I love this standing bar in Nishinari, Osaka! Nishinari Standing Bar Ginji Maido! Yamadera is the place. On this day, I enjoyed ladder drinks in Nishinari. The shop is my favorite standing bar, Ginji. The atmosphere of the shop and detailed information are also uploaded on YouTube, so please check it out. As soon as I entered the shop, it was crowded as expected! I started with a draft Sudachi Chu-hi for 340 yen. Just then, a famous lady with nose hair was drinking, so I enjoyed chatting with her as I visited. I tried the recommended green chili miso pickle for 190 yen by the lady with nose hair. At first, it was delicious with the richness and sweetness of miso, but then it was spicy!! But delicious!! But spicy!! It felt like the spiciness was raging in my mouth for a while. However, the deliciousness somehow becomes addictive. Another dish was the tuna offcuts for 290 yen. The fatty and lean parts mixed together was incredibly delicious. Perfect for sake! But the spiciness still lingered (laughs). I also had Panmimi Sugar for 290 yen, a nostalgic dish of fried bread crusts with sugar. Thanks to this, the spiciness and tingling sensation in my mouth disappeared (laughs). However, it was nostalgic and delicious. The lady with nose hair is such a fun person. Ponchuu is a famous dish. It's refreshing and easy to drink. The food includes skewers starting from 90 yen, and the side dishes are around 300-400 yen, making it a satisfying menu. Even around 4:30 pm on weekdays, the place is almost always full, showing its popularity. It's also nice to receive a sticker on the way out.

"From 'Nariya' and 'Hana no Yama', we visited this place as the third stop! It was still only 11:30 when we arrived, haha. Lemon chu-hai, Pon-juice, Ikadama-chan, and Panmimi Tuna Cheese Yaki were all delicious and reasonably priced. This popular standing bar in Nishinari is great, you can still find seating though, haha. The Pon-juice chu-hai was unique and tasty! Ikadama was like okonomiyaki and was amazing! Panmimi Tuna Cheese Yaki had lots of tuna, cheese, and ketchup, it was incredibly delicious! Perfect for drinking, highly recommended!"

Today, I explored Imazeki to the fullest. I really delved into the deep side of Nishinari. The kushikatsu is mostly around 90 yen per skewer, and as expected, Nishinari is cheap. The interior of the restaurant is only counter seating. There were a few regular customers. The sashimi, such as tuna, is quite good. There are also plenty of other delicious dishes. This time, I visited multiple places, so next time I want to go to just one place.

We arrived early in the morning from Nagoya to Shin-Osaka, then took the Midosuji Line directly to the zoo. In front of the zoo, "Tachinomi Ginji". This day was a drinking tour in Nishinari. The second place we went to was "Ginji" located right by the exit 9 of Dobutsuen-mae Station. I didn't have any prior information, but it seems like a famous place with lots of YouTubers posting about it, as the walls were covered with signatures and influencer stickers. It was the shop's anniversary celebration that day, so it was packed with regular customers. I sat at the counter seat with a standing counter behind me. The draft beer is only 290 yen! It's served in a plastic cup, but it's cheap and good. Skewers and oden are only 90 yen each, with some high-end items like oysters priced at 150 yen. Most of the side dishes are also 290 yen. The skewers include quail, beef, yam, and chicken with sauce poured on top, not dipped in sauce. They may not be exceptionally delicious, but at this price, it's a great deal! The oden has various items like eggs, konjac, and thick fried tofu, with a rich and sweet flavor. It's oden that goes well with alcohol. The tuna sashimi for 290 yen looked delicious, so I ordered it. Isn't it too cheap?! The Ponchuu for 340 yen is like a chu-hi made with juice. It goes down smoothly. I ordered more skewers: Marushin hamburger, garlic skewer, and scallop (150 yen). The Marushin hamburger skewer is a soul food that is simple and tasty when eaten with demi-glace sauce. The garlic skewer also goes well with alcohol. It cost around 2000 yen for two people. It's definitely cheap! I visited the famous standing bar Ginji in Nishinari! Even though it was a weekday afternoon, it was almost full. It's a standing bar, but when it's not too crowded, there are chairs available (laughs). I tried the popular Ponchuu, which was easy to drink and very refreshing. Nishinari has a scary image, but the staff welcomed me with great kindness!

This week, I had 5 consecutive night shifts with about 2 hours of overtime per day. I'm quite tired. And to make things worse, I slipped and hit my right knee on a metal plate in the early morning... it hurts to walk, especially on stairs. Now, I'm at Dobutsuen-mae on the Sakaisuji Line. Yes, I'm going to have a drink in Nishinari, starting a bit later than usual, around 11 am, so I have more options. I walked south from the station and stumbled upon a shop that is usually closed... Ginjin was open! I decided to check it out. The shop had an L-shaped counter and two standing drinking spaces at the back. It's quite small. The chairs at the L-shaped counter were just cushions on barrels, not very comfortable to sit on. In the kitchen, there was the owner and his wife, who seemed quite lively. I started with a lemon sour, served in a plastic cup. This is the kind of vibe you get in Nishinari. I wrote down my order on a piece of paper and handed it over. The first dishes that arrived were oden with thick fried tofu and daikon, pig's feet, and asparagus. The oden was below convenience store quality, the pig's feet were tender but lacked volume, and the asparagus was simply delicious. The best part was when the customer next to me asked if I needed sauce. The space was so cramped that customers had to make way for each other to pass by. It's a neighborhood with a lot of human warmth. It might be difficult to go back for a second visit, but if I ever feel like trying their signature drink, Ponchu, a mix of Pon juice and shochu, I'll definitely stop by again. The cool master and the landlady who runs this local bar with strength. They seem to handle various customers with ease. Their smiles and conversational skills are amazing. What I had was the melt-in-your-mouth simmered pig's trotters for 290 yen, the southern barbarian for 290 yen, and the ham cutlet for 150 yen. The famous pig's trotters are served with just the meat. No need to worry about getting your hands dirty. It's so tender and delicious. The regular customers greet each other with "Good morning" and "Cheers" with such joy. Even the staff are toasting. The combination of "Good morning" and "Cheers" was quite surprising. Well, I'm also drinking today. This time, there were only regular customers, and I was a bit overwhelmed. The interior of the restaurant consists only of a counter, with seating for about 10 people. The menu on the wall is mostly priced at 300 yen or less. The kushiage ranges from 90 yen to 150 yen, which is super cheap. I recommend the "Ponchuu (340 yen)," a shochu mixed with pon juice. It's easy to drink and dangerously good. The winter limited "Oyster Kushiage (150 yen)" is incredibly plump and delicious! Creamy and piping hot! You're sure to burn your mouth (laughs). Of course, you have to try the pickled ginger! The Pulcotti dipped in Tsuruhashi's spicy miso was amazing! It's spicy but addictive! The owner and regulars told me that it's a punishment dish to eat, but if you like spicy food, you'll love it. I want to have this spicy miso at home too (laughs). The owner might close early in the evening due to his whims, which is a unique rule of this area.

Went bar hopping in Nishinari. Second stop was Gini, a place I've been wanting to try. Visited for the first time on Tuesday, September 22, 2020. Their eel skewers were delicious and huge! The pork trotters were so tender and amazing. The taste was incredible. Also, mixing pon juice into the draft highball was delicious. #Gini #Nishinari
