On this day, I had a business trip to Fukuoka and Saga. After finishing work, I decided to have dinner with a local friend at this dumpling restaurant. First, we toasted with a glass of draft beer. They had Ebisu Dry on tap, so I went with that. It was a hot day in Fukuoka, so the Ebisu beer was especially refreshing. I quickly finished my glass and ordered another one. Let's order some food as well. - Hakata Gyoza (24 pieces) - Vinegar Motsu (tripe) - Horse mackerel sashimi The gyoza comes in four sizes: small pot, small pot plus, large pot, and large pot plus. They are served on a hot iron plate, so be careful not to touch it! When the person next to us tried to touch the plate after finishing their gyoza, the staff immediately stopped them. The gyoza were small in size, so we finished 24 pieces between the two of us. The crispy hot dumplings went perfectly with the beer. The vinegar motsu is a must-try in Hakata. The horse mackerel sashimi was recommended by the staff, and it was a great choice. It had a nice firm texture and tasted very fresh. It was delicious with the slightly sweet soy sauce typical of Kyushu. We also ordered the yakimeshi as a final dish, and it was amazing as well. The fried rice was packed with ingredients like char siu pork, and we could have eaten more and more of it. Even though we had quite a few beers, we finished everything with ease. Everything I ate was delicious. The service was fast, the restaurant was clean, and the prices were very reasonable. I had a great time dining there! Everything was really tasty, but the dumplings, vinegar pork trotters, and fried rice were exceptional. The dumplings were so good that I could eat as many as I wanted. I will definitely go back!

Dinner on a holiday. I didn't have a restaurant in mind and ended up at "Yukoro," which was really popular a few years ago, right? It was my first visit. It was around 9 pm, but almost all the seats were taken. - Gyoza - Mr. Lee's kimchi - Chicken wings - Fried rice It was hot that day, so we toasted with beer! And Mr. Lee's kimchi was spicy! Really spicy! Perfect for drinking. The chicken wings were well-marinated and very tender. Falling off the bone. The gyoza was ordered in a large pot. They were served in an iron pot, so they stayed hot! Crispy and juicy, you can eat them quickly. They were so delicious that we ended up ordering another plate. The fried rice was also cooked in a wok and it was amazing~ (^^♪ Thank you for the meal!

It had been a while since I visited Sumiyoshi and Yuushin, which are very popular and sometimes require reservations to get in. The other day, I happened to be passing by, so I decided to try my luck without a reservation and was able to get a seat at the counter. I usually order the same thing every time I visit - the famous Hakata Gyoza. These bite-sized gyoza are cooked on a hot iron pot, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, making it easy to eat as many as you want. I always make sure to order the scallop daikon as well - it's a must-have. The tebasaki and fried rice are also delicious dishes that make you want to go for seconds.

"Alicia's Food Log: We had previously tried to go to this restaurant but couldn't get in, so we made a reservation for 19:30. We arrived early and they were able to accommodate us earlier. Even though the time was adjusted, the restaurant was fully booked. Many people were being turned away without a reservation. The gyoza served on a hot iron plate was delicious. The size was bite-sized and the skin was crispy. Since it was served on a hot plate, it stayed hot for a long time! Be careful if you have a sensitive tongue. The grilled hormone and other dishes were also satisfying and I didn't get tired of them. The group of four girls next to us kept ordering more gyoza. The light and hot gyoza has a taste that becomes addictive."

Visited with a friend from Tokyo and wanted to introduce them to the iron pot dumplings in Hakata. Chose this place and it was about a 10-minute walk from Hakata Station. As soon as we arrived, we ordered four servings of iron pot dumplings. The food was served quickly and was delicious, especially the hot iron pot dumplings. The other dishes were also tasty. Although the variety of alcohol was not extensive, we were satisfied. Definitely want to go back again.

In the past, I couldn't get in without a reservation, but the atmosphere inside the restaurant was stylish. I called a bit late on this day and was told I could come in, so I headed there. I arrived before 9 pm and sat at the counter. Out of 10 seats, there were 2 available. Only one table out of 6 was empty. There were private rooms, but they were all occupied. I ordered a draft beer (Ebisu) for 500 yen, Hakata gyoza (7 pieces) for 450 yen, vinegar motsu (550 yen), chicken wings (550 yen), and sardine mentaiko (800 yen). The interior of the restaurant looked like a bar with a stylish and efficient atmosphere, with only 4 male staff members. It was a comfortable place to be. There was no appetizer, and the vinegar motsu arrived. It was a vinegary motsu with a crunchy texture of guts on a bed of cabbage. It had a refreshing sauce with a hint of spiciness from the mustard. Delicious! The chicken wings were quite tender from being simmered for a long time. The sweet and savory flavor was dominant. It was okay. The gyoza was cooked on a hot plate and served as is. Strangely, it came with cabbage on the side. It was served after being flipped over on the hot plate. When eaten with the spicy condiments and gyoza sauce on a plate, it was just average. The skin was crispy, and the filling was good, but nothing surprising. Lastly, the sardine mentaiko. It had a small amount of mentaiko inside a large sardine belly. When eaten, the fatty sardine was delicious! The mentaiko was okay. I finished with an additional beer and that was it. They didn't have much sake, but the shochu menu was extensive. Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant with two friends I get along well with after a long time. We were lucky to get a private room, and the delicious dishes, as good as before, made the conversation lively and enjoyable. I forgot to take a photo of the dumplings (^_^;), but I will definitely visit again.

