Starting from spring 2023, I have been receiving more requests for employee training in Osaka, so I find myself coming to Osaka almost every week. As a food lover, I always look forward to enjoying delicious meals during my business trips. It is important to replenish energy by eating delicious food in order to stay energetic throughout the day of employee training. This time, after a meeting in Osaka, I decided to have dinner at Shin-Osaka Station as I had to take the Shinkansen. I looked it up on "Tabelog" and found this restaurant. The exterior and interior of the restaurant exude a calm atmosphere typical of a "over 100-year-old Western-style restaurant in Kyoto," but surprisingly, both the kitchen and service staff are in their twenties. As a result, the lively and cheerful voices of the young staff resonate throughout the restaurant. Despite being a Western-style restaurant, the energetic atmosphere is felt thanks to the young staff. Moreover, everyone has a pleasant demeanor and a friendly attitude. I was torn between menu options, but ultimately decided on the limited-time special "Kyoto-grown bamboo shoot and Kujo green onion teriyaki hamburger steak" with tomato salad and rice on the side. First, a whole tomato salad with seafood and mayonnaise accents inside is served. By the time I finished the tomato, the main dish of hamburger steak with rice was brought to the table. The freshly baked hamburger steak is wrapped in aluminum foil, and when you open it with a fork and knife, a delightful aroma of the hamburger steak fills the air. The teriyaki hamburger steak is topped with grilled bamboo shoots and finely chopped Kujo green onions. The flavors are subtle, allowing the natural taste of the ingredients to shine through. The hamburger steak is perfectly cooked inside, with the rich umami flavor of the meat concentrated. The teriyaki sauce is mildly sweet and delicious. The glossy surface of the teriyaki sauce is also appetizing. Not only does it taste great, but it also looks appealing. As a fan of hamburger steak, this is the best one I have had recently! The rice portion is modest, but the large, fluffy potatoes served with the hamburger steak fill you up. I look forward to trying a different dish next time. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I arrived at Shin-Osaka and went straight to the restaurant! It's right below when you come out of the ticket gate, so you won't get lost. I ordered and the tomato salad came out quickly. It had a nice balance of sweetness and a hint of acidity with a sweet dressing. The tuna potato salad underneath was delicious. The main dish, hamburger, was wrapped in aluminum foil to eat, but I forgot to take a picture. It stayed warm until the end and went really well with the rice! There are various hamburger menu options, so I want to go back to eat again when I visit Osaka. Thank you for the meal!

Today, I went to Shin-Osaka to catch the bullet train. Since I had some time to spare, I decided to have a leisurely lunch at Toyo-Tei. It was a bit early for lunch, so the staff seemed a bit short-handed and I had to wait in line despite there being empty seats. I ordered the usual hamburger set, but it took almost 30 minutes for it to be served, which was a bit disappointing. There was no mention of the delay, so I quickly ate and headed straight to the bullet train. I was in such a rush that I forgot to take a picture of the hamburger (sad face). The taste was delicious, and the staff seemed kind, but the long wait for the food was the only downside. Thank you for the meal.

The taste is spot on! I really wanted to eat Western food, so I decided to visit this restaurant. Even though there were many customers lining up right after opening, I managed to enter smoothly. For lunch, a tomato salad is served, and it is absolutely delicious. The gentle flavor seeps into my empty stomach. The main dish, the hamburger steak, is wrapped in foil, and when you unwrap it, a happy aroma fills the air. The hamburger steak is classic, but the balance with the sauce is perfect, and before I knew it, it had disappeared.

Before heading home, I was wandering around deciding where to eat, and ended up choosing this place where there was no line. The restaurant was full, so I was seated near the entrance. I ordered the A set... The salad for the appetizer was a cabbage and onion tuna salad topped with a whole peeled tomato, which was cold and easy to eat, and delicious. Next, the hamburger and rice were served in a foil that puffed up like a balloon. When I opened it, there was a hamburger covered in plenty of demi-glace sauce, surrounded by onions and shimeji mushrooms, with three green beans at the bottom. It had a nostalgic taste of a classic hamburger, and the demi-glace sauce was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

There is a Western-style restaurant inside the terminal at Shin-Osaka. At lunchtime, there were about 6 people waiting in line, but I was able to get in after about 15 minutes. This time, I had the cutlet. The tomato salad was fresh and whole. The meat in the cutlet was tender and very delicious!

The restaurant area at Hankyu is always crowded with long lines, and I was hesitant to visit because I don't like waiting for an hour to get in. However, the Toko-tei restaurant at Shin-Osaka Station miraculously had no waiting time, so I seized the opportunity and went in. I ordered the A set of the hundred-year hamburger. The A set comes with tomato salad, a main dish, and rice (you can also choose bread). First, they bring you the tomato salad, which has a dressing with tuna that I really liked. This got me excited. Soon, they brought out the hamburger wrapped in an aluminum foil dome, and when I opened it, the sauce was boiling hot. I had to be careful not to burn myself while enjoying it. The taste was even better than I expected. The accompanying potatoes were soft and delicious. However, there were too many giant potatoes compared to the whole hamburger. The rice was shiny and had a nice texture, making it delicious. The only downside was that the seating was cramped. I wish the seats were a bit more spacious. I'm contemplating trying the shrimp fry next time.

