The atmosphere inside the restaurant is nice. You purchase your meal by buying a ticket from the machine and handing it to the staff. I have been here many times, and what surprised me at first was that the udon noodles here are transparent! The clear noodles have a chewy texture, and the rich broth is amazing! The best part is the huge tempura burdock root! It's crispy and sweet, and definitely Instagram-worthy. This udon is probably the best I've ever had. I will continue to come back here in the future.

The udon noodles were delicious with a chewy texture. The tempura and burdock tempura had a huge portion, so a half order is enough for women and children. The tempura was super crispy and amazing. The tempura at the next table looked so delicious that the father had a hard time resisting it, as it was ordered by the child. The soup was a bit on the strong side. This is definitely a place I will visit again. The picture was taken suddenly after eating a bit.

I went to Nakagawa City on Saturday for another matter and arrived at the restaurant around 12 o'clock. The parking lot in front of the store was full with 3 cars, so I followed another car that seemed to be waiting for a parking spot, but it was also full. When I returned to the front of the store, there was one empty spot so I parked immediately. I was in the mood for katsudon, so I ordered the udon set and it was served quickly. The udon was topped with green onions and seaweed. The noodles had a strong texture and the soup was well made. The katsudon had plenty of rice and the sauce was slightly spicy. I was impressed when the neighboring table's child accidentally spilled their food, the staff quickly brought a replacement. Next time, I would like to try the tempura udon.

Tempura bukkake udon with round burdock tempura. The tempura was generously portioned and the udon was half-transparent, providing a satisfying texture and delicious taste. I arrived around 11:15 and by the time I finished eating, the tables were already full, with only 2 seats available at the counter. The popularity of the restaurant remains unchanged.

I changed my plans for ramen and skipped the local back-alley drinking party. 1. Udon with three pieces of kisu tempura - 800 yen 2. Topping of burdock tempura - 200 yen 3. Two pieces of kashiwa (chicken) - 200 yen 4. Two pieces of inari (tofu) - 160 yen The large kisu tempura has a crispy coating and juicy meat, while the big burdock tempura has an irresistible crunchy texture. Whether dipped in salt or broth, it is incredibly delicious. The yellow noodles with a perfect balance of firmness and tenderness, along with the tasty broth, always make me wonder if it's Hakata or a local drinking party, but sometimes there's a hint of Sanuki as well. Thank you for the meal.

In Nagakawa City, there is a shop called Today's Light, which is a udon restaurant run by Toyomae Uchida-kai. You purchase your meal at the ticket machine by the entrance and then you will be shown to your seat. For first-time visitors, I recommend trying the Gobo Tempura Udon for 650 yen. The noodles are boiled after you place your order, so you have to wait a little bit. After a few minutes of waiting, the Gobo Tempura is served in a large portion. The soup has a familiar taste of Uchida-kai, and the noodles are slightly thicker. The Gobo Tempura is amazing, crispy and delicious. It's a lot to eat, but I managed to finish it, although I experienced stomach discomfort for the next 3 hours. For those who can't finish a big portion, they also offer a half-size Gobo Tempura Udon. I recommend trying the Bukkake Udon next time! Thank you for the delicious meal.

Honestly, it was unexpected! It was my first visit, so I chose the recommended burdock tempura udon at the restaurant! The noodles were firm and transparent, with a good texture. The burdock tempura was surprisingly large! To be honest, it's a portion that could easily be shared by two people^^;

Ordered the famous gobou (burdock root) tempura udon at Toyomae Uradashi-kai in Nakagawa. The gobou was served on a separate plate, and the broth, while light in color, had a strong flavor with hints of bonito. In Imamitsu, Naka River City, there is an udon restaurant. There are three parking spaces available. The noodles at this udon restaurant are shiny and smooth with an egg-like color, and they are more elastic than Sanuki udon noodles. This time, I ordered the regular meat udon instead of the popular bukkake udon. The broth had a strong aroma of bonito flakes, with a mild sweetness and the meat was seasoned with a sweet flavor.

First visit! After finishing work, I was on my way to the Nakagawa area in Kasuga City, and I had been curious about this restaurant for a while, so I checked it out. Despite it being before lunchtime, the parking lot and the restaurant were already full. I ordered the value "Got Got Set" at the ticket machine inside the restaurant and was seated at the counter. In about 5 minutes, my tray arrived with Gobou Tempura Udon, filled with meat, seaweed, and more. The udon had a nice chewy texture and was slightly translucent, which was impressive! There were also two pieces of Inari sushi, which were delicious without feeling greasy. The taste was gentle and suitable for children and the elderly alike. The "Golden Pepper" and "Golden Yuzu Pepper" on the table had a strong kick, and I was surprised by how they enhanced the flavor of the udon without overpowering it. I will definitely visit this restaurant again! Next time, I want to try the large "Round Gobou Tempura Udon." Thank you for the meal!

