On the way back from a day trip visiting a company on the evening of 11.11.16, we decided to go to a Chinese restaurant in Namba Rakusa called "Chuoken Honpo". Since there were six of us and we wanted to relax, we went to the 2nd floor to a place called "Wakaran". It seems like the dishes are prepared on the 1st floor and then lifted up to the 2nd floor. The 2nd floor had many table seats, suitable for large groups or banquets. We each ordered one dish, and I chose the shrimp chili. The mapo tofu was quite spicy, so of course, the beer was flowing (laughs). The shrimp chili wasn't too spicy. The sweet and sour pork was also delicious. The dumplings had a slightly different sauce, not the usual vinegar soy sauce taste. For dessert, we had plate udon, a signature dish of Chuoken. I always enjoy the crispy noodles without mixing them. No matter how many times I eat it, Chuoken's plate udon is always the best. Thank you for the meal.

It wasn't like this a while ago! It feels very expensive now. Maybe it's because of the influence of chains like Ousho? When you order noodles, rice, and a side dish, it goes over 2000 yen! It does have a luxurious feel and atmosphere, but since the main dishes are champon and plate udon, it feels a bit mismatched? The portion size is great and the taste hasn't changed much, so that's good, but I wish the prices were lower.

I felt like having Chinese food for lunch, so I found a Chinese restaurant nearby and decided to stop by with my colleagues. The restaurant in the center of Namba is a long-established place, but the interior is clean and there was a lively atmosphere with many customers. The menu has a lot of options, but this time I ordered plate udon and it was delicious! However, the portion was quite large, so it might be too much for someone like me, a woman. Since it's near my office, I would like to go again!
