Today was a busy day...I'm hungry. Let's have ramen again. I stopped by Ichikokudo on my way home and tried their miso ramen, which I hadn't had before. They even gave me some rice as a service, which was nice. The soup was mainly white miso, with a rich and hearty flavor. It had a classic style that I really enjoyed. The toppings included stir-fried bean sprouts, menma, char siu, and a large amount of wood ear mushrooms. I wish I had added an egg as a topping. This ramen is also recommended with rice. It was delicious as always. I look forward to trying their salt ramen next time.

As autumn approaches, it doesn't feel too cool, with a drizzle making it humid. I had a craving for ramen, so I decided to revisit a ramen shop. I was planning to have miso ramen, but I was curious about the abura soba, so I ordered that instead. I opted for the free extra-large serving. After a short wait, the bowl arrived. It looked so delicious! The toppings included chashu, menma, spinach, green onions, egg yolk, and nori. The noodles had a nice color that made them look appetizing. I mixed everything together. The sauce wasn't overpowering, allowing the flavors of the egg and toppings to shine through. It was delicious and had a nice richness to it. While ramen is great, sometimes abura soba on days like this is a good choice! I'm glad I chose this today. It was so tasty that now I'm thinking about what to eat next time. Thank you for the meal!

Today was hot during the day, but I finished work early and it started to cool down a bit, so I decided to come here for reference reviews! The entrance and interior of the restaurant have a nice feel to them, making me feel nostalgic. I ordered the chicken broth soy sauce ramen after some hesitation, and it was served promptly. The appearance was just to my liking, simple yet appetizing! The flavor was quite strong, with a rich taste of chicken broth and saltiness. It's not a light chicken broth, but that's totally fine. Additionally, they served a small rice with barley as a bonus, which made me very happy. This ramen is definitely recommended to be eaten with rice. It was my first time here, but the atmosphere of the restaurant and the delicious ramen have guaranteed my return visit. Thank you for the meal!

After following the posts, I learned that Ikkokudo has only one store in Hokkaido, which is the Ebetsu store. I used to think there were quite a few stores, but now that I think about it, I haven't seen them around recently. I had a big misunderstanding in my mind. Wasn't it a Hakata tonkotsu restaurant? That's what I thought it was, but it was actually Ippudo. Since I knew where the Ebetsu store was, I went there immediately. That's right, it's a store known for its rich and creamy broth. I think the last time I ate there was around the Biba area. After looking it up, it seems like it closed around 2012. So, it had been over 10 years since I last had ramen at Ikkokudo. I had forgotten what it tasted like, but it was delicious.

I saw a review saying there is no Ichikokudo other than the Ebetsu branch and it made me really want to eat there again after a long time, so I went. The parking lot is still difficult to park in as usual, but the ramen was delicious as always. I had the shoyu ramen, and my partner had the shio ramen. There was a paper on the menu with a corrected price, but it was still only 770 yen. It's cheap, right?! I love the miso, shoyu, and shio ramen at this place! Especially the shoyu ramen is the best when you add the free barley rice at the end! I was curious about the chicken bone shoyu ramen. Thank you for the meal!

There is only one branch of Ramen Shodaiichikokudo in Ebetsu, Hokkaido. I have been here a few times, but this is my first review. I had the lunch set A on a weekday, which costs 880 yen and includes ramen, gyoza, barley rice, and pickles. It's a great deal for this price. The miso ramen has a slightly sweet and rich soup with minced meat which I enjoyed. The chashu is tender and melts in your mouth, which I like. The wood ear mushrooms don't have much flavor, but the bean sprouts and bamboo shoots are good. The noodles are medium-thick curly noodles, which I also like. The miso ramen has a nostalgic taste to it. The gyoza could have more filling, but the barley rice is good. I hope Ramen Shodaiichikokudo continues to thrive. Thank you for the meal.