I arrived before 11 o'clock and lined up, the restaurant was not full but it seems they are making customers wait outside for about 15 minutes considering the cooking time. The signature dish is the "Hamburg Steak" for ¥1,580. First, a whole tomato salad arrived, and today's tomatoes are from Yatsushiro, Kumamoto Prefecture. After a while, the Hamburg Steak wrapped in foil arrived, and it was delicious with beef stew sauce. The baked potato is eaten alternately with butter and sauce, and rice was free for refills. The service and food are very good, but waiting outside can be a pain for those in a hurry or with tight schedules. If the timing is bad, you may have to wait 20 minutes even with just 2 groups ahead. It takes about 20 minutes for the food to arrive as well. The table next to us was in a rush, saying "We won't make it to the bullet train." It's better to choose a restaurant carefully - (laughs)

I visited for lunch. - Special Tomato Salad: A retro taste with peeled tomatoes, chilled well, mixed with tuna, ketchup, and mayonnaise. Not exceptionally delicious, but a good dish from the Showa era. - The accordion-based music and the interior design with American-colored wood give off a noble and stylish Showa vibe. - Hamburg Steak Wrapped in Foil: Breaking the inflated aluminum foil releases steam, revealing a hot Hamburg steak inside. It makes adults excited. When paired with beef stew, it's undeniably delicious. I got lost in the rice and Hamburg steak. It was a high-class Western-style restaurant from the Showa era.

The 'Japanese-style hamburger' for ¥1,530 comes with tomato farce and rice. It takes about 20 minutes to prepare. The dish includes a baked potato with butter, grated daikon radish, and a sunny-side-up egg on the side. The beautiful sunny-side-up egg can be moved onto the rice (laughs). A recommended dish is the hamburger with beef stew sauce. The hamburger is baked in aluminum foil. Is it similar to the 'Tsubame Grill' for people from Kanto region? With so many similarities, there must be some connection between them."

Having arrived a little after lunchtime, there was already a line forming. However, it was definitely worth the wait! The tomato salad and soup for the appetizer were excellent! And the deliciousness of the hamburger goes without saying! It was juicy and incredibly tasty. Thank you for the meal!

I lined up because there were only two groups ahead of me, but ended up waiting for over 20 minutes. I regretted waiting that long when I could have gone somewhere else. The hamburgers were good, but not worth the long wait in my opinion. There are plenty of delicious hamburger places in Osaka, so I recommend exploring other options. Thank you for the meal.

If you're a man, you'll love the hamburgers here. I was recommended to try this place by a friend and decided to visit for the first time. It's located inside Shin-Osaka Station and has a unique atmosphere that blends new and old. I noticed that there were many regular customers enjoying their meals. Although I came for the hamburgers, I was intrigued by the other menu items and ended up checking them all out. The tomato salad served as a side dish was impressive - both in appearance and taste. It was a delightful surprise! And then, the eagerly awaited hamburger arrived, wrapped in a dome-shaped aluminum foil. The presentation was fantastic. I was hungry so I dug in without hesitation. I was so impressed by the flavors! There are many other menu items I want to try, so I plan to come back soon. The young and energetic staff members created a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. I went around 13:30 and the restaurant wasn't crowded, so I was able to get in right away. The tomato salad used a whole tomato and was very generous in portion. It was delicious and refreshing. The hamburger was also delicious and filling, especially with the rice. After the lunch rush, drinks were included in the set which was nice.

I went to Shin-Osaka Station to see someone off. I ordered the Hamburg steak set and a whole tomato salad at Hyakunen Youshoku. The Hamburg steak is made with coarsely ground minced meat, carefully grilled after the order is placed, and wrapped in aluminum foil before being served on a hot iron plate. The Hyakunen Pudding is made with milk from the mountains of Miyama in Kyoto, and is slowly baked at a low temperature to create a rich, traditional pudding. When the aluminum foil is opened, the piping hot Hamburg steak appears. It is juicy and delicious, especially with the tasty demi-glace sauce. The pudding is firm and traditional, my favorite. It is delicious and has a comforting taste. It has been a while since I visited Shin-Osaka Station. It was bustling with people. I feel like taking a trip on the Shinkansen.

