As December progresses, it starts to get really cold... the four seasons are truly amazing. It's so cold!! But no matter how cold it gets, I stick to wearing just a T-shirt and one outer layer on top, and jeans on the bottom. I don't like the cold, but I dislike wearing heavy layers even more. Anyway, on this day, I had to work early in the morning and before I knew it, it was almost 11 am. I was starving, and in the area around me, there were only chain restaurants like a certain beef bowl place or family restaurants open before 11 am. As I passed by this restaurant, I saw the sign saying "Open." I immediately went in. Inside, there were no other customers yet, and when I asked if they were open, they said they had just opened. Perfect timing. It was Ramen Day on Tuesdays! I'm easily persuaded, so even though I was planning on having champon, I ended up ordering ramen. The ramen set had three options: "A set" with 4 gyoza (+300 yen), "B set" with half fried rice (+320 yen), and "C set" with both (+500 yen). Usually, I would go for A or B, but feeling very hungry, I went for the C set. While waiting, I checked the addresses for New Year's cards on my iPhone and before I knew it, the food was already served. So fast! First, the ramen and the half fried rice arrived almost at the same time. It looked so delicious! Let's dig in! Starting with the ramen soup... Wow! It's so delicious! I've been eating a lot of black or red ramen here recently, but the plain ramen is the best! If you want to taste the richness of tonkotsu directly, this is the way to go! Could it be true that the first bowl of the day is always the best? The taste was so amazing that I even thought that! Well, maybe it's because I was extremely hungry. The thin noodles were also delicious. I think they are homemade noodles? Yes. The chashu was tasty, and the green onions too. I love the ramen here. I might have to avoid the black and red ramen for a while. After finishing the ramen, I started on the fried rice. The fried rice here is one of the best in Itoshima. It's delicious every time. This time too, it was delicious. I like that it has plenty of eggs, and the texture is perfect. The timing was just right for the iron pot of gyoza to arrive. I had the first gyoza while it was still piping hot. It's so hot! Eating it while huffing and puffing makes it taste even better. Even though it's bite-sized, it's quite impactful. Such delicious gyoza. Ramen, fried rice, gyoza, all so delicious and satisfying. Now, it was Tuesday, Ramen Day. The extra noodle refill was 60 yen (usually 100 yen). Even though I was planning to resist since I had the C set, I ended up ordering it anyway. "Extra noodles!" I called out. They served it directly into the bowl. "Normal" is the best here. Slightly firm is just right. Due to my love for the soup, whenever I get the extra noodles, the soup almost disappears, so I usually only get it once. But this time, I left some soup and... I couldn't resist calling out for the second round of "extra noodles!" I did it. Because... it's so incredibly delicious! Ramen, C set, two extra noodle refills... totaling 1,200 yen. It turned into a luxurious lunch, but the satisfaction and fullness were beyond measure. Well, I had worked hard since early morning, so I'll forgive myself. Thank you for the meal! The 100 yen extra noodle refill used to be the norm, but that's a thing of the past. Even in rural areas, it's becoming rare. Limited to certain days of the week, but... 60 yen is truly appreciated. Next time, I'll make sure to have champon! (laughs)
