The firmness of the noodles was just right, but I wish they were thicker. I didn't realize it was Kyushu ramen when I entered the shop. The noodles were thin. The black garlic oil was fragrant, and when I added garlic, it became even more delicious. The chashu was thick and fatty, very tasty. My companion's dish had less fat, and even the color of the soup was different, like a different menu. Next time, I want to try adding extra noodles or rice.

I visited the restaurant next to the Autobacs while waiting for an oil change. I was drawn in by a prominent sign. I thought the food would be thick and heavy, but surprisingly the portions were small. I didn't quite understand the ordering rules, but I saw someone order an extra serving of noodles, so maybe you can adjust the amount you order.

Today I came to the Higashi Ward of Sapporo in the morning. For lunch, I had ramen at a ramen shop. I had the "Oppeshan Chashumen" for 1,270 yen. It's a rare Kumamoto ramen shop in Sapporo. But it seems the origin is not Kumamoto, but Sendai, haha. "Oppeshan" means "ugly" in Kumamoto dialect, but the ramen was delicious. The tonkotsu soup with plenty of garlic oil had a strong umami flavor. The tender braised pork belly chashu was like soft cartilage soki. The straight white thin noodles are definitely Kyushu style. I prefer them a bit firmer, so next time I'll go for the firmer noodles.

In June 2023, I visited a ramen shop for the first time in my area. The shop used to be a Tsutaya store, which I occasionally visited when it was still there. The exterior of the shop wasn't very appealing to me, and it seemed a bit noisy. I'm not a big fan of Kyushu-style or tonkotsu ramen, but I decided to try it out since it was "Tonkotsu Day." I ordered the regular ramen, and to my surprise, the tonkotsu soup was smooth and not too overpowering. The straight noodles paired well with the broth, and the pork was tender. Adding the garlic provided on the side enhanced the flavor. I also tried the gyoza, which had a thin and crispy skin. Overall, my experience at the shop was better than I expected, and I might visit again on another Tonkotsu Day.

This is a ramen that is definitely for men. The strong garlic flavor and rich, oily broth are irresistibly appetizing. It's the perfect ramen to boost your energy after drinking. I wasn't a fan of thin noodles before, but I've come to love them with this ramen. The chashu is tender and falls apart easily! It's a ramen that you'll want to eat over and over again, and it becomes addictive.

During the day, I felt like having a beer and ended up coming here. I had some fried chicken and dumplings. The dumplings were Kumamoto-style, packed tightly with meat. The fried chicken was lightly seasoned, and I also added some condiments from the table. I forgot to take a picture, but we also had ramen as a finishing touch. It was delicious.

The ramen at Oppeshan Ramen is topped with tender cartilage meat that is rich and creamy without being too heavy. The thin noodles make it easy to finish quickly. There used to be a garlic paste at each table, but it was missing this time. However, the dish still had a strong garlic flavor even without it. The walkways are a bit narrow so be careful when moving around. The BGM playing was from the Showa era, which was nice. On this day, they were playing "Heart no Ace ga Detekonai" by Candies.

It's a shop I visit frequently. The parking lot is shared with Lawson and a sports gym, so it's spacious, but it's always full during lunchtime, so finding a spot is the first task, haha. The lunch set with two pieces of fried chicken at Oppeshan Ramen is a bit of a deal at lunchtime. The taste is the reliable black garlic tonkotsu. You can feel satisfied without getting an extra serving of noodles.

This is a ramen restaurant located in the Higashi-ku Kosei area of Sapporo, along the circular road. It was my first visit in a while. I tried the aged miso tonkotsu ramen with just the right amount of oil. The miso flavor was not too strong, just a hint in the rich tonkotsu soup base, which was dominated by the aroma of garlic-infused oil. The garlic was quite strong, but more from the oil than the soup itself. I don't remember much about it, but the pork belly chashu was incredibly tender and delicious. I usually don't care much for chashu, but this one was really good. Overall, a reliably tasty ramen at Oppeshan. It's conveniently located within lunch break distance from my workplace, so I might visit more often. Thank you for the meal!

I visited this place thinking it looked very traditional and authentic. The time from ordering to serving was quick. It was my first time, so I ordered the "Oppeshan Ramen". I chose firm noodles and a perfect amount of oil. The soup was very oily. The chashu was mostly collagen, and the flavored egg was delicious. The noodles were thin and I could enjoy them at my preferred firmness. There was garlic on the table, so I added a spoonful to the soup. It added a subtle garlic flavor that made it easy to eat. I tried the Oppeshan ramen. It was my first visit, so I ordered the recommended firmness of noodles and the perfect ratio of oil. The strong aroma of burnt garlic oil in the rich tonkotsu soup was delicious. The thin noodles had a nice firmness and paired well with the soup. This ramen is typical of Kumamoto style, but it may not be for everyone as it is quite oily and salty. Despite being rich, it wasn't overpoweringly porky, making it easy to eat. It seems to be a shop with a main focus on tonkotsu (pork bone broth) ramen with its main store in Kumamoto. The staff are very energetic! I had the "Oppeshan Ramen" for 850 yen. I chose normal firmness and flavor for the noodles. They were thin noodles. The black oil on top must be ma-yu (burnt garlic oil). It has a fragrant taste and is delicious. The meat was very tender. This shop is located in Higashi-ku, Sapporo City. In Hokkaido, there are not many opportunities to encounter authentic Kyushu ramen, especially Kumamoto ramen. It has been a while since the shop opened, but I finally visited. I ordered the "Oppeshan Ramen". It was served in about 5 minutes. The rich soup has a bit of oil in it. It goes perfectly with the thin noodles. Despite the rich soup, it is a ramen that you won't get tired of eating. It was delicious, so I ordered an extra serving. I would like to visit again.

