In March 2022, I had lunch at a renovated izakaya near Nakasu Kawabata Station, Gion Station, and Kego Station. They pride themselves on using fresh fish from Nagahama Market and vegetables from Asakura to create seasonal dishes. The first floor offers standing counter seats and veranda seats that can be used from 3:00 PM. For lunch, they offer dine-in, takeout, and delivery options. This time, I tried the "Hanakago Gozen" lunch menu for 980 yen. It includes seasonal side dishes, miso soup, and a choice of two "Instagrammable" onigiri from a variety displayed in the restaurant. I selected "scallop" and "char siu". The well-balanced side dishes, miso soup, freshly fried chicken, and tamagoyaki were delicious. They also serve homemade tofu made from soy milk. The tightly packed onigiri had a satisfying texture. The fact that it comes with original blended tea is also nice. The individual onigiri (starting from 180 yen) for takeout is also popular. The salmon tartare cutlet sandwich looked delicious too. The restaurant is called Koubashiya Light and is located at 8-19 Reisencho, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture. They are open from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM and from 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM (hours may vary, please confirm). They have irregular holidays (please confirm). It is a 5-minute walk from Gion Station Exit 2. They have a sister restaurant called "Koryoriya Sonohen". For more information and images, check out the blog post at Hakata Onna Bushi.

The store had a stylish and cozy exterior. I went for lunch on a holiday and by around noon, there were about three groups of customers lining up. The interior was divided into private rooms, making it easy to talk. The food was delicious and satisfying.

I visited a house maker in the town of Reisencho for a tour, which surprisingly took longer than expected and ended before noon. I was looking for a place for an early lunch, but many restaurants were closed on Sundays and some had lunch services only on weekdays. While walking, I stumbled upon this restaurant that was featured in a gourmet magazine last month and was open on Sundays too! The restaurant had a transparent glass front, and I could see the available counter seats from outside, so I decided to go in. I ordered the "Hanakago Gozen" (1000 yen) which came with a pot of cold green tea and a selection of onigiri. There were various fillings for the onigiri displayed on a separate table, making it hard to choose. I picked the fried horse mackerel and chicken nanban onigiri and handed them to the staff. The meal came in a single basket with the onigiri I chose, salad, miso soup, and 6 small side dishes, which I really enjoyed. The small dishes were well-prepared and delicious. What's more, the price of each onigiri was only 250 yen, making it quite a good deal. As it got past 12 o'clock, more customers started coming in, but I found out that the restaurant had seating on the second and third floors, so it had a good capacity. I was impressed by the fact that they were open for lunch on Sundays and seemed to be doing well.

A stylish izakaya in Gofukumachi. The first floor is a rice ball shop, and the second floor has private and semi-private rooms for dining. We ordered a sashimi platter, potato salad, grilled Hakata Kawa Midori chicken with rock salt, snow crab miso cream croquettes, and rolled sushi. Everything was delicious, but the rolled sushi in the photo was very satisfying and incredibly tasty. The souvenir with the fortune slip we received when leaving was also delicious and made us happy. There are many other appetizing dishes on the menu, so I would like to go back to enjoy them with rice balls next time.

On Sunday, March 5th, after finding out that the original restaurant I planned to visit was fully booked, I decided to go to a bookmarked place called "Kobashiya". The restaurant had a big sign that read "ROBATAYAKI Kobashiya" and a lantern sign at the entrance that said "Kobashiya Light". The first floor had only 4 counter seats, while the second floor had private rooms and the third floor had table seating. I had to wait for about 40 minutes before being seated at the counter, but luckily I got a quiet seat at the back. I ordered the "Kagome Gozen" which allowed me to choose two onigiri. I picked the egg and eel onigiri from the variety displayed on the counter. The meal also included a miso soup with carrots, daikon, cabbage, konjac, a side of tofu, kombu with dried radish, squid mentaiko with seaweed, and corn croquettes. Everything tasted homemade and delicious, and the fact that there was a long line outside made sense after experiencing the quality of the food.

It's been a while since I visited here. Oh, it's delicious as always. The quality is consistent. The chef's recommended dish, available by reservation only, is really amazing. They cook with seasonal ingredients right in front of you. The drinks also go well with the food. Thank you for the meal. I will visit again.

