I entered the restaurant at 11 am and the counter was already full of regular customers. The seats by the wall were also taken by a pair of customers. I ended up sitting near the entrance. The atmosphere was great. I ordered a large bottle of beer, fresh squid sashimi, and white fish sashimi. The bill came out to be 1640 yen. I wanted to try more dishes, but it was hard to see the menu from my seat and they were closing at 12 pm for lunch. I would like to come back again. Thank you for the meal.

I feel like having a drink from the morning ♫ A lovely standing bar in front of the market. Osaka is truly amazing. Being able to enjoy delicious snacks and drinks from the morning is the best! (*≧∀≦*) The inside of the shop is small, but the atmosphere is great. The tuna, being in front of the market, is delicious. Slowly sipping on alcohol, enjoying the appetizers... before you know it, you're a bit tipsy. While high-end cuisine is nice, I love this kind of place. It's a liquor store where you can casually walk in even by yourself.

First visit to Mitsuwaya Saketen. Started with a large bottle of beer and slightly thick fried squid tempura. Then had a lemon chu-hi, red Vienna sausage, plain fried tofu, and hot tofu. The hot tofu was really delicious, but it was disappointing to see some dirt accumulating at the edge of the ladle. The total bill was around 1500 yen! I couldn't help but be surprised by how cheap it was. This is much appreciated. Thank you for the meal!

"Mitsuwaya Saketen" is a "kakuchi" (standing bar) located in front of the Kizu Market in Osaka. They open early in the morning from 3:00 am to 12:00 pm, catering to the market workers. I visited on a Saturday morning to try out their drinks and food. Location: Located right across the street from the Kizu Market, near exit 1 of the Midosuji Line's Daikokucho Station. The interior has a lively atmosphere with an L-shaped counter facing the kitchen and another counter along the wall. It was a bit smaller than I had imagined. Food: - Eel Liver Stew (300 yen): A generous portion of eel liver stewed with a mild bitterness and a good texture. - Fried Oysters (400 yen): Crispy and hot, with a juicy oyster flavor. - Tuna Toro (300 yen): Fatty tuna with some sinew, but still tasty for the price. - Beef Tripe (250 yen): Grilled beef tripe with a rich and juicy texture. - Red Wiener (180 yen): Crispy and flavorful red wiener with mayo and mustard. - Grilled Bell Pepper (200 yen): Grilled bell pepper with a savory flavor. - Garlic Karaage (150 yen): Deep-fried garlic with a soft and flavorful texture. Drinks: I enjoyed a cold beer, hot sake from Kikumasamune and Kamotsuru, red wine, and a sweet potato shochu on the rocks. Overall, I had a satisfying meal and drinks at a reasonable price in a lively and popular bar. It's a great spot for early morning drinking and dining. Cheers!

I walked around the neighborhood because there were noisy old men in front of the store, and then I entered. There was only one stylish regular customer. The atmosphere was wonderful. I ordered red snapper sashimi with a little bit of fatty tuna and yudofu. The sashimi was not watery but rather moist and delicious. The yudofu was made by microwaving three packs of tofu and topping it with dipping sauce, bonito flakes, and green onions. After that, a group of three and another old man arrived. I had a relaxing time watching TV while listening to the old men's conversation. I'll definitely stop by again if I come back to Okuni-machi.

