especially the beer...), so I rated it based on this. The taste is still excellent!

I have visited Hakata Tetsunabe several times, but was lured in by the red sign during my business trip to Kokura. It was already full past 5 p.m. Tetsunabe gyoza must be ordered in servings for two people. Before the gyoza arrived, I enjoyed sesame mackerel, pickled vegetables, and bottled beer. Even though I was already full, I couldn't resist ordering another serving of Tetsunabe and water dumplings. It was so delicious that I ended up eating too much.

During the Hakata era, I have only come to Kokura by car. With time until night, I took a 15-minute Shinkansen ride from Hakata to Kokura for a lunch drink at Teki-nabe Gyoza. It's been a while since I had Teki-nabe Gyoza and beer. It was simply delicious, but even on a Saturday afternoon, there were hardly any customers. The pricing is slightly higher for Kokura residents, but that's understandable.

I visited the main store of Kokura Tetsunabe in Kitakyushu City. It's located in Uomachi. I found this place on Tabelog and decided to give it a try since it seemed quite popular. I went during the middle of Golden Week without a reservation. I ordered the Tetsunabe Gyoza (680 yen) and the boiled dumplings (690 yen), tax included. I chose two different types. The Tetsunabe Gyoza had a traditional crispy texture from being well-cooked. The taste was just okay, like regular gyoza. The boiled dumplings were home-style and comforting. Gyoza really goes well with beer, so it was a great meal. Thank you for the delicious food.

In March 2023 in Kitakyushu City, there is a hot iron pot of gyoza that goes well with cold draft beer at night! The gyoza served in an iron pot is crispy on the outside and stays hot even after some time, so you can enjoy it piping hot. There are also various side dishes like pufferfish salted guts, horse sashimi, squid sashimi, etc. Orders are placed quickly through a tablet touch screen. Even on a weekday night, the restaurant was almost full, with everyone enjoying hot gyoza, beer, highballs, and more. Let's keep drinking in Kitakyushu's night!

"Following Utsunomiya Gyoza and Hamamatsu Gyoza, "Hachiman Gyoza" is said to be the top in Japan. Among them, the "Kokura Iron Pot" is the best. The gyoza is small and crispy, and two servings can be easily eaten. Just order the sesame mackerel and wash it down with beer. It's easy, isn't it?"

Hello everyone, what's up? It's MoriP, who loves to eat around Fukuoka! Today, I visited "Kokura Tetsu Nabe Main Store". The grilled gyoza here has a crispy and crunchy skin that makes it feel like a snack, but it still has a delicious gyoza flavor packed inside. I've tried one-bite gyoza in Hakata, Tenjin, and Kurume, but this was my favorite one-bite gyoza by far!

Arrived at 2:15 pm. The place was quite crowded, with only seats at the counter available. Had to wait a bit before being seated. I had planned to come later to avoid the lunch rush until 3 pm, but it seems this place is really popular. I ordered 10 gyoza, cabbage, rice, and miso soup for 900 yen including tax, so the cost performance is not that great. The draft beer I ordered was 730 yen including tax, which is quite reasonable. The gyoza were on the smaller side, but the skin was crispy. The combination of sauce and yuzu pepper was surprisingly good, unlike the sauce and chili oil which didn't quite hit the mark.

The nearest station is Heiwa-dori Station on the monorail, just a 1-minute walk away. It is also within walking distance from JR Kokura Station. The dishes I tried were: 1) Iron pot dumplings - the menu is for 2 people but they can serve a single portion as well. The dumplings were fried in a lot of oil, making them quite substantial. They were larger than expected and satisfying to eat, served with vinegar soy sauce or yuzu pepper. 2) Simmered mackerel - mackerel simmered in a mixture of miso, soy sauce, and mirin. It was delicious and well-balanced, with no fishy smell and rich in fat. 3) Medium rice - just regular rice. I did some research on Kokura beforehand, but ended up at this restaurant with no specific reason. Since it's the main branch, it's no wonder they have other branches as well.