Hakata Gyoza!!! I came to this restaurant after work to cheers with gyoza and beer! The Hakata gyoza here are small and easy to eat! They come on a hot plate, so they are very hot which is great! They also have sesame mackerel, which was also good!

It had been a long time, maybe about 10 years since I last visited. "Yusin" is known for its iron pot dumplings, right? This time too, the skin and filling were delicious. The size was just right too. The scallop-flavored daikon salad was my first time trying it, but it was delicious. I couldn't eat much because I was full, but I wanted to try the "tebasaki," "nira toji," and fried rice. Next time, I'll go with a bigger appetite. Thank you for the meal.

Visited because it is famous for its meat dumplings. They were quite delicious. The dumplings were filled with juicy meat, and the hormone (offal) was also tasty. It was a good experience. We finished a bottle of shochu between two of us, and the total came to 10,000 yen, which was quite reasonable. It's a bit far, but if it were closer, I would definitely go again.

I finally visited Yūshin, a restaurant I've always wanted to go to. I love dumplings, so I wish I had come here sooner. The dumplings were delicious, but surprisingly, they also had a wide variety of sake that was delicious. In addition to the dumplings, I highly recommend the striped jack sashimi and the stir-fried hormone. It's a really great restaurant.

The chic interior of the restaurant was bustling with customers from early hours. When I ordered a serving of gyoza, I was asked if I wanted to order extra as it takes time to cook, but I declined as I planned to visit a few more places today. The gyoza, served in a square, heavy iron pot, looked crispy and delicious. When I took a bite, the meat juice overflowed, and the taste and texture were more similar to a pork bun than traditional gyoza filling. Although the accompanying ponzu sauce was flavorful, I felt it was unnecessary for the gyoza. The side dish of chopped vegetables with salted kelp was bland on its own but tasted better when dipped in ponzu sauce with chili pepper. The restaurant had a wide selection of shochu at reasonable prices, so I ordered a rock glass, which was disappointingly watery. It seemed like they poured a lot of ice into the glass, then added shochu and mixed it, resulting in a weak drink. I ordered another rock glass to confirm, and it was served the same way, so it seems to be the restaurant's standard. Despite the delicious gyoza, the overall experience was sadly disappointing.

This place has a stylish interior, very different from the atmosphere of Gion's Iron Pot. I like that place too, but here it seems to attract a younger crowd and couples. I ordered gyoza and herring roe mentaiko. The gyoza comes with a cabbage salad, which goes well together. The thinness of the gyoza skin and the balance of the filling are amazing! It's incredibly delicious and you can eat it crispy. I'll definitely be coming back here again!

Today's visit was to Yuushin. Yuushin is a dumpling restaurant located in Gion, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture. Yuushin is a dumpling shop that specializes in Hakata-style bite-sized dumplings, a specialty of Fukuoka, and has high individual ratings, so I decided to visit. When I visited around 5:30 pm, I was told that it would be fully booked after 7 pm, but I could enter for a short time. It was clear that it is a very popular restaurant, as I wouldn't have been able to enter at any other time. I sat down and decided to order the following: Hakata dumplings, which had a chewy texture and a crispy wing, and were incredibly delicious. They were easy to eat without the strong smell of chives often found in dumplings. The Iwashi mentaiko (spicy cod roe) had a few small bones, making it a bit difficult to eat, but I was still able to enjoy this Fukuoka specialty. Overall, I only tried two items, but they were delicious. Thank you for the meal.

On Saturday, I went with my colleagues to a restaurant located about 15 minutes from Hakata Station. I'm not familiar with this area, so there may be a closer station. We arrived at the restaurant at 6:00 pm. I had heard it was a dumpling restaurant, so I was expecting a more casual, popular-looking place, but I was surprised to find it very stylish with many couples dining there. We had made a reservation for three people and were seated in a private room. Despite the restaurant being crowded, we were able to enjoy our meal in peace. We ordered a variety of dishes, with Hakata dumplings cooked on black lava stone plates as the main dish. We also ordered sesame mackerel, chicken wings, crab miso, and mentaiko as well, and everything was delicious. The menu was not extensive, but it had a good selection of dishes that paired well with alcohol, making it a great spot for those who enjoy drinking. We had a bottle of shochu and the total bill came to ¥13,920. If you're looking for a stylish restaurant to enjoy drinks, I recommend checking this place out.

I made a reservation and arrived at the restaurant around 7:00 on Friday night. The restaurant was about half full. I ordered gyoza and the recommended Kanpachi sashimi of the day. The Kanpachi was average, but the gyoza was definitely delicious. It didn't have a lot of filling, so it wasn't the type that goes well with rice, but the seasoning was strong and I could eat it quickly. Personally, I would be happy just eating gyoza.

It's been a while since I visited Yu Xin. It's been about 2 years, I think. I was able to make a reservation easily, but there were a lot of customers! The dumplings tasted delicious after not having them for a long time. The sesame octopus was refreshing with just a sprinkle of salt. They also had solid COVID-19 measures in place. My friend, who said they weren't very hungry after a meeting, kept trying to order more food (even though we couldn't finish it all), so I had to stop them haha. Next time, I'll make sure to come on an empty stomach. Thank you for the meal!
