The restaurant was crowded with customers and looked like a lot of fun, so I decided to go in. The assorted sashimi was fresh and delicious, with a rich umami flavor. The skewers were all juicy and tasty! The ponzu sauce for the raw fish and the ponzu sauce for the liver had a strong and delicious flavor! The seared sushi trio was exceptionally delicious! The assorted tempura was hot and crispy, and very tasty! The tomato juice was thick and rich, just like real tomatoes! The Kirin bottled beer was the perfect match for all these dishes!

I visited this restaurant in the Abeno underground shopping street near Tennoji on a sunny Saturday just before 3 pm. · Appetizer - 350 yen each, this day it was simmered dish. · Yakitori assorted - 880 yen, the yakitori with sweet sauce is delicious. · Sushi - Salmon trio - 680 yen, a set of 3 pieces including seared salmon and sliced onion toppings. · Sushi - Assorted seared items - 600 yen, a set of 3 pieces including shrimp, salmon, and tuna. · Tempura assorted - 980 yen, includes 2 large prawns, white fish, eggplant, pumpkin, corn, and green pepper. · Squid with ponzu sauce - 580 yen, a small dish but plenty of squid to enjoy. · Foie gras with ponzu sauce - 480 yen, rich and satisfying foie gras. · Sashimi - Solo serving - 1,280 yen, a satisfying assortment of various sashimi. · Large Kirin beer - 700 yen, perfectly chilled beer with a great taste. · Tomato juice - 300 yen, served in a chilled glass jug. Prices are excluding tax. When I visited just before 3 pm, there were a few customers enjoying daytime drinking. More customers arrived later, and the restaurant became almost full. The dishes were all delicious with a wide variety to choose from. The restaurant is conveniently located in the Abeno underground shopping street, directly connected to JR and subway Tennoji station.

Spending a day indulging in alcohol as much as time allows. Enjoying smooth and fragrant drinks. By midday, I was already 80% full. The bar, Abe Chika, never disappoints. Across the street is a charming skewer restaurant called Handaya. The fresh oysters were delicious.

We visited a popular izakaya in the underground of Tennoji on a Sunday night with my partner. By 7:30 pm, almost all seats were taken. We ordered sashimi, one serving of chiri-tori nabe, one serving of shiso cheese harumaki, gomigomihanamidaku kushi, surume tempura, torotaku maki, and we ended up ordering too much alcohol. Each dish had a generous portion. The place is near Tennoji station where you can enjoy delicious food and smoke. The level of the staff is unfortunately below amateur, but we were very satisfied with the food.

I have stopped by "Abechika" connected to Tennoji Station several times and enjoyed drinking at "Handaya" before. I can't remember for sure, but I may have also had a drink at other shops. However, I have never used "O-Sakana to Jizake Shimotaya". They seem to have a wide selection of local sake starting from 380 yen. There are also various appetizers that go well with sake. I like the Showa-style illustrations printed on the curtain with a hand-drawn touch. I was happy to see Kirin Lager bottled beer. This is a great shop with ashtrays available. However, the large bottle is 680 yen, so it's not cheap... no, let's stop, this is a "normal" price. I always tend to focus on places where large bottles are around 400 yen, so my sense of value is a bit off. I ordered shiso cheese spring rolls to go with the beer. As a premise, I was contemplating what to have as a sake appetizer after shifting from beer to sake. There are many choices, but the price... it's not cheap. Well, this is probably the normal pricing, but it's because I always use cheap bars. I have become stingy to the core (actually, I am poor). I finally decided on the "O-Sakana Namero" for 480 yen. It was really good, and I enjoyed the sake as well. I ordered another round of Tosa Tsuru. It was a comfortable afternoon on a weekday, not too crowded. The service was nice, and the atmosphere was good. I would have been happier if the bottled beer and appetizers were 100 yen or 50 yen cheaper, but that's just my situation. The shop is not bad at all.

After a long time, I had dinner with food blogger Imaitakahiko-san, and after several failed attempts, we finally arrived at this restaurant. We started with a Sapporo Red Label beer for a toast! We tried various dishes, including the recommended beef tongue by the staff, but unfortunately, the recommended beef tongue had no texture and was disappointing. It was a Sunday, so I guess it couldn't be helped...

We ordered the Deluxe Sashimi Platter (1,880 yen), Grilled Offal, and Lotus Root Manju (470 yen) among other dishes at this restaurant. A must-try here is the Deluxe Sashimi Platter, which comes with dry ice and creates a stunning moment when the lid is lifted. It's definitely Instagram-worthy. They also offer many other elaborately prepared dishes and have a convenient location with last order at 9pm, preventing overindulgence. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I went to a familiar izakaya called Masamune-ya before coming here, but I completely forgot to take photos (crying). I was thinking about heading home soon, but then decided to check out one more place by request. I ended up at this restaurant for the first time. They had a hot pot dish available: -Chiritori Nabe (hot pot) for 1300 yen- They brought an IH stove to the table, and we could cook the ingredients in the pot, so it was piping hot. The dish included pork slices, cabbage, kimchi, Korean rice cakes, and other items, with a flavor similar to kimchi hot pot. It was slightly different from the one I had in Ikuno years ago. After warming up, I headed home.

