Huh? Despite being a large airport, the food court is surprisingly compact. It seems like they are in the middle of a major renovation. I chose a single item for breakfast to match my early morning flight - the salted mackerel set meal. The taste is good, but it's definitely airport prices!

Kansai Airport has seen many restaurants closing due to the pandemic, and now the main option is the food court. There are not enough seats available, so the dining area in the first terminal building is undergoing renovation to return to its original capacity. Customers have to wait near tables that are finished eating until a seat becomes available. Once a seat is secured, they can then go to the various food booths. This process can be quite inconvenient, so it is hoped that things will return to normal soon. The Kansai Airport restaurant managed by Maido Ookini offers a variety of dishes. The reviewer ordered Tamagoyaki first, then chose dishes such as grilled salmon, deep-fried eggplant with miso, simmered hijiki seaweed, rice, and miso soup. The total cost was 1460 yen. The Tamagoyaki was cooked in front of the customer, and they were asked if they wanted toppings like green onions and pickled ginger. This time, the reviewer passed on the pickled ginger. The salmon seemed to be of foreign origin, with a light color and flavor. The miso in the miso soup was light, but the quality of the pork was good.

Due to a significant decrease in the number of restaurants, the place was crowded with customers. Thanks to that, even though it is a chain restaurant with pre-made dishes, I was able to enjoy freshly cooked food. As a result, it tasted better than other branches of the same restaurant. #Kansai Airport #Food court #The high turnover of customers led to freshly cooked dishes being served, making it tastier than other Maido Oki-ni dining outlets.

This is a restaurant located on the 2nd floor of Terminal 1 at Kansai International Airport, before the security check. It is one of the stores of the Fujio Food Group's "Maidoookini" restaurant. They cook the egg omelette upon order, you can choose your favorite side dishes, and finally order rice or other items before paying. The egg omelette costs 240 yen, minced cutlet 220 yen, fried eggplant with miso paste 220 yen, sautéed burdock root 130 yen, and rice 200 yen, totaling 1010 yen.

I stopped by before my trip on Friday evening. I don't usually go to Maido Ookini Shokudo, so I'm not familiar with it, but I was a little disappointed that there were few menu options to choose from. However, the freshly baked tamagoyaki was delicious! It might be difficult, but I would be happy if they had sashimi.

For a while, I hadn't been to Kansai Airport and noticed that the 551 shop and other lively restaurants on the restaurant floor had been significantly reduced to a food court. I was disappointed that I couldn't buy pork buns at the airport anymore. But my hunger was real, so I decided to eat something at the food court. By the way, I had already eaten quite a bit before this, haha. Oh, a restaurant at the airport? It seems like a popular dining option from Kansai? I checked their website and found out that they also have restaurants in Tokyo. Personally, I prefer Tsurumaru over Marugame. Oh, it seems like Dodan Tsukudani is also expanding its chain! Fuji Food is really amazing. And they have Geko-tei at Itami Airport! Now, in these types of restaurants, you can easily end up spending a lot if you're not careful. I tried to be calm and chose: Fried Eggplant 200 yen (excluding tax) = 220 yen, Chicken and Potato Teriyaki 437 yen (excluding tax) = 480 yen, Kinpira Gobo (Burdock Root) 119 yen (excluding tax) = 130 yen, Ebisu Beer (can) 419 yen (excluding tax) = 460 yen, Rice 182 yen (excluding tax) = 200 yen, Miso Soup 109 yen (excluding tax) = 220 yen. Total: 1,710 yen. I might have ordered too much, haha. I fell into the trap like a fool! I even made fun of myself for not being calm. How about this weird old man? And I really didn't want to use the bathroom during the flight, but why did I order beer, haha. But that beer was delicious. And although there was nothing particularly amazing, the various Japanese dishes were very satisfying. I felt grateful to be Japanese and enjoyed that irreplaceable time spent at the food court. On the way there, I had sent my suitcase to the hotel in advance with a delivery service, but it was slightly oversized, so if I checked it in as carry-on luggage, it would cost almost 4,000 yen (surprise). I quickly canceled it and asked at the delivery service counter on the first floor. With the JAF discount, I could send it for almost half the price, and I didn't have to waste time picking up my luggage, so I could go straight home, which worked out well since I arrived early. Oh, sorry for the unrelated review, haha. Anyway, thank you. It was a delicious meal.

