I've been curious for a while now... the area around Tsutenkaku Tower. There's a longstanding traditional Japanese sweets shop with a lot of history, but it's in a building - quite impressive! The area has a lot of interesting scents, but this Japanese sweets shop has a nice atmosphere. I wonder if it's completely different from the famous Tsutenkaku Tower's bell-shaped shop... I wonder. The banana castella here is great! The size is perfect - it's huge! I got three of them. My partner got the bell-shaped manju with sweet bean paste and butter... the butter soaked into the dough is so delicious! Both are great for pairing with sake. These delicious Japanese sweets can be enjoyed by kids and adults alike.

I visited a takeout restaurant at 12:16. The shop is located near the Tsutenkaku Tower. I received a stamp for the Osaka Delicious Food Rally! The special benefit is only available on the day of the Osaka Marathon. I ordered one Sakura Anko Castella Bun, a spring limited item, and one bite-sized Osaka specialty Castella cake.

After having a meal at Grill Bon, I stumbled upon a Japanese sweets shop while returning to the parking lot. Inside, there was a wide variety of Japanese sweets lined up, and one of their specialties seemed to be the bell-shaped manju. I decided to buy it. Bell-shaped manju is a famous treat from Hidaka's Dojoji Temple in Wakayama Prefecture, known for the legend of Anchin and Kiyohime. Here, they also had the same bell-shaped manju, which brought back memories, so I bought a pack of 5. When I got home and cut one in half, I found that it was filled with plenty of sweet red bean paste, with just the right amount of sweetness and a moist texture. With so many temples in Tennoji, it's no wonder they chose this shape. Thank you for the delicious treat!

The shop "Tsuri Kane-ya Honpo" was born at the foot of Japan's oldest temple, Shitenno-ji. Established in 1900, they are famous for their "Tsuri Kane Manju" which is modeled after the large bell of Shitenno-ji, and their banana castella "Meidai Basho". I bought the Meidai Basho (324 yen). It is clearly different from the ones I usually eat from the supermarket, as it is large and has a substantial weight to it. The cake is fluffy and moist. The banana filling is flavorful, smooth, and melts gently in your mouth. It is made with carefully cooked Hokkaido adzuki beans, with the skins removed. This high-quality banana castella has a delicious taste that becomes addictive.

This is a long-established confectionery maker founded in 1900 near Shitennoji Temple in Osaka. I bought the "tsurigane manju," which is named after the temple's Dabon Bell. It is a manju with castella dough and sweet bean paste inside.

When it comes to souvenirs from Osaka, the top choice is undoubtedly the 551 Horai pork buns. However, when it comes to sweets, it's not easy to think of one. Personally, I like Madam Shinco and Dojima Roll. I decided to buy souvenirs from a well-established traditional Japanese confectionery shop in Shinsekai, as I wanted something different from the usual choices. The unique feature of this shop is the bell chime at the entrance! Since they specialize in bell-shaped manju buns, a bell rings when you enter the shop, which is quite refreshing! The shop sells a variety of traditional Japanese sweets, including the bell-shaped manju buns. Although the prices are a bit high, the sweets make for a great gift that will last for about a month. I bought a pack of three for 454 yen, and also got one for myself. The taste is as expected, simply delicious. The bell chime rings when you leave the shop too. It's so surreal!

Today's snack is Basho manju from Tsurigane-ya. I wonder who left this Basho manju as an offering for our family's memorial service. It's a large manju, equivalent to four regular ones. I had forgotten to open it, but decided to give in since it was nearing its expiration date. Wow, it's still as sweet as ever since the Showa era. I used to like it when I was a kid, but now...

Located at the foot of Tsutenkaku Tower, the main shop of "Tsuri Kane-ya Honpo" is famous for its "Tsuri Kane Manju" and another specialty called "Basho." I purchased these two items to offer at home. The shop has a modern look, and you can see through the counter into the factory where traditional Japanese sweets are made. I first tried the "Tsuri Kane Manju," which was filled with sweet red bean paste and had a deliciously chewy texture. The bell-shaped dough was also soft and springy. When I opened the package of "Basho," I was captivated by its nostalgic banana shape. I used to see this shape often as a child, but it's become rare nowadays, so it felt fresh. The large banana-shaped sweet was cut into four pieces with a knife and tasted delightful, with a banana-scented red bean paste filling. It was a happy reunion with these Osaka treats after a long time.

I purchased cherry blossom bean paste at Hankyu Department Store. The castella dough around it is firm rather than fluffy, with a good amount of firmness and chewiness. It doesn't have a chewy texture, but it has a satisfying appearance and a strong castella scent. The cherry blossom paste has a strong cherry blossom scent, making it a good cherry blossom-flavored treat.

*Waiting time* Omitted for event *Order & Price* Meidai Basho for 324 yen *Atmosphere of the shop* Omitted for event *Service* Omitted for event *Impression* It is the size of a real large banana and has a solid weight. The calorie count of 451kcal makes sense. It's dangerous to eat it all at once, but I did. The dough has a simple taste, and the banana filling is packed tightly. At first, it tasted delicious with a mild sweetness, but as I continued eating, I felt it was too sweet, heavy, and needed water. But I do like the taste. It was just too big. *Expectation* I recommend sharing it with someone.

