I visited on a Sunday afternoon, there is no parking lot. It is located one street east of Shinsaibashi-suji Shopping Street. Shinsaibashi-suji is mostly filled with tourists from overseas. I ordered a cheesecake for 660 yen including tax and a blend coffee for 550 yen including tax. The set discount was 50 yen, so the total was 1,150 yen including tax. I finally got to visit a restaurant I've always wanted to go to. All the cakes looked delicious, but I ordered the Basque cheesecake, bitter chocolate gâteau, and strawberry shortcake. The strawberry shortcake had just the right amount of whipped cream, with fresh strawberries inside, and was incredibly tasty. The Basque cheesecake had a perfect balance of a slightly firm surface and creamy cheese, making it delicious as well. The bitter chocolate gâteau was on the firmer side, and I found out why it came with a knife. It was more suited for coffee than tea. They were all delicious, so I'd like to try different cakes next time. Thank you for the meal.

Today, I went to Pound House to eat cake at a cafe! It's close to my house and I used to come here occasionally in the past, but it's been a while since I last visited! There were many cake options to choose from, but I was in the mood for chocolate!! I couldn't find a Mont Blanc-like cake though... I also ordered a hot drink!! I noticed that there were seats on the second floor in addition to the first floor. Perhaps the second floor is for smoking? *The restroom was on the second floor. Looking at the menu, I saw that they had parfait options, but it seemed that those who wanted to eat it would be directed to a nearby separate store. (I later confirmed that it was indeed right there). The parfait looked delicious, so I might want to try it there next time...✨️

I tried their parfait for the first time and the soft serve was incredibly rich and delicious. We shared it little by little and had a great time. Chocolate cake, shortcake, strawberry tart, apple pie, mango soft serve with marmalade jam parfait, and vanilla soft serve parfait. The cereal inside matched well. The macaron shell and wafer were really satisfying. The parfaits here were truly amazing and delicious! They made our chatting time with friends even more enjoyable. I received a cake from Pound House as a souvenir! There were two types of chocolate cakes, Basque cheesecake, and Mont Blanc, which got me really excited! The chocolate sponge cake had a strong rum flavor, making it a unique and adult-friendly chocolate cake. Overall, the cakes were not too sweet and had a refreshing taste, perfect for adults. I found a place called "Pound House Shinsaibashi Main Store" that served cakes on their menu. It was a trendy place and I was a bit intimidated at first, thinking it might not be suitable for someone like me. But they had a variety of cakes on the menu that matched what I was looking for. Surprisingly, it was a smoking-friendly establishment (with separate smoking areas), which was a pleasant surprise as I had assumed a trendy cake place would be non-smoking. They also served alcohol. I ordered a Gin Ricky and a strawberry shortcake. While I usually prefer Mont Blanc or Sachertorte, I chose the strawberry shortcake this time because it reminded me of the cake in the movie. It was a perfect representation of a strawberry shortcake that everyone would agree on. I enjoyed it while reflecting on the movie. The restaurant had not only a first floor but also a second floor with a spacious interior. We ordered the chestnut Mont Blanc out of two varieties, while my companion ordered the strawberry shortcake. The chestnut Mont Blanc was disappointing as it was more sweet than chestnut-flavored. I prefer a Mont Blanc where the chestnut flavor spreads gently with more aroma and richness overpowering the sweetness. Honestly, it was a letdown, but maybe the other chestnut Mont Blanc would have been a hit.