Today I went to Ichikokudo! I arrived just before lunchtime and there were seats available. I ordered my usual miso ramen with extra noodles and firm texture. The small rice bowl is free, but I wanted to focus on the ramen, so I said no thanks to the rice. It arrived in just a few minutes and looked delicious - with bean sprouts, bamboo shoots, chashu pork, and wood ear mushrooms. The fresh green onions added a nice touch. I took a sip of the soup and it was hot!! Really hot! I burned my tongue on the first sip (laughs). It was delicious and rich. The ground pork in the soup added depth and flavor. The noodles had a perfect firmness and chewiness that paired well with the soup. It was really good. If I had to nitpick, the bean sprouts were a bit too crunchy for my taste. I prefer them a bit softer. But overall, I would definitely come back again. I finished every drop of the soup today! Thank you for the meal!

I like spicy ramen so I ordered the Jan Ramen. The spiciness is just right and the soup has a rich flavor. The yellow thin noodles mix well with the soup. The chashu is thick, but it blends well with the soup. Personally, I prefer thinner chashu. Overall, it was delicious. Next time, I want to try the salt ramen. I ordered the staff meal for my rice, and it was soboro don with a strong ginger flavor.

2022♡♡7th cup 1/16 around 6 pm Spicy ramen! I got off the train on my way home from work and walked quickly to get there (lol). Hmm, the parking lot seems difficult to enter if you're driving. I wonder if it would be better without snow?? There were 2 groups of customers ahead of me and no one behind me. Lately, I've been into eating spicy food so I decided to try the spicy ramen. I also had some barley rice and ate a lot (lol). No photos (lol). I remember going to Ichikokudo in the past and not thinking it was very delicious. It's been so long, but Ichikokudo was tasty this time! I liked that the soup portion was not small and I was satisfied. It was a bit spicy, but it made me want to try other flavors. It's nice to see that they have been able to continue for a long time! Most importantly, when they said "thank you for coming" loudly as I was leaving, I wondered if they would welcome me even if I came alone. That makes me want to go back again. Thank you for the meal! *(^o^)/* I will go again.

The restaurant is located along Route 12. After following the navigation instructions, I had trouble finding the entrance and made a couple of wrong turns before finally reaching the parking lot, which was a bit small. The interior of the restaurant was spacious and filled with the aroma of tonkotsu broth. I ordered the Miso Char Siu Ramen for 990 yen, and received a complimentary small bowl of rice. The ramen arrived steaming hot, with a rich and flavorful broth that was surprisingly refreshing. The noodles were made by Sagamiya and had a hint of a pleasant aroma, possibly from kansui. The large pieces of wood ear mushrooms were crunchy and soaked up the soup perfectly. The thick slices of char siu were delicious. The restaurant seemed popular with families, as a little boy excitedly recognized the smell of ramen. It was a delightful dining experience!

