Wanted to visit the newly opened Sohoren Watanabe-dori store in Fukuoka's Chuo Ward, located in the same area as the popular supermarket Fukuoka Fukushoku. The restaurant operates with two sessions, lunch and dinner, and has a ticket machine in front of the store. If you order one yakisoba from the ticket machine, you can choose either soup, rice, raw egg, or fried egg as a free service, which is quite generous. Additionally, you can also order and pay with PayPay inside the restaurant, despite the presence of the ticket machine. According to the poster on the A-type signboard in front of the store, this is the only location in Fukuoka where they serve yakisoba on an iron plate, just like the main store. Upon entering, the interior of the restaurant is long and narrow, with two four-person table seats at the back, a total of 18 seats including a 10-seat counter, where the iron plate is placed in front of it. The owner and a female staff member were running the restaurant. Sitting at the counter, condiments like black pepper, chili oil, fried garlic, sauce, and pickled ginger were available on the table. The presence of fried garlic is particularly great! I ordered the yakisoba with soup, rice, gyoza, onsen tamago, raw egg, and spicy miso, and after a short wait, the yakisoba arrived. The noodles were nicely grilled on the iron plate, topped with bean sprouts, green onions, pork, sauce, and the simple yet flavorful Sohoren-style yakisoba was delicious. The crispy noodles and pork were delicious, especially when mixed with the yolk of the onsen tamago. The addition of fried garlic was amazing and the spicy miso added a junk food-like addictive flavor. Dipping the yakisoba in the raw egg like tsukemen was exquisite. Adding pickled ginger and trying the soy sauce ramen soup that came with the yakisoba was also enjoyable. I love Sohoren, and the unique flavor variations here were beyond amazing. If you haven't tried it yet, I highly recommend it. Thank you for the delicious meal! #Sohoren #Watanabe-dori #yakisoba #FukuokaGourmet #HitaGourmet #OitaGourmet #RamenLoverGaso-san

"Soufuren," a representative of the so-called "Hita Yakisoba" in Oita Prefecture, has many branches outside of Oita. The Watanabe-dori store in Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, opened in Reiwa 4th year, just a 2-minute walk from Tenjin Minami Station exit 6. Despite being called the Watanabe-dori store, it is not located along Watanabe-dori. It was named Watanabe-dori store because the address is in Watanabe-dori 5-chome. I visited around 3 pm on a weekday. It was quiet and comfortable. I ordered the "Yakisoba (regular)" (1,050 yen). As a bonus, you can choose one topping from raw egg, fried egg, rice, or soup. I chose to add a raw egg. Soufuren's yakisoba is made by boiling fresh noodles in the shop, adding oil, and grilling them until they have a crispy surface on a hot plate. Diced pork is stir-fried, then mixed with noodles and vegetables. Finally, sauce and an equal amount of water are added, which is the Soufuren way. Perhaps they aim for a steaming-like stir-fry method. They stick to using only bean sprouts and green onions for vegetables, which is also the Soufuren way. The thickness of the bean sprouts is close to that of the noodles, making it easy to eat with chopsticks. The crunchiness of the bean sprouts and the crispy texture of the grilled noodles gave it the usual Soufuren flavor. The thicker bean sprouts make it easy to handle with chopsticks and are enjoyable. The noodles were boiled to a firm texture and grilled to a relatively shallow level. The firm texture of the noodles is good for chewing. This Watanabe-dori store is the only one in Fukuoka City that claims to serve on a hot iron plate instead of a ceramic plate. A few months ago, at another store that served on ceramic plates, the yakisoba felt watery towards the end, but at this store, perhaps due to the iron plate, it wasn't as noticeable. The sauce used is a Worcestershire sauce-like sauce with no thickness. I enjoyed the spicy taste typical of Soufuren in Kyushu. There was a small amount of green onions at this store. It's not a bad idea to add pickled ginger or fried garlic provided at the table for a change. However, I personally didn't feel the need to use them, as I didn't feel anything lacking in the dish.