Delicious! It's delicious in one word! It's crispy, filled with plenty of vegetables that melt in your mouth. Add vinegar soy sauce and chili oil. It's also very delicious with yuzu pepper. Vinegar soy sauce with yuzu pepper?!?! Well, it's delicious! The garlic isn't too strong, but you can lightly taste it. The boiled dumplings have a nice chewy texture and are filled generously. I forgot to take a picture, but the chimaki was delicious too! We also ordered fried udon, pickled mackerel (sesame mackerel was sold out (T . T)), squid sashimi, and other dishes, but everything was delicious, and the place was filled with locals. Oh, it was delicious. We, three of us, ended up eating 11 servings in total, haha. Thank you for the meal. Namaste!

I usually use Uomachi and usually go around 4 pm or after lunch, but it was closed so I went to the main store. Since I was alone, I was seated at the counter and ordered two pieces of sashimi and grilled fish to start. I enjoyed some yam while waiting for my order. The grilled fish usually becomes round when you order three pieces, but this time it didn't become round. However, when I tried it, the skin between the layers seemed undercooked and powdery. It stuck together, the skin tore, and it just wasn't as delicious as usual. Although I was quite full, I ordered a green tea highball and an additional water dumpling. I was surprised that the small green tea highball cost almost 600 yen. In Tokyo izakayas, a larger highball costs around 380 yen, so this was unexpected. Overall, I preferred Uomachi. Next time, please make sure the fish is cooked through.

On a business trip to Kitakyushu City at night. On this day, many colleagues were also on a business trip, and we met up for a second party. Is Teppanyaki still the best choice? I had already had a decent amount at the first party, so I only had gyoza. It goes well with beer and/or highball.

There's nothing to say. Utsunomiya and Hamamatsu are certainly delicious as well. However, I think this is the best. The iron pot in Kokura is the strongest. The gyoza served in a sizzling hot iron pot is the best. I want to keep listening to this sound forever. Just by the sound, I think I could drink a whole beer mug. Also, I can eat multiple bowls of jindan-ni with just miso.

I visited the main store among several stores during my trip to Kitakyushu. The exterior had large letters that were easy to spot. It was within walking distance from Kokura Castle. Inside the store, there were counter seats as well as table seats. I ordered the iron pot lunch set (with white rice). Actually, I had a big breakfast that day and wasn't very hungry, so I went for the 10-piece gyoza option. If you're looking for a photogenic dish, the DX option (20 pieces) neatly arranged in a round pot might be better. The gyoza itself was on the smaller side and had a light flavor, so you can easily eat them one after another. If you haven't decided on what to eat in Kokura, trying this local specialty might not be a bad idea.

I visited the popular dumpling restaurant, Tetsunabe Honten, in Kokura. Due to the impact of a typhoon, the bullet train might not be running the next day, so I had to head back a day early. But I wanted to eat something famous before leaving! That's why I visited this place near the station. The dumplings were crispy on the outside and packed with filling, making them my favorite.

Away game of Matsumoto Yamaga, against Kitakyushu. We won the game and celebrated with a toast here♪ Ordered iron pot gyoza, boiled mackerel with miso, and draft beer. It was hot, so I chugged the draft beer right away. When I ordered another beer, the boiled mackerel arrived. I didn't know about boiled mackerel, but it's a dish cooked in fermented miso. It has a slightly spicy taste that goes well with alcohol. The main dishes, iron pot gyoza and water gyoza, arrived. They were crispy and delicious. My wife, who loves fried gyoza, also enjoyed them. The water gyoza was smooth and tasty. I couldn't resist ordering more. I felt like having noodles as a finale, so I added Chanpon. The Chanpon here was quite good! It had plenty of ingredients and the noodles were just the right firmness. Maybe it was because I had been drinking, but it was surprisingly delicious. It was a great way to end the night with good drinks♪

At the Teppan Nabe main store near Kokura Station, customers keep coming in during lunchtime. We ordered three servings of Teppan Nabe Gyoza this time. They are served hot in a sizzling hot pot with a crispy surface. We enjoyed them with special sauce, chili oil, and yuzu pepper. The fried rice was fluffy and delicious. Thank you for the meal.

We decided to visit this restaurant known for its iron pot dishes, as it is a place that represents Kokura. We enjoyed Fukuoka delicacies such as iron pot gyoza, boiled gyoza, and motsu hot pot. The taste was okay, nothing extraordinary, but we were satisfied as we could try a variety of dishes in a private room.
