During this trip, the only place I visited that was crowded with tourists during peak hours was Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. I decided to eat at this restaurant that looked delicious and was off the main route. There were other customers already there, but I was able to get in without waiting. Since it's a restaurant that serves motsunabe (tripe hot pot), it's a bit messy with menus that are a bit sticky, but that's not a problem. I thought I would have a set meal, but since the motsunabe was discounted during lunchtime, I decided to have hot pot for lunch. Before visiting the shrine! The lunch menu didn't have any descriptions, but I imagined that it was missing a few items from the evening course that costs 3500 yen. However, it included horse sashimi, fried horse meat, vinegar motsu (tripe), cold tofu, motsunabe (upgraded to the secret flavor for an additional 200 yen), and champon noodles. It seemed like they just removed the gyoza from the evening course? The discount was surprising, even compared to some coupons! The horse sashimi was tender and delicious, just like the name suggests! The fried horse meat, while not from Nakatsu, was delicious, as expected from Kyushu fried food. The portion was bigger than I expected, but I finished it all. The vinegar motsu was my first time trying it, and it was similar to the skin of blowfish hot pot, which was really good. Is it also available in Osaka? The motsunabe, originally soy sauce flavored, was changed to the spicy miso secret flavor. It had a lot of cabbage, tofu, and other ingredients piled high. The tripe was soft and fatty. The secret spicy miso flavor was not too spicy but had a rich taste that was delicious. The champon noodles were a huge portion for two people. Overall, it was really delicious. Lunch - Horse sashimi motsunabe course 2000 yen, upgraded to secret flavor for 200 yen, Highball - ?