That "Ramen Shodai Ichikokudo" is still in Ebetsu. Upon hearing that information, on my way back from work in Ebetsu, I drive my car to the restaurant. "Ichikokudo" was a ramen shop that gained popularity in the early 2000s. At that time, when it came to eating ramen, it felt like we were rotating between "Tetsuya," "Hinotori," "Yamaokaya," and "Ichikokudo." Upon further research, I found out that "Ichikokudo" was founded in 2000, expanded to 13 stores in and out of Hokkaido, but closed in 2012. I remember there was also a narrow store next to the Yodobashi Camera store. The Ebetsu store is now the only remaining store in Hokkaido. I wonder if it continued under the same name after the headquarters disappeared? The store is located in Ebetsu City, Saiwai-cho. When you head towards Iwamizawa on Route 12, you'll see the store on your left. The store doesn't stand out, so you might miss it if you're not aware. However, the logo and facade of the store are unmistakably "Ichikokudo." It feels like I've slipped back into the Heisei era. Now, I park my car in the parking space in front of the store and enter. I sit at the counter and look at the menu. Apart from the prices, everything seems unchanged from before. The lunch set is quite a deal. I order the "Shoyu Ramen" with "Gyoza," "Mugi Meshi," and a side dish, the "A Set" for 880 yen. The ramen is served in about 5 minutes. A large bowl with tonkotsu-based shoyu ramen with floating lard appears. The appearance doesn't seem to have changed from before. Now, let's dig in. First, the soup. Oh, this is it. This slightly unique, rich tonkotsu soup. It's definitely the taste of "Ichikokudo." Memories come flooding back (bitter smile). The noodles are medium-thick yellow curly egg noodles. They are cooked al dente and have a chewy texture. The noodles are supplied by Sagamiya Seimen. The toppings include nori, green onions, menma, a half-seasoned egg, and two slices of pork belly chashu. The thick chashu is perfectly fatty and tender. The seasoned egg is also well-cooked and has a delicious taste. The side dish gyoza is also tasty. The noodles disappear quickly. I pour the remaining soup over the rice and enjoy it as ochazuke. Delicious. Once again, I finish every last drop of soup and enjoy it. Another satisfying meal. It's great that "Ichikokudo" is still around. I'd love to come back and eat here again when I'm in Ebetsu. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal♬ *75th bowl in 2021 (visited on June 25, 2021)

Visited on April 6, 2021. It's been 5 years since I last came here. It was delicious to eat after a long time. Now, is this the only place in Hokkaido where you can eat Ichikokudo? There used to be several stores in Sapporo, but now there's only this one in Ebetsu, which is precious. I ordered the soy sauce ramen, with the same old flavor topped with back fat. The chashu has changed from round to square pork belly. In the past, they used to serve barley rice during lunchtime, but now, lunchtime offers ramen, gyoza, barley rice, and pickles for only 880 yen, which is a great deal. Perhaps that's why this store has survived by making such efforts. I'm impressed by the cost performance. I will visit again if I have business in Ebetsu. Thank you for the meal.

It's a place in Saitocho 4-chome, Ebetsu City, along National Route 12, but for the exact location, as always, please check the map on Tabelog. I finally visited this restaurant that I had been meaning to go to every time I passed by National Route 12. I parked my car in the front parking lot, walked into the restaurant, and sat at the available counter seat. I ordered the "shio ramen" as usual and waited for it to arrive. It came in about 4-5 minutes, and the ramen had an old-fashioned vibe to it. The soup, made with Nagoya Cochin chicken broth, was light on the chicken flavor and slightly salty. The noodles were medium-thick, yellow in color with a slight wave, but lacked a bit of firmness. The toppings included two slices of chashu, boiled spinach, menma, half a seasoned egg, and chopped green onions. At one time, "Ramen Shodai Ichikokudo" had several branches in Sapporo, but now this Ebetsu branch is the only one in Hokkaido.

National Highway 12, a ramen shop that I had always been curious about at night. I always notice it in passing, thinking "Ah, today was no good again." Without turning back, I move on to the next opportunity. But today, I carefully and attentively found a modest sign along the national highway. As soon as I saw it, I immediately turned on my blinker and was able to make a quick entrance. It was a late dinner time, so there was only one group of customers ahead of me. I quickly sat at the counter and looked at the menu. I remembered that I had heard of "Ichikokudo" before, maybe they had cup ramen. The signboard menu said "Shio Ramen," so I ordered that. I also ordered the free "Barley Rice" out of curiosity. It was served in about 5 minutes. The soup had a slight cloudiness to it, and the saltiness was strong, but it was the kind of saltiness I liked. It seemed to have chicken bone in it, as it was written on the menu. The toppings included spinach, half a boiled egg, skin-on pork char siu, and menma, among others. The noodles were a yellow type with a chewy texture. The barley rice had a small amount of barley and was mostly white rice. The ramen toppings of the boiled egg and very tender char siu were placed on top of the barley rice. I enjoyed mixing them with the ramen soup. I was grateful that the rice was free. The aroma of the soup was strangely fragrant. Thank you for the meal.