When I was young, I used to like rich tonkotsu soup Kumamoto ramen. It's my second visit. As expected, it's crowded today. You can adjust the firmness of the noodles and the soup. I ordered: ◆ Oppeshan ramen (600 yen) firm, just right ◆ Flavored egg ◆ Extra noodles (130 yen) firm. The soup is black with black oil already mixed in, giving it a rich tonkotsu and garlic flavor. The soup is a bit sticky on the lips and makes your throat dry, but it's delicious. Kyushu tonkotsu ramen goes really well with garlic, so I added it early this time. Garlic is so good. The noodles were ordered firm, typical of Kumamoto ramen, a bit thicker. The texture was more chewy and sticky than I expected. I prefer firmer noodles with a different taste. The chashu was well-seasoned and tasty, not overshadowed by the soup. It was soft and easy to bite into. The smoked egg was a perfect match for this soup. It was slightly more seasoned. Overall, it feels like the Kumamoto ramen I know has evolved in taste. This one hits you hard and might be more delicious. Thank you for the meal!

Ramen restaurant along Kanko-dori in Higashi-ku, Sapporo City, Hokkaido. Specializing in Kumamoto-style tonkotsu ramen. The name "Oppe-shan" in Kumamoto dialect means "ugly" or "unattractive". The restaurant has banners of ramen hanging along the wall. Visited on a weekday at 12 pm. The interior is quite spacious, with a kitchen space on the right side. There are counter seats in front and table booths by the window. The staff consists of female employees only. Customers are encouraged to sit at the counter. There are two solo male customers at the counter and several groups at the table booths. Ordered the tonkotsu ramen. Customers can choose the firmness of the noodles and the richness of the lard when ordering. Ordered the "Oppe-shan ramen" for 850 yen. The ramen was served relatively quickly. The soup appeared blackish, which was actually the lard. The special lard was made by roasting garlic until it reached the peak of flavor and aroma. When scooping up the noodles, the tonkotsu soup emerged from under the lard. The soup had a rich tonkotsu flavor with a strong saltiness. The noodles were firm and al dente, which was to my liking. The toppings included simmered "soft bone soki meat" in a soy-based sauce, which was soft and chewy. Half a boiled egg was included, and I received the other half for free with a coupon from adding the restaurant on LINE. The toppings also included roasted seaweed, wood ear mushrooms, and green onions. I added the "garlic paste" provided on the counter to the soup, which resembled miso but was actually garlic paste. Be careful not to add too much as it can become bitter. Instead of ordering an extra serving of noodles, I added rice to the remaining soup and enjoyed it. The restaurant is completely non-smoking, and the air is clean. Payment is cash only at the register near the entrance, it would be convenient if they accepted cards or electronic payments. Next time, I might try the "Maru-toku Oppe-shan" with various vegetable toppings.

I went to Sapporo for work for the first time. I had work in Higashi Ward, so I decided to have lunch here. The interior of the restaurant is clean and the staff are very friendly. I was thinking of getting the red ramen, but I changed my mind and went for the fish sauce pork bone ramen. It arrived quickly and looked delicious. The aroma was great and the noodles were perfectly cooked. The broth was flavorful with just the right amount of garlic. The chashu was tender and delicious. I had a lunch meeting and stopped by Ramen Oppeshan on Route 14 for lunch. The restaurant is located next to a gym with a shared parking lot. The atmosphere was nice, and the female staff members were friendly and energetic. I ordered the Oppeshan Ramen (800 yen), which is a rich tonkotsu ramen from Kumamoto. The broth was creamy and delicious, and the chashu pork slices were amazing. I was worried about it being too heavy, but it was actually very satisfying and tasty.

【First visit on December 24, 2021】On this day, I received materials and took photos at a site where work will start in earnest from the beginning of the year, but in the midwinter of Sapporo, I felt cold to the core of my body. (>_<) For lunch, I visited a Kumamoto ramen restaurant called "Ramen Oppeshan Kitajushi Kosei-ten" for the first time and ordered the "Oppeshan Ramen (tax included 800 yen)" with a topping of "Thick Menma (tax included 120 yen)". During weekday lunchtime, rice is free and you can have seconds for free. By the way, this restaurant serves Kumamoto ramen, but it is a chain originating from Sendai. Oppeshan means "a popular person who is not necessarily beautiful but has a good personality" in Kumamoto dialect. The noodles are thin like Hakata ramen and I chose the firmness level as "Medium" out of 5 options, and the amount of fat as "Moderate" out of 3 options. The richly flavored chili oil gave the ramen a deep taste, and it was delicious without the strong smell of Hakata tonkotsu ramen. Thank you for the meal. After buying a snow shovel at the Autobacs on Kita 14-jo, I stumbled upon a Kumamoto ramen shop and decided to visit. Upon researching, I found out that the main branch is actually in Miyagi, not Kumamoto. It was my first time visiting Oppeshan Ramen, so I immediately ordered the Oppeshan Ramen. It was great that I could choose the firmness of the noodles after a long time. The firmness and richness of the broth were just right. When the bowl arrived, I took a sip of the soup - the tonkotsu broth was rich, but the impact of the burnt garlic in the black garlic oil was amazing! I should have gone for the extra firm noodles next time. It's not easy to find Kumamoto-style tonkotsu ramen in Sapporo, so I'll come back here when I feel like having slate noodles.