I didn't have a reservation when I arrived for lunch around 1 pm, but I was seated at the counter on the first floor in about 10 minutes. I ordered the Hana Kago Gozen, which included a choice of 2 onigiri, 5 small side dishes, salad, and miso soup, all for 1000 yen. I was very satisfied with the meal as the onigiri came with pickles and looked very appealing. They also offer takeout, which would make a great gift. You can purchase them individually for 250 yen each or in sets of 6 for 190 yen each. It seems like pre-ordering would save you from waiting. I plan to buy some as gifts next time. ☀️

I visited around 1:30 pm on a regular day. There was one seat available at the counter. I ordered the Hana Kago set meal. There were only 3 onigiri left. It was a close call. The meal was very healthy and nutritious. The rice in the onigiri was chewy and delicious!

I had the Omakase course for 3300 yen and the all-you-can-drink option for 1650 yen, all prices include tax. The sashimi, simmered tripe, seafood croquettes, grilled chicken, etc. were delicious. I chose my favorite type of the famous rice ball. It was a delightful meal. Thank you for the feast.

While walking around the Hakata area, I happened to come across this restaurant. The lunch menu offers one option, with the option to add dessert for an additional 500 yen. The lunch menu, called Hanakago Gozen, allows you to choose two types of onigiri, which was a tough decision because they all looked delicious. The restaurant has a second floor, but I was seated at the counter on the first floor as a walk-in customer. Sitting at the counter, I could enjoy watching the kitchen staff at work. The Hanakago Gozen was a delight, with a variety of onigiri, miso soup, and numerous side dishes that really whetted my appetite. The soy milk pudding dessert was so good that I wanted seconds. Everything was delicious, and I left feeling very satisfied. You can also get the onigiri to go. Thank you for the meal.

I went to Roroka-ke Koya Reisen-ten on November 17, 2022 (Thursday). This restaurant is located along the road from Reisen Park to Oohiradori in Hakata-ku, Fukuoka. The first floor has counter seats, while the second floor has table seats. There are three lunch menu options, and I chose the Hana Kago Gozen. After placing my order, I selected two onigiri from a basket filled with onigiri. The Hana Kago Gozen arrived, looking very luxurious and visually appealing. The onigiri I chose were shrimp and eel. The miso soup was filled with pumpkin, mushrooms, daikon radish, carrots, shiitake mushrooms, cabbage, and more. The meal also included kinpira gobou, five-grain tofu, vegetable salad, tamagoyaki, dried fruits, and more. It was a healthy, mostly vegetable-based vegan meal. I could eat heartily without feeling guilty. The shrimp, lotus root, and shiso onigiri had a delicious hint of spiciness. I saved the most luxurious one for last! It was a lunch full of various flavors and healthy ingredients. The restaurant is located at 8-19 Reisen-cho, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka. It has irregular holidays.

I had lunch at "Koya" which I was interested in after seeing it on Instagram. I made a reservation over the phone before heading there. When I arrived at exactly 11 o'clock, there was a customer outside choosing onigiri, but I was the only one dining in the restaurant. Since I was alone, I was guided to the counter on the 1st floor. I hesitated between getting dessert or the Hana-kago set for 980 yen (choose 2 onigiri, miso soup, small side dishes). There were many colorful and vibrant onigiri to choose from, and I finally decided on the chicken nanban and simmered egg with pickled vegetables. There were also onigiri with yangnyeom chicken or large shrimp, all of them looked so delicious that it was hard to choose. The onigiri made with multigrain rice was very filling and substantial, and the small side dishes were plentiful. Each dish was prepared with care, and the miso soup was also full of ingredients, very delicious. The interior of the restaurant was stylish and cute. The staff and the atmosphere of the restaurant were very good. For takeout, if you buy 3 or more onigiri, they will wrap them in a furoshiki, so I thought it would be nice to try the takeout onigiri next time. I will definitely be a repeat customer.

When I visited Hakata, I went to the stylish lunch spot "Koka" ✨ I was obsessed with onigiri, so I did some research and decided to definitely go here! The terrace seats on the first floor and the variety of onigiri displayed are impressive! Just looking at them gets you excited ✨ The types of onigiri change daily, but there are so many varieties and they all look delicious and cute, so it's hard to choose (;_;) You can get onigiri to go individually, but you can also choose two and have lunch in the restaurant! The open counter on the first floor is refreshing, and the second floor and above have semi-private rooms where you can relax ✨ The lunch "Hanakago Gozen" comes with side dishes and onigiri in a basket, which is super cute ♡ I chose onigiri with boiled egg and hamburger! There are 8 side dishes including 2 types of onigiri, and they were all delicious and of high quality ✨ It seems like they also serve dinner here, so I definitely want to try it and have dinner here too (*^^*) This is a restaurant I would love to visit again when I go to Hakata ✨