Today is the third day of the new year. There were few open shops, but this one was open. Inside, there was one family dining. They ordered the spicy ramen. The customer liked the balance of not being too spicy but still having a kick. However, the wife and mother-in-law, who ordered salt ramen and miso ramen, kept saying it was too salty while eating. When I tried the soup, it was much saltier than the spicy ramen. It was tough to handle. Perhaps this place usually attracts customers who enjoy heavy flavors. The high salt content was concerning. After finishing the meal and going to the restroom, I found it to be dirty. It might be a good idea for them to clean more thoroughly to avoid a negative impression.

Shiora Men 735-525 yen along National Route 12 in Ebetsu, still here! The surviving first-generation Ikunidou (゚Д゚)!! Currently the only store in Hokkaido, or rather one of only two stores in the whole country, our precious place. By the way, the other store is in Sagamihara, Kanagawa Prefecture. The menu is still at 5% consumption tax, hasn't increased in price since about 5 years ago? That's amazing! Service menu depending on the day and time, on this day, there was a weekend-only discount where the salt ramen was 210 yen off, so you can eat the regular one for 525 yen (^^)b. The soup is solid with a light saltiness and a hint of garlic, nothing too special. I don't know about the Nagoya Cochin. The thick chashu comes with 2 and a half slices, the soft-boiled egg is nicely gooey, but the spinach is too soft maybe (^^; When you order ramen, you get a free bowl of barley rice. I didn't notice and ordered the braised pork belly rice bowl for 262 yen. The braised pork belly is well seasoned with two pieces, I wish there was mayonnaise. It made me feel nostalgic (*´∀`) Thank you for the meal (^ω^)

Visited Ichikokudo Ebetsu store, which used to have several stores in Sapporo, on March 3, 2019 [17th visit of the year]. Arrived at 12:20 on Sunday and managed to find a parking spot in the steep parking lot. The restaurant was crowded, mainly with families. I ordered the Shoyu Ramen and a side dish. The ramen, with a rich tonkotsu shoyu soup, was nostalgic and delicious, just like when I had it in Sapporo before. The noodles were medium-thick curly noodles from Sagamiya. The toppings included flavored egg, seaweed, chashu, green onions, and bamboo shoots. The side dish, which I thought would have chashu, turned out to be minced meat, but it was still tasty with toppings of pickled mustard greens and green onions. I couldn't be satisfied with just the side dish, so I added the chashu and flavored egg from the ramen on top of rice and finished it. Overall, I was satisfied with the nostalgic and delicious tonkotsu shoyu ramen, just like when it was in Sapporo. Next time, I want to try the Shoyu Ramen with Barley Rice.

I revisited after a long time. I asked for no pork fat and received a complimentary barley rice. It was a bit salty but had a rich flavor which I personally quite liked. However, I'm not a fan of the yellow curly noodles. Next time, I would like to try the miso or salt flavor.

I was surprised to see it still exists! It used to be everywhere, I wonder what happened. I remember liking it a lot... I used to eat it often in Susukino... I'm looking forward to tasting that nostalgic flavor. Apparently, you get a free small portion of barley rice with the soy sauce ramen priced at 735 yen. Ah, this brings back memories. I might end up coming back again. If anyone knows why it disappeared, please let me know.

I was born and raised in Ebetsu, and for the first time in my life, I traveled around Hokkaido on a motorcycle. On my way back from the trip, I visited this restaurant before boarding the ferry. It was about 10 years ago, so my memory of the location is a bit fuzzy. I saw someone else's post mentioning the Ebetsu branch as the only one remaining, so I wonder if this is a different Ichikokudo. If so, I apologize. However, the "Jyan Karara-men" at Ichikokudo was very flavorful and delicious. Therefore, I wanted to share my review here, even if it might be a different branch.
