This is a story about "Eenonka", a 9-day adventure in Wakayama Prefecture from Friday to the following Saturday, with 7 nights of continuous activities. Is it really necessary for the office to be in Osaka? Within those 7 nights, there was one night of accommodation in Izumisano. It may not be a typical place to stay, but due to the schedule, it became the first overnight stay within the prefecture. Is it really okay? After checking into a hotel near Izumisano Station, finishing up some email work, I eagerly headed out. It was still 5:57 PM. Is it really okay? There were two promising restaurants I had bookmarked. I was well-prepared for that. One restaurant was on the west side of the station, and the other was on the east side. Despite the high sun, I was excited and a bit nervous as I intentionally got lost. The restaurant on the east side seemed to be located in a slightly sketchy alley off a wide street. I peered into the alley from the wide street on the east side...Wow! The atmosphere seemed a bit intimidating. While the entrance to the restaurant was clearly marked, the overall vibe of the alley was a bit dodgy. If it was in a different location, there might have been someone calling customers in. My heart racing, I approached the restaurant and pushed open the sliding door. Okay! The interior of the restaurant looked lively and welcoming. I was led to a seat at the counter. The display case at the counter was filled with fresh seafood. I was immediately drawn to it. I ordered a draft beer to start. Cheers! It was delicious. However, I was having a hard time deciding what to order. I wanted to try everything, but I settled on a sashimi platter for now. The appetizers were simmered beans and sweetened bonito. The bonito was incredibly tasty. My anticipation grew. The counter, which had only a few people at first, started to fill up, and reserved seats were quickly taken. It seemed to be a popular local spot. The sashimi platter arrived. It was a colorful display of local fish. Each piece was like a jewel. The horse mackerel was sweet and flavorful. The mackerel was fresh and tasty. The flounder was thick and flavorful. The tuna was tender and delicious. The Spanish mackerel was sweet and juicy. The saury was juicy and had no fishy taste. The bonito was rich and flavorful. The yellowtail was fatty and delicious. The ark shell was a delight with its oceanic flavor and texture. It was an amazing platter. And all of this for just a little over 1,000 yen. Is it really okay? I couldn't believe it. I kept sipping on my sweet potato shochu. The atmosphere was so pleasant. I was in a good mood. It was amazing. I couldn't resist ordering the fried fish. It was so delicious. The crispy texture, the tender flesh, and the comforting flavor. It was perfect. And there was quite a lot of it. I also ordered the marinated horse mackerel. The restaurant was buzzing with energy. It was a great atmosphere. It was not as rowdy as in Osaka. I kept ordering sweet potato shochu, and it was still okay. I had another serving of the marinated horse mackerel. It was so good. The texture of the horse mackerel was just right. The miso flavor and the fishy taste were a perfect match. Even with another serving of sweet potato shochu, it was still okay. I had a great time eating and drinking. It was fantastic! The atmosphere of the restaurant was great, the fish was amazing, and there were so many different types of fish and shellfish to choose from. There were also meat dishes on the menu, but I was indecisive. The display case full of shellfish was captivating. It was a wonderful encounter. I would love to come back again, even without work, just taking the Nankai train. No, I will definitely come back!!!
