The other day, while working overtime at the company, I was invited by two close friends to have a home-cooked meal, and we visited a dumpling specialty shop near the office as a gift. The shop is called Kurobei. We used to buy dumplings from here occasionally and eat them with everyone at the office, but we haven't been there for a few years. Although it is a takeout-only shop, you can apparently eat inside as well. This time, we ordered 20 pieces of pan-fried dumplings instead of raw dumplings. By the way, if you order 30 pieces or more, you can change to a bamboo container for an extra 100 yen. They also have dumplings with red skin mixed with tomatoes, yellow skin mixed with turmeric, and green skin mixed with matcha. After paying in advance, we waited for about 10 minutes for the dumplings to be cooked, and then picked them up. By the way, if you need grated daikon radish, you can ask for it, but I completely forgot to mention it, so it didn't come with the order. Later, we enjoyed the dumplings. The skins are handmade, and they use a soup made from chicken bones, pork bones, bonito flakes, and kelp to knead the skins. The skins are slightly thick and chewy, with a wheat flavor and a hint of soup flavor, making the overall taste rich. The filling is made from Kagoshima's Roppaku black pork, cabbage, onions, leeks, chives, garlic, ginger, shiitake mushrooms, and carrots, giving it a good texture and flavor. Personally, I love crispy dumplings, but these had been sitting for a while, so it was inevitable. However, the chewy skin and flavorful filling made it still enjoyable. If I have the chance, I would like to try the raw dumplings next time. Thank you for the meal. #Kurobei #dumplings #takeout-only shop #handmade dumplings #Fukuoka City Minami-ku Oonogi #homemade dumplings #takeout #souvenir #tricolor dumplings #black pork #gift #Gatho #RamenLoverGatho-san