I visited the "Udon Shiraki Shoten" in Naka-gawa City. I was impressed by the freshly fried round tempura last time, so I visited again after a long time. I purchased a ticket for round tempura udon (600 yen) and a half portion of burdock topping (100 yen) at the ticket machine. The soup seems to have a strong bonito flavor compared to my last visit, but it is still delicious. The noodles have a unique transparent and chewy texture typical of "Buzen Ura Uchi Kai", but the wheat flavor is still lacking. As for the round tempura, it seemed different this time. It puffs up like a round ball. When I took a bite, I was happy to taste a smoky aroma, but I was surprised that it was only about 5mm thick when the air inside escaped. I think it was about 10mm thick last time. However, it still had a nice chewy texture. The burdock tempura had a satisfying amount and crunchiness. Since I didn't feel as satisfied with the round tempura as I did last time, I have to lower my rating slightly.

I went to this restaurant because my favorite udon shop was closed. It is a shop of Buzen Uchizuke Association. The udon noodles are clear and have a good texture, but the broth is a bit too strong for my liking. However, the reasonable prices make it a nice place to eat. Thank you for the meal.

I finally visited a udon restaurant that I had been curious about for a while. It was around 1:30 pm, and the place was almost full, quite busy. I had always thought that Fukuoka udon was soft and lacked chewiness, so I was unsure about cold udon, but on this hot day, I really wanted to try it. I ordered the tempura udon (cold). They said it would take a bit of time to make since they cook it after you order, but it actually only took about 15 minutes. When it arrived, I was surprised by the portion size! And all this for 900 yen?! I poured the dipping sauce over it and started eating. The udon was slightly translucent and thin. It had a great chewiness, very springy. It was completely different from the Hakata udon I had before. Delicious! I like soft udon, but this udon was on another level of deliciousness. You really had to chew it well before swallowing, which made it satisfying to eat. If the noodles were this good, I bet the broth is delicious too. I want to try the hot udon next time. I later found out it was udon from the "Buzen Uradashi-kai." I didn't know that, but I liked it, so I will definitely come back!

I visited a udon restaurant in the direction of Naka River for lunch. It was called Shiraki Shoten and located on the opposite lane from Uchida intersection on Route 385, just before going under the Shinkansen viaduct towards Kasuga. The udon was similar to the Daichi no Udon, a type of Udon from the Buzen Urauchi-kai group. I ordered the Gobo Tempura Udon (550 yen) and a Mini Katsu Don (300 yen). The restaurant was not very spacious, with about 6 seats at the counter and 4 tables. The Katsu Don was served first, with a decent amount of rice and 4 pieces of moderately thick pork cutlets soaked in sauce. The egg topping was slightly runny and the flavor was a bit on the rich side. When the udon arrived, the Gobo Tempura was served separately. The tempura consisted of thinly sliced large pieces of burdock root, about 7-8 slices. The udon noodles were similar to the ones found in other Buzen Urauchi-kai restaurants, slightly thicker. Overall, the Gobo provided a satisfying crunch, making it easier to eat compared to regular tempura. It's recommended to try different restaurants within the Buzen Urauchi-kai group to compare the flavors.

There was a parking space available in front, so I decided to stop by after a long time! I ordered an udon set at the ticket machine, with a mini katsu-don! The broth this time was my favorite, not too salty like before. The noodles were hand-cut, giving a variety of textures with some uneven cuts. I prefer a bit more broth with my katsu-don though. If the parking is available again, I will definitely go back. Thank you for the meal!

Located right at the border of Minami Ward in Fukuoka City, Kasuga City, and Naka River City. The parking lot has space for 3 cars in front of the shop and 3 cars in the back. It's a shop for Urauchi-kai. Inside, there is a counter and four table seats, making it a cozy space. When you enter, you'll see the ticket machine, a common sight in Urauchi-kai shops. I ordered the "DeDe Set" for 700 yen, while my companion had the regular Niku Udon for 700 yen. The DeDe Set includes Udon with burdock, meat, and seaweed, along with inari. The noodles had a nice firm texture and were delicious, true to Urauchi-kai style. The burdock was crispy and hot. There are yellow chili peppers and other condiments on the table. I personally like the yuzu flavor. Be careful not to put too much! One of the young female staff members had a soft voice and seemed a bit lacking in energy, which was a bit noticeable. I wandered around looking for udon and ended up at Nakagawa. I got the Ebiten Bukkake for 850 yen and added 200 yen for a large serving. It was incredibly delicious. No doubt about it. If I ever get interviewed for an udon map, I will definitely recommend this place. I will definitely go back!
