In Fukuoka, there are plenty of ramen shops and restaurants that serve Champon, but there are few places that offer Champon with motsu (offal). They do have Champon noodles as a finishing dish for motsu nabe though (laughs). This is a small horumon (offal) izakaya located in the vicinity of Kyokomachi Yotsukado (along Kyokuhon Street). They offer a variety of meat dishes including horumon and tail. For lunch, motsu Champon and motsu yakisoba are popular choices. They have a display case outside the shop showcasing sample dishes. The items displayed are live beer, motsu Champon, kimbara? which turned out to be spicy horumon stir-fry, and grilled tail. The grilled tail is made by marinating and grilling tenderly cooked beef tail, and it looks really delicious. The interior of the shop is long with a main counter seating of 8, and there appears to be a small tatami room at the back. It's not a very fancy place, quite casual. The menu includes a variety of carb options like noodles and meaty appetizers. There is also a selection of alcoholic beverages. The shop is open from 12 pm to 11 pm, making it suitable for daytime drinking. The motsu Champon costs 900 yen. It may seem plain at first glance with a small amount of vegetables and no colorful kamaboko or garnish veggies. However, the mung bean sprouts meticulously trimmed by the chef and the vegetables cut for easy eating with the noodles are satisfying. The soup has a refreshing taste with no strong animal odor, almost like a Japanese-style flavor. There are various parts of motsu included, making it enjoyable. It takes a little time, but seeing the chef carefully preparing each bowl and the taste of the soup, I was doubly satisfied. The table condiments include gyoza sauce, which at first I thought was Worcestershire sauce for Champon, but it turned out to be gyoza sauce (laughs). For Champon, only pepper is provided. I ordered the motsu Champon for 900 yen plus the spicy mode for an additional 50 yen. The spiciness is not just added as a topping but is cooked in from the beginning. It blends well and tastes delicious. It's more spicy than just a hint of spice. They also have seasonal limited dishes like the Vongole Champon, which includes beef tail and clams in the soup, offering a deep flavor. Thank you for the meal. The coin parking I used this time was around Kyokomachi Yotsukado, charging 100 yen for 30 minutes. There is a building nearby with Mos Burger and Tai Gen Shokudo on the first floor. I used to frequent Nuwara Eliya, a Sri Lankan restaurant on the second floor of this building.