Today, I visited a yakisoba specialty restaurant. I found it nearby when I searched, so I decided to go in. It is a branch of the original shop where one of the top three yakisoba in Japan, Hita Yakisoba, originated. I didn't know there were three major yakisoba types in Japan... The interior of the restaurant has counter seats and table seats. The seating capacity is not very large. Customers came in alone or in groups. You buy a meal ticket outside the entrance before entering. Please note that you cannot use large bills. I ordered "yakisoba" + soup. When you order soup yakisoba, you get a choice of one complimentary item from raw egg, fried egg, rice, or soup. I chose the raw egg for the complimentary item as I wanted to mix it in. I also ordered the soup separately. As for the taste, the noodles were crispy compared to regular yakisoba. However, they were not hard like kata-yakisoba, but rather just normal yakisoba. (I found out later that this is a characteristic of Hita Yakisoba). The ingredients were simple. The rich sauce was also good. The noodles themselves were delicious. Mixing in the raw egg made the overall flavor milder and added a different taste experience. There were fried garlic chips and pickled ginger on the table for seasoning. I enjoyed the meal. Thank you for the delicious food.

I had a stable and cozy meal at this restaurant, enjoying yakisoba and gyoza. For each yakisoba dish, you can choose to have a raw egg, fried egg, rice, or soup as a side dish, which is a nice touch. I prefer the raw egg option. The taste was good as usual, but I couldn't help but think, "Was it this expensive before?" - yakisoba over 1000 yen is a bit pricey for a regular meal.

During the Obon holiday, many restaurants are closed, so I was turned away from one and ended up riding my bike around. I had a flyer from yesterday's newspaper organizing, so I decided to check out a local yakisoba specialty store in Hita. Yakisoba is something I usually make at home rather than eat out, but I do get a craving for it every now and then. They had a ticket machine outside, so I bought a regular yakisoba (1100 yen) and showed the flyer for a free gyoza service. I also got a free topping, so I went with a raw egg. The food was served on a hot iron plate, sizzling as it came out. Hita yakisoba has more bean sprouts than noodles and uses thick, crispy noodles. It's not as moist as regular yakisoba, so you can really enjoy the chewiness. But paying over 1000 yen for yakisoba is already a treat.

This group that operates within Kyushu serves moderately firm noodles that are delicious with a sense of stability. [Ordered Menu] Yakisoba (regular) for 1050 yen. It's just the right amount, and I usually add a free topping of a fried egg. It's so tasty. [Impressions] There's nothing but a sense of stability. When in doubt, I'll go there. [Intended Use Scene] For lunch as a satisfying noodle dish. [Location, Access] It's about next to Fukushoku.

After reading a famous manga about it online, I couldn't wait to try Sobaiko in Oita Hita! Finally, I made it happen! The manga mentioned that it's not just yakisoba, but Sobaiko, and it was spot on! Honestly, it exceeded my expectations in terms of taste. The noodles were crispy, and the balance with the bean sprouts was perfect. It was light and I could eat as much as I wanted. I ordered a "small" because I was drinking beer, but I should have gone for a "medium" (haha). I will definitely come back for more!

I went to Hita Yakisoba "Sofu-ren" located about an 8-minute walk from Nishitetsu Fukuoka Station. There are various yakisoba dishes all over the country, but Hita Yakisoba is my favorite. "Sofu-ren" is a popular yakisoba specialty store founded in 1957 in Oita Prefecture, with its headquarters in Hita City. They have 42 stores nationwide. The specialty of the restaurant is the carefully crafted "yaki" technique passed down since its establishment. They bake the surface of their homemade noodles until crispy, then top it with ingredients like pork and sauce. The menu consists only of "yakisoba," with options for regular or large servings. Adding toppings like raw egg or garlic is also recommended. The crispy noodles, sauce, and egg combine to create a rich and delicious flavor. The chunky pork pieces provide a satisfying bite, and the crunchy vegetables like bean sprouts complement the dish well. The garlic at the Watanabe-dori store is "fried garlic." Some stores use raw garlic, while others may not offer garlic at all, so there can be differences between locations. However, adding garlic enhances the flavor. Personally, I prefer the combination of raw garlic and raw egg. Adding plenty of pickled ginger makes it even more delicious. This yakisoba is something I occasionally crave. Thank you for the meal!

I ate yakisoba, which I love, at this restaurant. It was served hot on an iron plate. When you order yakisoba, you can choose to have rice, soup, raw egg, or fried egg for free. I wish I had chosen the fried egg instead of ordering a warm egg. The yakisoba here is crispy on one side, giving it a delicious texture. Being cooked on an iron plate makes it even crispier. The ingredients are pork, bean sprouts, and green onions. The sauce is not too sweet, giving it a refreshing taste. I always order a small portion, but I could easily eat a large one. It's similar to the yakisoba at Ape Tai in Tokyo, but also different. Thank you for the meal!