I took an afternoon flight to Naha and decided to have lunch at the airport. However, due to construction, there were few options for dining. I realized after eating that it would have been better to eat inside after passing through security, as it was less crowded. Nevertheless, I chose a place where you could select your side dishes and it took longer than expected due to the lack of staff. There were only two cooks preparing the food, serving rice, soup, and handling payments. The trays were running out and the variety of side dishes was limited. Despite having fried food ready, they couldn't serve it quickly enough. After placing my order for rice and soup, I paid at the register and waited for a seat. The limited seating caused delays in both ordering and eating, creating a cycle of congestion. I eventually chose grilled salmon, the last piece left, along with miso soup and rice. The portion sizes were not specified, so I opted for a smaller meal. It turned out to be a good choice. My friend, who waited longer at a different restaurant, seemed to prefer my meal over their udon set. Lesson learned - make sure to check out all the options before deciding where to eat!

In the midst of a busy work schedule, I managed to squeeze in a short trip!! Took a Jetstar flight (GK351) to Okinawa. Before that, had breakfast at the airport. The first terminal's second floor is under renovation, but "TastyStreet" is still open. I had mackerel simmered in soy sauce for 380 yen, topped with dried baby sardines for 130 yen, with rice for 200 yen, and miso soup for 120 yen. The total came to 830 yen, which is expected at an airport. It was a rainy day nationwide, and you could see a sea of rain clouds from the window. It's probably raining at the destination too... Location: Osaka Prefecture, Izumisano City, Izumisano Airport North 1072-456-6602. Open from 7:00 to 22:00, open all year round. Feel free to follow me on Instagram/Facebook/Twitter. I participate in blog rankings, so your one click is greatly appreciated! Recently, the clicks have been increasing, thank you! Please continue to support me in the future.

On December 22, 2021 (Wednesday), I went to work at Kansai International Airport, which spans across Izumisano City, Sennan City, and Tajiiri Town in Izumisano District, Osaka Prefecture. During my busy workday, I decided to have lunch at "Maido Ookini Shokudo Kanku Shokudo" located in Terminal 1 of Kansai International Airport at 12:25 p.m. As usual, I was indecisive about what to eat, but I ended up choosing a regular portion of rice for 180 yen, a hearty miso soup for 110 yen, a croquette with cabbage for 130 yen, and a fried shumai with cabbage for 280 yen, totaling 700 yen. Since there was a 10% discount for Kansai Airport employees, I paid 630 yen. I dressed the cabbage with dressing and poured sauce over the croquette before digging in. The food at Maido Ookini Shokudo was pre-made, so it lacked the freshness and crispiness of freshly cooked dishes. However, the croquette had a good flavor, and the rice and miso soup were satisfying. The fried shumai, which I tried for the first time, had a crispy skin and a soft filling, making it incredibly delicious. Of course, I finished every last bite.

The food court offers a typical Maido Ookini dining experience, with a slightly limited selection of dishes. The tamagoyaki (rolled omelette) can be ordered at the opposite end of the register. I had the following meal: large serving of rice, pork miso soup, deep-fried eggplant, salt-grilled salmon, and tamagoyaki with green onions and dried baby sardines. When I reached the register after taking my time to choose, the tamagoyaki was already prepared.

On May 29, 2021, even though it was a Saturday, it was a working day. I visited Kansai International Airport, which spans across Izumisano City, Sennan City, and Tajiiri Town in Izumisano District, Osaka Prefecture. During my lunch break at 12:25, I revisited "Maido Ookini Shokudo Kansai Airport Branch" located in Terminal 1 of Kansai International Airport. For lunch, I chose "rice (180 yen)," "miso soup (110 yen)," "croquette (130 yen)," and "rolled omelette (200 yen)," totaling 620 yen. With a 10% discount for airport employees, the total came to 558 yen. The rice, hot miso soup, croquette with shredded cabbage, and freshly made rolled omelette were all delicious. The rolled omelette with optional toppings of pickled ginger, green onions, and dried baby sardines was especially tasty and fluffy. The meal was so good that I quickly finished everything.

