Genghis Khan. The "Genghis Khan" restaurant in Susukino, Sapporo, has opened a branch in Otaru Sushi Yokocho. The branch is called Otaru Bettei, known for serving high-quality Suffolk lamb. I had been invited to a reception by the president at the Susukino branch before, and my partner and I even went there to eat because it was so delicious. We had planned to visit the Sapporo Genghis Khan restaurant again once things had settled down, but recently found out about the branch in Otaru, so we decided to go there with my partner and daughter. Despite the name of the restaurant, which suggests a Genghis Khan theme, the menu and experience are quite different from the typical Genghis Khan restaurants. They offer a variety of lamb cuts, including sirloin, lamb tongue, ribs, and more, which is unusual for a Genghis Khan restaurant. The freshness of the lamb meat is also impressive, as there is no gamey smell typically associated with lamb meat. The experience of eating high-quality lamb meat here is quite different from the usual Genghis Khan experience. We started with the sirloin, which was incredibly tender and delicious. We also tried the lamb tongue, which was a rare cut and equally tasty. The lamb meat can be ordered raw, marinated, or with salt, and each option offers a unique and delicious flavor. The rib meat was juicy and tender, with a sweet fattiness that made it irresistible. The lamb rack, with bones attached, was a unique and satisfying experience. The president of Genghis Khan restaurant even visited the Otaru branch while we were there, and we had a pleasant conversation and took a photo together. Overall, the experience of eating high-quality lamb meat at this restaurant was exceptional, and I highly recommend it to both first-time Genghis Khan eaters and those looking to try a new and luxurious dining experience.