It was 3:00 pm on a weekday, but there were about two groups of Korean tourists at the restaurant. The Hita Yakisoba set is a famous gourmet dish? I ordered the Hita Yakisoba set with a meal ticket, and was told that those who order yakisoba in the restaurant can choose either rice, soup, raw egg, or fried egg for free, so I asked for a fried egg. The set came with rice and soup, so... It had been 8 years since I last had Hita Yakisoba, but it was still as delicious as ever with its crispy and moist texture! No matter which restaurant you go to, Hita Yakisoba always comes with bean sprouts, thinly sliced pork, and crispy noodles! Even the regular portion is quite generous! 🍜👍

Tonight, after work, I went to the original "So'ukoi" for Hita Yakisoba. I ordered a regular portion of Yakisoba, a bite-sized gyoza, and a highball. The total came to 1,890 yen including tax. I chose to add a fried egg on top. It was cooked on a hot plate and looked delicious. The Yakisoba wasn't as crispy as I expected, but it was still tasty. I sprinkled fried garlic on it for a flavor change. The gyoza was also tasty, but I felt that it lacked filling, so the cost performance was not great. I have some work to do when I get back to the hotel, so I decided to just have one highball. Thank you for the meal.

After drinking in Nakasu in Hakata, I felt like eating yakisoba and casually entered a yakisoba restaurant on Watanabe Street. I bought a 700 yen ticket for a small yakisoba and entered the store. I chose a fried egg as the extra topping for the yakisoba. I sat at the counter seat at the back, and I could hear the delicious sound of the yakisoba being cooked. It arrived in about 10 minutes. The yakisoba was cooked a bit firm, and it went well with the fried egg. I enjoyed it very much.

Suiyokai, which has its main store in Oita, has several stores in Oita prefecture, but surprisingly, there are more stores in Fukuoka prefecture! Among them, I visited the Watanabe-dori store. Yakisoba (regular size) 1050 yen One bite gyoza 390 yen During lunchtime, you can get soup, rice, raw egg, and fried egg for free, so be sure to try the raw egg. This is exclusive to the Watanabe-dori store. Dip the crispy yakisoba cooked on an iron plate into the beaten egg and slurp it up for a heavenly experience. Non-alcoholic drinks are not on the menu, so you can buy them from the vending machine outside and bring them in.

Located in the area of 5-1-22 Watanabe-dori, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, about a 10-minute walk from the Nishitetsu Fukuoka Tenjin Station! One of the most famous yakisoba dishes in Japan is the Hita Yakisoba, which is always featured on TV when yakisoba is mentioned! The origin of Hita Yakisoba is from the yakisoba at "Sofukoi"! The difference between this yakisoba and yakisoba from other prefectures is that the noodles are cooked crispy on an iron plate, combined with ingredients that have been pre-cooked on the iron plate, and finally, the special sauce is mixed in while everything is being stirred together! The "Sofukoi" group has been established for over 60 years! They have a total of 42 stores in the northern Kyushu area, centered around Hita, including directly managed stores and affiliated stores~ Recently, they have also been expanding franchise stores, so in the near future, you may be able to enjoy "Sofukoi" yakisoba anywhere in Japan. This time, I visited the newly opened "Watanabe-dori store" in August 2022! The exterior is on the first floor of a mixed-use building, with a ticket machine at the entrance. Inside, there are counter seats and table seats, giving off a fresh atmosphere. I ordered the "yakisoba (regular size) with raw egg and rice". First bite, as always, no matter which store you go to, it is delicious~ Mix in the raw egg and enjoy the crispy and chewy noodles and ingredients such as bean sprouts and pork together! The thickly sliced pork is delicious~ Mixing in garlic fries and pickled ginger halfway through adds a nice flavor change. It's great that all stores maintain the delicious quality of "Sofukoi"! I recommend trying out either of their stores. Thank you for the meal. Enjoy Soba Life☆