Saturday afternoon drinking. Originally, I was planning to drink in Fuse, but due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to change to this place at the last minute. It's a standing bar. Oh, it's been a while. I often go to the sister store in Nishinari, but this place is my second time. Surprisingly, there are not many places in the Namba, Nipponbashi, and Ebisucho area where you can drink in the morning or afternoon, so this place is valuable. It seems like there used to be more in the past, but maybe it's not profitable because most customers in Namba come in the evening to late night. When I entered the store, it was already almost full. It's still in the 11 o'clock hour but everyone is already a bit tipsy. (laughs) Let's cheers with a Kirin beer and have some tuna sashimi since Tsukiji Market is nearby. The atmosphere inside the store is lively and nice, typical of a standing bar. Mitsuwaya in Nishinari has a great atmosphere, but this place definitely has a wider variety of dishes. Later, I also had some amberjack sashimi... oh, they have yakisoba too. Let's try that as well. The yakisoba here is surprisingly delicious when eaten in a place like this. (^^;; Let's call it a bite-sized yakisoba in a standing bar. (laughs) It's the best. It's forbidden to stay long in a standing bar. Drink quickly, eat quickly, and leave. Today, I had a great time enjoying good drinks. Thank you for the meal.

A bar next to Mokutsu Market. It looks like a standing bar at first, but it's actually a regular izakaya where you can sit down. It's open from early morning to noon, and then from evening. I arrived in the morning by highway bus and visited the market before going here. I had some slightly fatty tuna for 300 yen, and eel liver simmered for 300 yen, while drinking a large bottle. The taste was just okay... I had high hopes because it's close to the market. Well, it's cheap so it's fine. At first, I was alone so it was fine, but once regular customers arrived, they didn't come to take my order until I asked a few times, and the order got mixed up, even when we ordered the same menu... It's understandable given the location, but it made me feel very lonely.

Because there is a park near my house, the sound of cicadas echoes from early in the morning. Well, I guess it's a short summer tradition, so it adds to the atmosphere. I reluctantly wake up at 6 am and start doing the laundry that has piled up. Just moving around a little indoors makes me a bit sweaty. Oh well, since today is my day off, why not have a morning beer at the Kizu Market? There is a place outside the market where you can drink from 3 am. It's like an oasis for the men working in the market. When I slide open the door, the inside of the shop is super cool and comfortable with a two-tier approach of air conditioning and a fan. I start with a large dry beer (420 yen) for a solo toast. Ah, drinking beer at 7:30 in the morning is exceptional and it goes down smoothly. I wonder if the whiteboard above is today's recommended menu? Since I'm at the Kizu Market, I decide to go for some sashimi, ordering some medium fatty tuna (300 yen) and miso stewed pork tripe (250 yen). There are people at the counter who seem to be related to the market, talking loudly about the refrigerators. There are various things, huh? Cheers to the medium fatty tuna. Having sashimi in the morning feels like a little trip. It has some tendons, but that's how it is. The miso stewed pork tripe has marks from the explosion when it was microwaved, which is funny. Maybe it's been simmered too much. The NHK morning drama "Natsuzora" has started on TV. Watching Suzu-chan while drinking alcohol is the best. Next, I order a shochu highball with lemon (270 yen) and as snacks, I request tempura of pickled ginger (70 yen), mixed vegetable tempura (100 yen), and croquette (80 yen). It's reassuring to be able to order without worrying about the price. Oh, now the boring "Chiko-chan" show has started, so I guess it's time to go home. The total is 1490 yen! As I slide the door shut, the cicadas are still crying. It looks like it's going to be another hot day.