After 5 years, the sushi lotus root bun was delicious, as well as the tasty silver cod Saikyo-yaki. The boiled dish served as an appetizer was also good. The two dishes with dashi broth were delicious. It's great that they are open even during odd hours. However, the inside of the restaurant is really dirty in some areas, which is concerning. It has become a place where you can talk to girls in yukata.

I searched for a shop in Tennoji where I can use the points I got from the "Welcome to Osaka Campaign" (Osaka Pay), and found this place where a cute girl in a yukata welcomed me. I sat at the counter and ordered a highball and a selection of 3 types of oden. While enjoying the highball and the small boiled potatoes served as an appetizer, I took the time to look around the shop. It seemed like a place with a high ratio of regular customers. After a short wait, my favorite oden arrived. The oden here is lightly seasoned, bringing out the flavors of the ingredients. The daikon with miso topping and the egg with ikura topping were delicious. The burdock tempura also had a nice crunchy texture. I ordered a glass of junmai sake and ankimo with ponzu sauce to enjoy a leisurely daytime drink. I paid using the Osaka Pay points, which covered the bill for one person.

This is a shop in Abechika. There are many delicious izakayas and places where you can drink from noon around here. There is also a traditional and reasonably priced izakaya across the street. It's a fierce battle zone for daytime drinking. The shop is spacious and beautiful. The lotus root manju was very delicious.

It's so convenient, not at Tennoji Mio or Abeno Q's Mall, but at Abeno Yokocho~ Come on over!⠀There are plenty of dining options in the Abeno underground shopping street~ Whether you're dining alone at the counter or with a group at a table, it's all good. Even though it's underground, smoking is allowed...?⠀For those who are particular, the first impression is important, right? The glasses were ice-cold, just perfect. The person who ordered beer had a chilled mug too.⠀I just stopped by for a quick bite and tried the Thick-cut Grilled Beef Tongue for 1680 yen, which was so delicious. The seasoning was great, and they used a tender core tongue (tongue base), which is the best part of the tongue.⠀The Handmade Meat Dumplings for 380 yen and the Grilled Fresh Fish for 880 yen are also worth trying. They source fresh fish from the Kizu Market. Don't miss out on the tongue of the cow, it's a must-try. Enjoy!

After returning from the Tenshiba Fruhlingsfest 2022, we stopped by here. With a slightly full stomach, we ordered sashimi and kappamaki. The sashimi was fresh and delicious. The alcohol went down smoothly, and we had a fun time drinking. The landlady also joined us for a drink, and we enjoyed the deepening dusk in Tennoji while chatting with the staff. The kappamaki was also delicious. Thank you for the meal.

March 2022 - Memo - After leaving "Taishu Bistro Sashisu Tennoji MIO store" for about an hour, my companion and I went our separate ways. My companion, who eats lightly, decided to pass the time by window shopping for our next restaurant, while I relaxed for an hour at "Shimotaya Abe Chika store." This was my first visit here. It was a random time, so when I peeked inside from outside, I saw that the restaurant had a sparse but nice crowd. I ordered the following items: - Assorted appetizers for 280 yen - Tempura of fresh squid for 390 yen - Draft beer for 470 yen - Kuro Kirishima shochu for 350 yen There were a few solo customers who seemed to be regulars. The friendly female staff member took orders with good timing and engaged in conversation with customers. Although I personally find it a bit uncomfortable, I think the service was good. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience.

Today, I had lunch and drinks with a friend at Abeno, and we went to "Shimotaya Abe Chika Store". We prioritized being able to smoke because there are fewer places in Tennoji where you can smoke. I ordered a highball for ¥390! The appetizer was deep-fried baby potatoes. Drinking with a friend is better than drinking alone. The sashimi, sushi, and meat were all good choices. The sashimi platter with 5 kinds for ¥980 was nice. The sushi platter with 5 kinds was also good. The seared 5 kinds platter was impressive. The meat sushi was delicious, especially when seared. The beef tongue was good quality, but I didn't like that it was seasoned with steak sauce. It would have been better with just salt and pepper. After eating to my heart's content and having three highballs, the total bill for one person was just under ¥5,000. It's not cheap, but it's not bad either. I recommend it to those who are looking for something a little better than average. If you want to smoke while drinking in Abeno, this is a good place. Thank you for the meal.

In early April, I visited Tennoji Zoo to see the baby polar bear, Hou-chan, who was recently born and introduced to the public. Hou-chan is named after the sponsor, Penglai-san from 551, who provides food for the bears. Although Hou-chan was fast asleep and I only caught a quick glimpse of his face, he was incredibly cute. After enjoying the adorable moment, I started my afternoon drinking session around 2 pm at a seafood-focused restaurant. The sashimi platter was luxurious and quite delicious. The other dishes were also tasty, although nothing stood out as exceptional. The only downside was the somewhat lacking customer service from the staff. While there was one friendly waitress, most of them were a bit careless, placing drinks haphazardly, bringing unordered dishes, and chatting too much. Overall, despite the slightly higher prices due to the extended stay, I believe it is a good and affordable restaurant. Thank you for the meal!
