I am contemplating where to go for lunch with a colleague who loves ramen. As of March 2019, we decide to visit "Fukuraie" which is ranked 3rd in the Kokuraminami Ward. The restaurant has 5 counter seats, 2 tables for 4 people each, and 2 sunken tables. It is unusual to see two types of sesame on the table, regular and ground sesame. The menu includes options like Ramen for 550 yen, Wonton Men for 800 yen, Char Siu Men for 800 yen, Char Siu Wonton Noodles for 1,100 yen, Spicy Ramen for 800 yen, Spicy Wonton Men for 1,000 yen, Spicy Char Siu Men for 1,000 yen, Fish and Pork Bone Ramen for 800 yen, Spicy Fish and Pork Bone Ramen for 900 yen, Fried Rice for 550 yen, Homemade Dumplings for 400 yen, Chicken Nanban for 500 yen, Mayo Bowl for 400 yen, Tama Bowl for 450 yen, and more. There are also 4 types of sets: A, B, C, D. We recommend adding cheese for 100 yen to the Spicy Ramen. My colleague orders the B set with Ramen and Mayo Bowl for an additional 300 yen. The food is served in less than 10 minutes, with 2 slices of Char Siu, Menma, half-boiled egg, and bean sprouts. I can't find the cheese, but since the staff mentioned it when serving, I start eating without worrying. Although the menu says "spicy," it's not that spicy (laughs). I can taste the spiciness at first, but it also has a rich flavor which is delicious. The cheese sinks into the soup and clings to the noodles. The noodles are curly and slightly chewy. They are a bit soft, but that's fine for me, as I like softer noodles. The banner in the restaurant says "Traditional Call-Back Soup," which may be the secret behind the soup's richness. The slightly soft noodles and tasty soup make it a ramen that suits my taste. It was a delicious meal.