Tonight's weather forecast also calls for rain. As I decided in the dusk to head straight back to base camp, just as I was thinking about leaving the workshop, I received a perfect invitation at the perfect timing as always. I'll decide depending on the rain. I replied, and decided to end the day. I also contacted a few candidate towns. After a while, when I went outside, surprisingly, it wasn't raining. Should I go? Among the three candidate towns, I was feeling closer to base camp. I decided to meet up at the local spot. I got off at Okunimachi Station and walked for about 3 minutes. I entered the shop with dim lights in front of Kizu Market around 19:30. Inside the shop, there was a retro atmosphere with only a counter, full of a poignant feeling with 100% salarymen. And because I hadn't seen this scene recently, it felt strangely fresh. Since the seats facing the kitchen were full, I sat at a vacant seat in the back against the wall. I was asked about drinks right away, but I wasn't sure, so I asked for a moment. Looking at the menu on the wall, draft beer starting at 390 yen, and chu-hai for 270 yen, were quite cheap. And the appetizers were also in the 100 yen range. I ordered a draft beer, and then followed by ordering some appetizers. Since I hadn't eaten much since the day before, I was a bit hungry and wanted to eat something hearty. However, I decided to wait until my acquaintance arrived to order something substantial. First, I ordered potato salad (150 yen) and pork bean sprouts (200 yen) as a light snack. The potato salad was taken out from the adjacent refrigerator and was very cold. Although I wasn't a fan of the slightly watery appearance, it wasn't bad when I tasted it. The subtle saltiness was pleasing and I quickly finished it. The pork bean sprouts also arrived quickly with a sizzle sound. Both the potato salad and bean sprouts had a homely visual and taste. It made me crave for a bowl of white rice. After a while, my acquaintance arrived. We toasted right away, and now let's order some serious snacks. However, my acquaintance had already had a light meal. Since he doesn't eat much when he drinks, it was a bit difficult to order. Well, it can't be helped. We chatted while nibbling on the two remaining dishes. And when they were finished, we were asked if we wanted to order something else. The chosen item was a refill of bean sprouts. Although it was typically a one-person serving, it was just right for two people. I wanted to order tempura as well, but they had already turned off the fryer. So, I ordered a side dish of cheese (300 yen) as a substitute. After drinking and chatting for a while, I started to feel the buzz. I thought of ordering one more drink, but it was already closing time at 20:30. When I checked the time, it was already 21:00. Oh no, I had passed the closing time!! I hurried to pay the bill and left the shop. After that, I headed to the back streets of Namba and went to two more places. In the end, as always, I barely caught the last train. Rating details: 3.53

Review Stock 7. As usual, I woke up in the middle of the night hungry and couldn't sleep. I tried to drink whiskey to help me sleep, but it only made me more awake. It was already time for the first train, so I decided to visit this place that I had been wanting to try at Kizutsu Market. I hesitated to enter before because I couldn't see inside from outside. Today, I had quite a bit of alcohol in me, so I entered without any problems. The interior of the restaurant was filled with a Showa era atmosphere. There were about 3 other customers, who seemed to be people related to the market and appeared to be regulars. I ordered a double whiskey with water for 360 yen, a tomato for 200 yen, and squid tempura for 70 yen. The whiskey was a generous double, strong and delicious. The tomato was nothing special. The squid tempura had a good amount and was freshly fried, hot and chewy. Is this really only 70 yen? So cheap! In the future, when I visit Kizutsu Market, I will definitely stop by here for a drink before heading for a meal! So, a return visit is a must. Thank you for the meal!

An izakaya near Ookuni-cho in Osaka. We were looking for a place near the market and ended up here for our second stop. The amazing thing is that this place is open from 3am. And the prices are surprisingly cheap. We started with a lemon sour and ordered croquettes and garlic fried chicken. I thought the garlic fried chicken would be garlic-flavored, but it was actually just fried garlic, haha. These dishes went really well with the lemon sour, so we ordered another round. It's a shame they didn't have tempura, but the bill came out to only 1,040 yen, which was incredibly cost-effective. Satisfied, we headed to Taihei no Yu nearby for a bath.