✔️ Overflowing rolled sushi / half (¥1280) ✔️ Wagyu ribeye rolled in Korean seaweed (¥1680) ✔️ Numbing mapo tofu (¥720) ✔️ Leafy young corn (¥580) ✔️ Smoked potato salad (¥480) etc... I was surprised by the variety of the menu at this restaurant, which was recently renovated. The 1st floor has a standing bar and a veranda seat where you can casually drop by, the 2nd floor has cozy igloo-style private rooms perfect for dates or girls' nights out, and the 3rd floor has completely private rooms ideal for business meetings or entertaining guests. Each floor has a unique design and menu, making it quite interesting. This time, we used a private room on the 2nd floor. I was amazed by the wide range of menu options, all of which not only look impressive but also taste delicious. We also stopped by the 1st floor on the way out, and the veranda-style seating looked lovely and perfect for the upcoming season. They also offer colorful onigiri and salmon sandwiches for takeout, which looked equally delicious.

I enjoyed a highball near the entrance of the first floor (standing bar), feeling the spring breeze. I didn't have any specific snacks, but I had a great time. The staff were kind, even providing cushions. It seems like there are private rooms on the second floor, so I would like to visit and relax there next time.

The restaurant "Koya" in Reisencho has been renovated to have a standing bar on the 1st floor. I took a stroll around the Reisencho area after a long time and found that "Koya" had been renovated. The 1st floor is now a standing bar and take-out counter. There is also a small veranda space, which would be nice in any season other than winter. I had a draft beer and the sesame mackerel for 580 yen. It had a nice accent, maybe with shiso leaves? It was delicious. Of course, I also enjoyed a glass of Hakkaisan sake. It was really good. And there was no table charge. I will definitely come back again. - Restaurant Information: Koya Phone: 092-260-8756 Address: 8-19 Reisencho, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City Business Hours: 18:00-04:00

Hello everyone. Good evening. It's been a while. Recently, I've been eating and eating and eating as usual. Oh, it's so good. I visited here again after a long time. It seems like it was renovated in March. I casually stopped by the standing bar on the 1st floor. This is... cheap. Delicious. Fast. I spent time drinking alcohol on the veranda. Yeah. The best. I also took out onigiri on my way home. Yeah. The best. I will visit again.

I was curious about a restaurant that had been renovated, so I decided to go in. I thought it might have a Chinese-style name, but it turns out it's pronounced "Koubashiya" - my mistake! - Hakata specialty Gomosaba - Assorted sashimi - Thick-cut grilled beef tongue - Wagyu rib and fresh sea urchin Korean seaweed roll - Rare tempura of sawara fish - Grilled octopus - Assorted pickles The appetizer was a platter of three items: firefly squid, kimchi, and scallop. The recommended sesame mackerel was beautifully presented and the sashimi included nodoguro, while the thick beef tongue had a satisfying texture. The Wagyu rib and fresh sea urchin Korean seaweed roll is wrapped in Korean seaweed instead of regular seaweed. The octopus was simply grilled but tasty, although my jaw got tired after the beef tongue! That was a personal misjudgment on my part. However, each dish had a generous portion for the price, and I quickly became full. It's what you call good value for money! They also put effort into their sake selection, and when I asked the staff for a recommendation, they brought out "Koueikiku Tasogare Orange," a new sake for spring that had just arrived that day. It's not widely available, so it's quite rare! They highly recommended it, saying it was very fruity and likely to appeal to women. The freshness of the sake was also enjoyable. Even my friends who don't usually drink sake praised it, saying it was easy to drink, so I think it's easy to recommend to sake beginners as well. The first floor is standing-only, while the second and third floors have private rooms, making it very convenient. The open space on the first floor seems perfect for a quick drink. I heard the menu is slightly different there, so I'll have to try it out next time. Thank you for the meal.

First visit to "Kouya Light"! It seems they recently renovated. It's a three-story building, with the first floor for takeout and standing drinking, the second floor with private rooms, and the third floor available for private reservations. It's a very versatile and convenient place to use! The second floor has cozy private rooms like igloos where you can relax. The menu is incredibly extensive, it's surprising! First, the appetizer with baby scallops, firefly squid, and homemade kimchi - just this alone is satisfying! The famous Hakata sesame mackerel and assorted sashimi were beautifully presented and delicious. You can enjoy both fish and meat dishes, and each dish is generously portioned, so the satisfaction level is very high! They also have a wide variety of drinks. The first floor is for standing drinking, so there are plenty of menu items you can enjoy quickly. The shrimp and pork belly skewers were delicious! The colorful rice balls are too cute, it's hard to decide which one to choose! You can also stand and drink, or sit and enjoy the view outside, which is the best! This place is the perfect spot on warm nights. The glasses are also too cute, I wanted to take them home. Can't wait to go back again! Thank you for the meal!
