Tonight's weather forecast also calls for rain. As I decided in the dusk to head straight back to base camp, just as I was thinking about leaving the workshop, I received a perfect invitation at the perfect timing as always. I'll decide depending on the rain. I replied, and decided to end the day. I also contacted a few candidate towns. After a while, when I went outside, surprisingly, it wasn't raining. Should I go? Among the three candidate towns, I was feeling closer to base camp. I decided to meet up at the local spot. I got off at Okunimachi Station and walked for about 3 minutes. I entered the shop with dim lights in front of Kizu Market around 19:30. Inside the shop, there was a retro atmosphere with only a counter, full of a poignant feeling with 100% salarymen. And because I hadn't seen this scene recently, it felt strangely fresh. Since the seats facing the kitchen were full, I sat at a vacant seat in the back against the wall. I was asked about drinks right away, but I wasn't sure, so I asked for a moment. Looking at the menu on the wall, draft beer starting at 390 yen, and chu-hai for 270 yen, were quite cheap. And the appetizers were also in the 100 yen range. I ordered a draft beer, and then followed by ordering some appetizers. Since I hadn't eaten much since the day before, I was a bit hungry and wanted to eat something hearty. However, I decided to wait until my acquaintance arrived to order something substantial. First, I ordered potato salad (150 yen) and pork bean sprouts (200 yen) as a light snack. The potato salad was taken out from the adjacent refrigerator and was very cold. Although I wasn't a fan of the slightly watery appearance, it wasn't bad when I tasted it. The subtle saltiness was pleasing and I quickly finished it. The pork bean sprouts also arrived quickly with a sizzle sound. Both the potato salad and bean sprouts had a homely visual and taste. It made me crave for a bowl of white rice. After a while, my acquaintance arrived. We toasted right away, and now let's order some serious snacks. However, my acquaintance had already had a light meal. Since he doesn't eat much when he drinks, it was a bit difficult to order. Well, it can't be helped. We chatted while nibbling on the two remaining dishes. And when they were finished, we were asked if we wanted to order something else. The chosen item was a refill of bean sprouts. Although it was typically a one-person serving, it was just right for two people. I wanted to order tempura as well, but they had already turned off the fryer. So, I ordered a side dish of cheese (300 yen) as a substitute. After drinking and chatting for a while, I started to feel the buzz. I thought of ordering one more drink, but it was already closing time at 20:30. When I checked the time, it was already 21:00. Oh no, I had passed the closing time!! I hurried to pay the bill and left the shop. After that, I headed to the back streets of Namba and went to two more places. In the end, as always, I barely caught the last train. Rating details: 3.53