On this day, the state of emergency was still in effect, but I had a necessary errand to run in Osaka. I didn't dine out and headed straight back, but since I was passing by the area near Tsutenkaku Tower, I thought I'd buy some Japanese sweets on the way back. I visited the main store of Tsuri Kane Manju, famous for its bell-shaped steamed buns. This long-established store was founded in 1900 and is located about a 5-minute walk north of Tsutenkaku Tower. When I entered the store, I was greeted by the sound of a gong. Items purchased: - Meidai Basho (including tax: 324 yen) Alongside the bell-shaped steamed buns, the signature item here is "Basho." I'm not sure why it's called "Basho" like a banana, but visually, it's just like the "Banana Castella" I used to eat as a child. It's heavy and luxurious, priced at over 300 yen each. The castella dough is moist and soft, with a pleasant hint of banana aroma. The white bean paste inside is made with Hokkaido beans, giving it a gentle sweetness that is quite delicious. - Tsuri Kane Manju (3 pieces, including tax: 454 yen) Named after the Dabon Bell at Shitennoji Temple, this is a specialty item. The castella dough here also has a fluffy texture, and the smooth red bean paste inside has a rich flavor, with just the right amount of sweetness. They accept PayPay.

I found a unique bell-shaped steamed bun inside a shop. I wonder why it's shaped like a bell? The shop also had freshly made ones you could eat. The bell-shaped bun is quite heavy even though it's just one. It has sweet red bean paste inside that spreads smoothly in your mouth. The outer castella dough is soft and fluffy without being dry, making it delicious! It tastes like a dorayaki, but with a lighter, fluffier texture. Souvenir steamed buns can be hit or miss, but this one is really tasty!

This year, there have been several sad farewells, so there have been many memorial services. This weekend is my uncle's memorial service, so I thought about offering some sweets. There is a famous Japanese sweets shop in my local area, so I decided to get some sweets from there to show my gratitude. Outside the shop, there are low tables and parasols displayed, and when you enter the shop, you hear the sound of a gong. The display case mainly features the famous bell-shaped manju and banana-shaped Basho sweets. I got a set of two bell-shaped manju and one Basho sweet packed in a box, and I got 10 sets. I requested to have the traditional wrapping with an outer wrapping paper. I paid for the sweets and plan to pick them up on Saturday on my way back from Shirahama, to use them on Sunday. I went to pick up the offering items that I had requested the other day on my way back from Shirahama. The traditional wrapping had the words "Offering for [Name]" written in light ink on top of the wrapping paper. I checked the words and the quantity, and then took them with me. Tomorrow, I will deliver them as they are.

Established in the 33rd year of the Meiji era! Amazing! It's a well-established shop! The packaging itself exudes a sense of dignity. When you tear open the bag, there is another transparent bag inside, neatly packed. Inside, there is plenty of smooth sweet bean paste, and it was very delicious! It's interesting that they are shaped like bells.

This weekend, I have a family event at my parents' house, so I stopped by a shop to pick up offerings for the occasion. When I entered the shop, a bell rang loudly once. On top of the showcase were individual items as well as sets in boxes. I chose a set that included five Basho cakes and five Tsurikane manju. The package was beautifully wrapped with my name written on the outer wrapping. Since I had parked my bicycle in front of the shop when I entered, they also put another bag inside the bag for me to carry easily. It had been a while since I last visited the shop, so in addition to the offerings for the event, I also got some Basho cakes and Tsurikane manju for my family to enjoy at home. The white bean paste inside the Basho cake was just the right level of sweetness and very delicious. Thank you for your help.

I started my own business in the 33rd year of the Meiji era at a historic place in Osaka known for its specialties. I got a bite-sized Kasutera in the shape of a cute bell (*´ω`*). When you eat it, it's like a bell-shaped manju, with a gentle sweetness from sugar and honey. It costs 324 yen, but it's a good deal with a decent amount. Thank you for the delicious souvenir. Purchased at Isetan Shinjuku. Temple bell manju with orange bean paste. The orange element in the bean paste contains a lot of sugar, making it more like jam. Honestly, it was quite different from my preference and left a strong impression.

On the middle day of the three-day weekend on November 4, I was tempted by the refreshing autumn weather and ended up going to the Kitashu Wholesale Market near Imamiya Ebisu Shrine for some sushi and drinks. I enjoyed a bottle of beer, Thai-style simmered fish, and a sushi set including horse mackerel. Next, I bought an eel bento box from a nearby eel restaurant for dinner. After a leisurely 1.5km walk in the warm sunshine towards the southeast, passing through Tsutenkaku and arriving at the "Janjan Yokocho" in Shinsekai. I came here to revisit a pub called "Fukumasa" where I had a morning set with beer and boiled eggs with salted kelp two weeks ago. Many people commented that they wanted to see a beautiful woman resembling the actress Yumi Adachi who helps out at the restaurant, so I hoped to take a photo with her. Unfortunately, she was not there that day, so I left the restaurant without ordering anything. Back under the crowded Tsutenkaku, there was a traditional Japanese confectionery shop called "Sohonke Tsurigane-ya Honpo". I bought some sweets including a high-quality banana castella called "Meidai Basho", a chestnut and sweet bean paste manju called "Tsurigane Manju", and a sweet potato paste manju called "Shouin Imo-an". It was a peaceful day filled with sushi, eel bento, and sweets in Shinsekai. Thank you for the delicious food!