I visited the Soba restaurant Soufuren on Watanabe Street. It opened last August, and it had been a few years since I last ate there. The noodle portions come in small (700 yen), regular (1050 yen), and large (1350 yen) sizes. The regular size is 100g, and the large size is 150g. I wanted to make sure I could finish my meal, so I asked about the portion sizes beforehand. My friend can eat a lot, but we had other plans afterwards, so I didn't want to overeat. There are also free toppings available, such as soup, rice, raw egg, or fried egg. I chose the fried egg this time. The sizzling sound of the noodles being cooked on the hot plate was enticing. I ordered the yakisoba, and it was served on the hot plate, which is the best way to enjoy it. The set meal comes with a large portion, so it had a lot of vegetables. The crunchy bean sprouts were a nice touch, and the pickled ginger added a great flavor. Do you like to mix the pickled ginger in, put it on top, or eat it on the side? After I finished my meal, I remembered the tsuke yakisoba, which I also wanted to try. I'll have to remember to order that next time. There are also coffee shops open late nearby, like REC and Manu, so it's very convenient. Unfortunately, a coffee shop that used to be across from REC is now a parking lot. I didn't realize Soufuren had a location in Tenpaku, so I thought it was only in Fukuoka. It would be great if they opened a branch in Nagoya as well. I wish I had noticed sooner that there are so many interesting places around here. I have yet to post about another place I discovered after visiting there. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Egg-dipped yakisoba! Try it at Soukoren Watanabe-dori store in Fukuoka. I ordered the yakisoba (regular size) for ¥1050, and got a free choice of soup, rice, raw egg, or fried egg as a service. I chose the one-bite gyoza (8 pieces) for ¥390, which was easy to eat. They also provide extra sauce, pickled ginger, and fried garlic on the table for flavor variation. The limited edition fried egg topping is unique to Watanabe-dori, and dipping the yakisoba in the egg while eating is a must-try experience. The egg-dipped yakisoba had a sukiyaki-like taste and was delicious! ☺️

In the area of Nishi Nakasu and Tenjin Minami, Soudokoi has appeared. It's convenient to have Soudokoi within walking distance from Nakasu when you want to finish your night with something other than ramen or udon, and the sauce flavor is recommended, especially with a fried egg topping. This is just a personal opinion.

I tried going to Sōfūren for the first time and it was delicious! The set meal with rice and miso soup was great, and the miso soup was also delicious. The portion size was quite generous and I left feeling full! If you want to eat yakisoba in Tenjin, this is the place to go! There are many ways to customize the flavor, so you can enjoy a variety of tastes!

"Yakisoba Regular (¥1050) and Yakisoba Large (¥1350) are available. You can choose either soup, rice, raw egg, or fried egg as a complimentary service. Last August, the famous original 'Hita Yakisoba' shop 'Sofukoi' opened on Watanabe Street! Try their signature 'Sofukoi Yakisoba' with homemade noodles cooked to perfection and simple ingredients. I chose the complimentary raw egg. You can also try it with toppings or enjoy it yakisoba-style with the separately provided fried garlic, which pairs perfectly with the yakisoba and is incredibly delicious! It's meant for changing the flavor, but I wish I had sprinkled it on from the start because it was so good."

This time, I went to the Watanabetori branch of Sohoren located at 5-1-22 Watanabetori, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City. I don't remember what kind of shop was here before, but there is a ticket machine in front of the store, so I purchased the yakisoba regular size for 1050 yen. You can also use PayPay, but please notify the staff inside if you do. Inside the store, there are 8 counter seats at the back and table seats in the front. When you hand over your food ticket, you can choose either soup, rice, raw egg, or fried egg as a free service, so I chose the fried egg. From the open kitchen counter, you can hear the sizzling sound of the teppan and the aroma of the sauce. After about 10 minutes, the piping hot yakisoba is served. The ingredients include bean sprouts, green onions, and pork. The noodles are thin like the bean sprouts, and half of them are cooked thoroughly. The seasoning is not too strong, with no mayonnaise, etc. (although it is available as a topping). Add some pickled ginger and sauce from the table. Finally, sprinkle some fried garlic for a change in flavor. The regular size portion is gone in no time, so depending on your appetite, the large size set might be better. It was a delicious meal.

Located in Nakasu, Fukuoka, "Sofukoi Watanabe-dori Branch" opened in August last year. Their Hita Yakisoba is not stir-fried but baked, giving it a crispy texture. I tried their limited Watanabe-dori style Tsukemen Yakisoba, which was delicious when dipped in egg. During lunchtime, you can choose one of the following for free when you order Yakisoba: soup, rice, raw egg, or sunny-side-up egg. Price ranges from 1,000 to 1,500 yen per person. - Name: Sofukoi Watanabe-dori Branch - Hours: 11:00-16:00, 17:00-23:00 - Phone: 092-406-3474 - Closed on Mondays - Address: 5-1-22 Watanabe-dori, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka - Parking: Not available
