Recently, these kinds of nostalgic mobile vendors have been decreasing. I decided to have a hot dog after a long time and ordered a Wiener Dog for 300 yen. While talking to the owner about the structure of the car due to my job, I was surprised to hear that this shop was established 50 years ago! The conversation shifted from the structure to the 50-year history of the shop, and I learned many unknown stories. Ohori Park has a track-like outer loop where many people come for running or walking. I was surprised to hear that in the past, cars used to drive on this outer loop like a normal road. On rainy days, the outer loop was still unpaved and cars were covered in mud. It's amazing to find a piece of Showa-era heritage still remaining here.

After riding a boat at H28.5 Ohori Park, we bought shaved ice at a hot dog stand. I had been wanting to try the hot dogs at this shop for a while, but this time only my wife bought a strawberry shaved ice. It cost 300 yen for a small cup of shaved ice. When we ordered, they scooped ice from a cooler box into the cup and poured syrup generously on top. The syrup was the kind you can find in stores. The taste was quite ordinary. The portion was small for the price of 300 yen, so overall, the rating is modest.

Next to the boat pier in Ohori Park, there is a hot dog stand beloved by the locals. On this day, I went for a run with my friends in preparation for the Honolulu Marathon. We usually run at Kayocho Park, which is relatively close to my home, but we decided to run at Ohori Park this time. After sweating it out, we decided to have lunch at this hot dog stand right next to the park before heading back to our car. I ordered a hot dog with a sausage and a hamburger. I noticed that they didn't sell drinks, but there was a vending machine nearby, so it wasn't a problem. While waiting for our hot dogs to be cooked, we took a break on a bench and enjoyed the view. It had been decades since I last had a hot dog while enjoying the scenery at Ohori Park. The hot dogs we ordered were ready. The sausage cost 300 yen. After passing through Maizuru Park, I entered Ohori Park for the first time, and it's so spacious! There are lots of people jogging, walking, reading books, and enjoying hot dogs. The sight of a hot dog cart by the pond feels nostalgic. Although I had curry earlier, I couldn't resist and bought one. It had fewer cabbage toppings than expected, but the freshly grilled sausage was delicious. I sat on a stone chair by the pond and savored it. The atmosphere of eating by the pond was nice. I finished it in 5 bites and now I have to walk back home. Well, that was a satisfying meal.

This is the oasis for Fukuoka citizens, "Ohori Park". It is only 2 subway stops, just 4 minutes away from the center of Fukuoka, Tenjin. Along the 2 km path surrounding the pond, there are restaurants and cafes such as "Royal Garden Cafe Ohori Park", "Hananoki", "Starbucks Coffee Fukuoka Ohori Park Store", and "&LOCALS". However, since the weather is nice today, I opted for a take-out hot dog stand. It is sold from a mobile kitchen car. There are plenty of benches around the pond, so you should be able to find a seat easily unless it's very crowded. The basic hot dog with a sausage costs 300 yen. There are also options with hamburgers or cheese. The lineup is almost the same as the hot dog stands at Nishi Park and Yuyama Katae Observatory.