On this day, I had a private lunch meeting near Shin-Osaka Station. I usually reserve Sundays for rest and hardly ever go out, but I attended this meeting because it was close to my house. With the end of the pandemic in sight, there were long lines at all the lunch spots around Shin-Osaka Station due to tourists. After waiting in line for about 15 minutes, we finally got seated at this place. I ordered the A lunch set with Hagiwara Livestock Pork Fillet Cutlet (comes with a whole tomato salad and choice of rice or bread). The pork cutlet, known as "Hirekatsu" in Osaka, was thick, tender, and delicious without any unpleasant smell. The sauce was demi-glace, and it also went well with the mustard provided. The side dishes included potatoes and watercress. The highlight was the whole tomato salad, where the skin was peeled off making it soft and easy to eat. Even without teeth, you can enjoy it. The rice was also decent. Overall, it was a tasty and classic Western meal, but be prepared for long lines during lunchtime. We decided to move to a different location to continue our meeting. Traveling around Japan, this time I visited Kyoto and Nara via Osaka Itami Airport. Before heading to my accommodation in Kyoto, I first arrived at Shin-Osaka Station. It was an odd time, but I was getting hungry, so I decided to have a meal at Toyo-tei, which I had researched in advance. The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor of a station building called Arde, so it is easily accessible. The interior of the restaurant is quite spacious, and although it was a random time on a weekday afternoon around 4 o'clock, quite a few customers were inside. I ordered a set meal which included a main dish, tomato salad, dessert, and a drink. For the main dish, I chose the fillet beef cutlet. When it comes to Western-style food in the Kansai region, beef cutlet is a popular choice. I wanted to have Mont Blanc for dessert, but unfortunately, it was sold out. So, I opted for pudding instead. First came the tomato salad, which was a whole tomato salad with a single tomato. The tomato was fresh and juicy, with a mild acidity and no bitterness. The Aurora sauce drizzled on top was creamy with a slight tang, which complemented the salad well. The fillet beef cutlet was incredibly tender, with no odor and a rich flavor of beef fillet meat. The demi-glace sauce underneath was smooth and flavorful, enhancing the overall taste. When I ate the beef cutlet with the sauce, my mouth was filled with happiness. As for the pudding dessert, I wasn't expecting much based on its appearance when I ordered, but it pleasantly surprised me. It had the perfect texture - not too firm or too soft. The pudding was smooth and melted in my mouth, with just the right amount of sweetness and a rich flavor. If the pudding was this delicious, I can only imagine how good the Mont Blanc, which was sold out, would have been. The staff's customer service was excellent, and they made sure I had a pleasant dining experience. I was very satisfied with the delicious food. I sincerely hope that this restaurant will open in Tokyo as well. I highly recommend this restaurant.

My mother was going to Tokyo, so I accompanied her to see her off. A certain elephant-themed restaurant was full, so we went to Shin-Osaka. Shin-Osaka is known for its hamburg steak, which I hadn't had in 7 years. Eating it again, I realized how delicious the tomato was, and the sauce was rich, but the buttered potatoes were also delicious. Of course, the hamburg steak was great too. Western food is really good.

Arrived at 11:37 on a weekday, 7 people waiting. Entered at 11:55, left at 12:23. The restaurant was about 60% full, with 8 people waiting. I had the Hamburg Steak A Set with extra rice (comes with rice and tomato salad). The meal was delicious, with the Hamburg Steak being lean and meaty. The Demi-glace sauce was a perfect match. The tomato salad was also sweet and tasty. I will definitely come back again someday. Thank you for the meal.

After a long time, I felt like eating hamburger steak and convinced my wife. We visited Toyo-tei in the underground shopping area of Shin-Osaka Station. I ordered the "Hyakunen Western Hamburger Steak + Soup Set" and a "Super Lemon Sour." The hamburger steak was served on a hot plate and when I cut it open with a knife, a delicious smell filled the air, stimulating my appetite. The hamburger was juicy and the meat was tender, just the way I like it. The soup was mushroom soup, and my wife and I ended up fighting over it since she didn't order the set. It was very delicious and satisfying. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal.

This was my first time visiting. A friend recommended it as they have been to both Kyoto and here before. We had the prefix course for 2850 yen plus sparkling wine for 550 yen. The course included appetizers, main course, dessert, and drinks. The appetizer was salmon marinated, the main course was the signature dish, the hundred-year hamburger. The dessert was Mont Blanc (plus 150 yen) and coffee. The sparkling wine was cheap but delicious. Both the salmon marinated and the hamburger were generous in portion and delicious in taste. The capers on top of the salmon added a nice accent. The understated dressing really made the salmon's flavor stand out. The signature hamburger was juicy with just the right amount of demi-glace sauce, no wonder it's popular. However, the buttered potatoes on the side were a bit bland and monotonous with a whole piece per serving. The Mont Blanc dessert was incredibly rich and creamy, without meringue, and had chestnut paste with a hint of liquor, very delicious. In the end, it came out to be 3530 yen, so I can't say it was the best value, but I was satisfied. The service was also great, they even covered my bag with a cloth to prevent stains. However, it would be more appreciated if they had a cloth to prevent slipping on the knees. The paper napkins were very absorbent, but a bit too persistent. Overall, I was satisfied. Thank you.