A shop located next to Kizu Market near Osaka, Namba. Although the name of the shop is "Mitsuya Sake Store," it likely does not sell sake retail, but rather operates as an izakaya for standing and drinking. The opening hours are quite unique, starting from 3:00 in the morning until noon, and then again from 5:00 in the evening until 8:30 at night, following the market schedule. I arrived at the shop around 4:00 in the early morning, and despite missing the opening time, there were already quite a few customers inside. The sign with the logo of Kikumasamune reads "Mitsuya Sake Store," but underneath the awning, it says "Cheap and delicious drinking place." The shop has a nice atmosphere with fresh flowers displayed outside. Inside, there is an L-shaped counter and simple chair seating along the opposite wall. Even though I preferred to sit at the counter to watch the refrigerated case and cooking, the wall seats were all that was available. I started by looking at the menu and was pleasantly surprised to find that a large bottle of beer was only 420 yen (small bottle 300 yen!). I decided on a Kirin beer and enjoyed the forbidden thrill of drinking a large bottle in the early morning. For food, I ordered mekabu and horagai. The horagai, which I had never seen in Edo, was tender and slightly bitter, a perfect match for beer or even sake. Although I wanted to order more, I had plans later in the day, so I had to resist the temptation for more alcohol. The total bill came to 870 yen. Although I did not have a chance to converse with the owner behind the counter, the waitress who handled the payment was friendly. It was a delightful dining experience.

Morning coffee is still too weak (lol). Mitsuwaya is a good restaurant that I always forget about. They offer large bottles of beer for 390 yen, oolong highballs for 320 yen, potato salad for 150 yen, firefly squid with vinegar miso for 300 yen, chicken skirt for 200 yen, chicken liver for 180 yen, slightly melted cheese for 300 yen, and medium fatty tuna for 300 yen. The alcohol is really cheap and the food is fresh from the Kizu Market, so it's worth it. One customer mentioned that Mitsuwaya is a good restaurant for Imamiya Ebisu. I enjoy eavesdropping on conversations while drinking alone.

In front of the Mokuzu Market, there is a popular izakaya. It operates from 3 am to noon, which may be difficult for some people to visit. For those who love izakayas, you may be familiar with "Mitsuya Saketen = Hyakuban chain store," which used to be known for selling a large volume of beer in Kansai or Osaka. There is a shop in Nishinari that sells the most One Cups in Japan, but I'll talk about that another time. The late former president of Taishi Hyakuban in Nishinari was the top, and this shop is run by his brother. The brother has passed away, and now the wife is working hard to keep the business going, but they don't have the same power as before. The number of stores has drastically decreased, and I'm not sure where the other family-run businesses are, but I think the izakayas with "Hyakuban" written on them in various regions are run by former employees who have become independent. - Large bottle of beer for 390 yen - Thick fried tofu for 150 yen - Potato salad for 150 yen - Tomato slices for 200 yen - Muta (pig's ear) for 200 yen - Assorted grilled chicken skewers for a reasonable price - Oolong highball for an unknown price It's a great place with cheap, delicious food and a good atmosphere.

I visit this place occasionally, but drinking alone from late at night until morning is the best. They serve small dishes of sashimi and obanzai, which is just the right amount for one person. The photo shows tuna and mino. There are various other dishes available in small portions, so you can try a variety of things. It was delicious, especially considering the price. I like this kind of restaurant. The service was decent. And the prices are very reasonable!

After a long time, I happened to pass by a nearby restaurant at a strange early morning hour, and to my surprise, it was open. I decided to visit since I love restaurants with a wide variety of affordable options. As usual, the place was bustling even at such an odd hour. I asked the chef for live seafood, and ended up enjoying some horsehair crab with a bottle of beer. The atmosphere of the restaurant was exactly like the image I had as a child of adults going to an izakaya, making it very calming. The other customers were all in high spirits, enjoying the cheap and delicious food. I felt a sense of comfort as I leisurely drank alone. When the crab ran out, I ordered some chicken tail and chicken skirt, which were carefully grilled by the friendly lady. I had a refill of barley shochu to savor the texture of the liver and the deliciousness of the skirt meat. The chef tried to engage in conversation with me several times, but I was too shy to respond properly. I had a few more dishes and drinks, but I started to get drunk and my memory and notes became blurry. After checking my wallet, I realized I had spent around 2000 yen, so I had a reasonably enjoyable time. It was a pleasant experience that made me think, "I had a great time." I will definitely visit again.
