At the third stop in Otemon, I recommended a waterfront restaurant, but it was closed. My friend suggested we go to "Erin" instead. I had heard about it from another friend before. We walked back from the waterfront to Otemon, passed through the closed Toahis, and found Erin right away. Inside, there were two tables on the left, several large pillars on the right, and a counter in the back, with another private room further back. We started with beer at the counter. My friend had gin. The owner looked like a slim and cool version of Muro Tsuyoshi (or maybe I was just drunk). He was very easy to talk to and made us feel at home. The atmosphere was fun and lively, and we enjoyed chatting with the owner and other customers. He said he opened the bar because he loves drinking, and it showed in the way he made drinks – it was very professional. I had a Macallan on the rocks, and it was so good that I had a couple more. It was delicious and fun. I want to come back with a friend next time, but sitting at the counter is a must. It was a great experience! Thank you for the wonderful meal!

A bar like a hidden gem located near Otemon. A place you want to stop by for a drink when you feel like it.

The man has an unending love for izakayas. He is attracted to the rustic feel, smoky atmosphere, and the charm of B-grade gourmet food and shochu. Despite being a conservative man from Fukuoka, the term "bar" used to sound too soft for him, but his perspective is changing. He recalls a book he read about how solitude shapes a great man, and decides to embrace solitude to elevate his status as a man. He enters a bar where he is the only customer, feeling a warm and cozy atmosphere. He appreciates Japanese whiskies like Yamazaki and Yoichi, but Scotch whiskies are now his go-to choice for aging. His favorites are Laphroaig and Glenlivet, and he enjoys the routine of savoring the top notes and chasing them with nuts, although he should be pairing them with chocolate instead. He embraces solitude at the bar, with no one sitting next to him, as Billy Joel once sang. As the night progresses, he watches the empty chairs lined up as if waiting for new customers, and with a sigh, he finishes a shot of Talisker, feeling a bit lonely yet content.

My initial impression was that I couldn't believe such a stylish bar existed in this area. Since it was a weekday, I was able to relax and take lots of photos. The master, a handsome man in his 40s, was running the place alone. The selection of alcohol was great, with a focus on malt whisky and delicious cocktails. I heard that he used to have a shop in Yakuin, but has been here for 2-3 years now. The atmosphere of the bar makes you feel like you're drinking in Nishi Nakasu. The master was fun to chat with, and we ended up having a lively conversation with other customers who came later. It's a perfect place for casual outings or a secret date.

It's not flashy at all, with a modest and subdued atmosphere. It's a bit of a walk from Ohori Koen-mae Station, but that's what makes it nice. It's not particularly unique in terms of interior or menu, but it's really calming. The soft lighting and simple furnishings are perfect for adults to stop by and have a casual drink. The owner is friendly and casual, adding to the relaxed atmosphere. I had already had a few drinks before coming here, so I decided to try a Moscow Mule to wake up a bit, which came in a cute cup. But I ended up switching back to whiskey on the rocks, which was served in a classic and elegant manner. This bar is a great place to bring anyone, as it's classy and well-balanced. I didn't try the food, but I highly recommend checking it out if you want a sophisticated adult night out. It's a great bar to know about, whether you're bringing someone along or just looking for a nice spot to relax.
