This is a pork bun filled to the brim with ingredients. On cold winter days, a warm pork bun is perfect. It's not just any meat bun, it's a pork bun. You can find them at convenience stores, but the ones here are exceptional. The skin is a bit firm compared to convenience store meat buns, but it's delicious. While it may be different from the fluffy meat buns at convenience stores, it has an authentic feel to it. The savory flavor of the meat is so delicious that you can easily eat two. In Western Japan, it's common to have mustard and vinegar soy sauce with pork buns, but they are tasty on their own as well. Adding mustard and vinegar soy sauce also enhances the flavor. I will definitely visit a few more times this winter. Thank you for the meal.

It's an almost unknown territory for me, the world of meat buns. Meat buns, pork buns? Are they the same thing? (laughs) I was recommended by a local to visit Taiheikaku. It seems to be quite popular! As for the filling of the meat bun, it was the cleanest and most beautiful I've ever seen. The filling was meticulously made. It had a meaty flavor without any strong meat smell. I am quite sensitive to meaty smells, but I was able to enjoy it! The filling was not clumped together or extremely scarce, showing the meticulous work put into it. Meat buns seem to have a lot of depth to them.

In Onojo City, Shirakimihara, there is a place called "Tairyoukaku" that serves Tianjin-style baozi. I ordered just one pork bun for 173 yen. It was a bit on the smaller side, but packed with filling. The skin was firm, and the filling was tightly packed, which might surprise and impress some people. The amount of onion was just right, resulting in a perfect level of sweetness. It was very delicious and satisfying, but personally, I prefer a bit more juiciness in the filling.

It's clearly different from the convenience store version. You can feel the natural umami of the meat, it's really delicious. It's different from the meat-filled pork buns in Yokohama Chinatown. I visited Taiheikaku, a popular meat bun shop that I have loved for over a quarter of a century, located a 3-5 minute walk from Nishitetsu Shirokihara Station in Onojo City. It's also about the same distance from JR Onojo Station. I always crave their meat buns every three months, but I rarely go because the parking space is small and there always seems to be traffic. Today, I bought 15 buns - 10 for storage and 5 for immediate consumption. I enjoyed eating the hot buns in my car, and even though they had less meat juice today, I was still very satisfied. The parking space was getting crowded, so I hurriedly drove away. (laughs)

It seems to be a well-known local shop, as there are constantly customers coming in. They also have frozen products available for stocking up. I stopped by Daibyakkan, a famous meat bun shop near Shirakihara Station while heading south on Chikushi Street. It's a place that's hard to visit due to frequent traffic jams and a narrow parking lot. I asked my colleague to drive while I dashed into the shop to buy 10 refrigerated meat buns and some for bribery. I gave the hot buns to my colleague as a gift and we enjoyed them in the car. At the end of the first half of the trip, I visited the famous meat bun shop, Taifukaku, near Nishitetsu Shirakihara Station, to buy souvenirs for my family. I have been a fan of this place for a quarter of a century and it is still very popular. Although it was close to closing time, there were still customers. I bought 5 buns for my family and 2 for myself. They were delicious, with a fluffy and chewy texture. I wanted to have one more, but I was scolded, so unfortunately I could only have one (laughs). The parking lot was spacious, but it would have been perfect if it was a little cheaper (laughs).
