June 2nd. Cloudy Sunday. I am at Kizu Market. It's 11 o'clock, so it's brunch time. I suddenly felt like visiting Toshijiro-san for the second time. I had the meat roll set at Mitsuwadokoro the other day, so today I wanted to try it here. As I glanced at the long line for the seafood bowl, I noticed the Chinese menu signs becoming more prominent. I entered the restaurant. The seats are divided into kitchen side and wall side, and there was no one there. I sat at the back and checked the menu. They offer grilled fish, simmered fish, meat rolls, omelettes, topped rice bowls, salmon with roe, sea urchin rice bowl, sea urchin and salmon roe rice bowl, and beef tendon rice bowl. Each item can also be ordered separately. Tempura options include shrimp, conger eel, Japanese whiting, fish cake, onion, and pickled ginger. I decided on the meat roll set from the beginning. They have single and double options, like whiskey. I ordered the meat roll single set with miso soup. They also offer clam soup and other choices, which is nice. The set arrived after a while. The rice came in a bowl similar to a rice bowl. The meat roll was served on a shallow plate, soaked in broth. This style is similar to Mitsuwadokoro's. But here, there is more broth. It's nice that there are lots of green onions sprinkled on top. The miso soup came in a very large bowl. Now, let's dig in. First, the meat roll. It has a fluffy texture. The beef is thinly seasoned but has a sukiyaki-like flavor. When you taste the egg, beef, and broth together in your mouth, it's irresistible. It's delicious. The miso soup has large ingredients, making it feel like a main dish on its own. The unique feature here is the abundance of bean sprouts. I don't usually put a lot of bean sprouts in my miso soup, so the smell bothered me a bit. But with plenty of rice, it made a satisfying brunch. Thank you for the meal.