I work at Kansai Airport and for lunch on May 13th, 2021 (Thursday), I revisited "Maido Ookini Shokudo Kansai Shokudo" located in Terminal 1. I chose the lunch set which consisted of rice for 180 yen, miso soup for 110 yen, and tonkatsu for 330 yen, totaling 620 yen. Since there is a 10% discount for Kansai Airport employees, I paid only 558 yen. The tonkatsu, although not freshly fried, had a crispy coating and tender pork, making it very delicious. The miso soup with plenty of ingredients like daikon was also very tasty and I finished every last bit.

I arrived at Kansai Airport after a long time. It's a quiet time and afternoon, so I decided to grab something to eat before my flight. Most of the restaurants were temporarily closed, so I chose this place. The food court was empty, with only two employees working hard. I decided to get some vegetables, so I ordered salted meat and bean sprouts (310 yen), spicy nanohana (rapeseed flowers) salad (120 yen), and beef sukiyaki (390 yen). I also got a large portion of rice (280 yen) and miso soup (110 yen) at the register, totaling 1210 yen. I definitely overate. The food was a bit bland, but it was decent for the price. I quietly finished my meal and headed to my flight. It's convenient that electronic money is accepted at the airport. Time to board the flight!

I work at Kansai Airport, and for lunch on April 17th, 2021, I decided to eat at "Maido Ookini Shokudo Kansai Shokudo" located in Terminal 1. I chose the following lunch set: rice for 180 yen, miso soup for 110 yen, and shredded cabbage and minced cutlet for 220 yen, totaling 510 yen... Oh no, it's expensive! As an employee at Kansai Airport, I received a 10% discount, so I paid 459 yen. I quickly poured sauce over the minced cutlet and tried the lunch set. The minced cutlet was packed with meat and had more volume than it appeared. Surprisingly, I felt full and it was very delicious.

It's been a while since I visited Kansai Airport. I was surprised to see that Taste Avenue is facing a wave of closures, leaving the streets deserted. It seems that the high dependency on international flights has taken a toll. This particular restaurant was still open, but operating only until 8pm due to the state of emergency. Even so, it was nearly empty. I had a set meal with grilled egg, side dishes, rice, and miso soup for just under 800 yen. It's a bit pricey for a "Thank You Very Much Dining" restaurant, but I guess it's the airport price. I opted for microwaved white fish. The taste was similar to other "Thank You Very Much Dining" restaurants. I hope they can keep the restaurants at Kansai Airport running.

After returning from a trip, there was some time between breakfast and lunch. The food court on the second floor was the only place open, which was convenient. I started craving a meal, and I found it satisfying to be able to choose my own food. There are many dining options like this in town, but at the airport, the food somehow tastes even better. I ended up taking too much of the freshly cooked rolled omelette and grilled fish. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal ♡

I was totally shocked! I missed my flight at Narita Airport, so I had to take a late-night bus to Namba and then a morning express train to Kansai International Airport. From there, it took me 9 hours to get to New Caledonia. In total, it took about 20 hours and cost more than double the usual amount! And of course, I had the classic last meal of Japanese food at the airport. It was a grilled mackerel set meal and fried horse mackerel! Perfect^_^ With all that, I safely made it to New Caledonia and back. Ossu ossu!

I'm going to Hokkaido! Taking the 2 o'clock JAL flight, checked in my luggage and had lunch. Today, I'm just going to Sapporo. Using the Hankyu Travel golf package. For lunch, this food court-like place is great. Everyone can buy their own food and eat here! Starting from the left at Kansai Airport food court. First, I got the rolled omelette, my must-order item. Today, I got the one with green onions. Then the salted mackerel and miso soup. Unlike usual, there's highball available today. Psshh! Opening the highball and drinking it with the rolled omelette. Feeling like it's going to be a fun trip. Tonight, what should I eat in Susukino? Thank you for the meal!
