This is my first visit for lunch on a regular day♪ This time, I visited "Mashimashi Ramen - The story begins here." which opened in early September. The storefront is prominently labeled as "Jiro-style ramen" (^^) The name of the restaurant is surprisingly long... Osaka has a Jiro-style ramen shop with a name that seems somewhat similar... The location is in Hakata-ku, Chiyoda. It is close to Kyushu University School of Medicine and Fukuoka Prefectural Government. There is no dedicated parking lot for the restaurant, so I visited using a nearby coin parking lot. I visited a little past the opening time of 11:00 during lunch, with two customers already seated. After me, a group of five people arrived and the restaurant quickly became full. There were also customers waiting inside, showing how busy it was. Before taking a seat, I purchased a meal ticket from the ticket machine. The noodle menu consists of the standard "ramen," "spicy ramen," "mazesoba," and "spicy mazesoba." The noodle portion is based on the regular 200g, with options to increase to "large 300g," "extra-large 400g," and "super-extra-large 500g" for an additional 100 yen each. Side menu items include "rice dishes" and toppings such as "raw egg," "green onions," and "cheese," as well as options to add extra noodles like "extra 100g of noodles." Since it was my first visit, I chose the default "ramen for 850 yen." When handing over the meal ticket, you can indicate free toppings such as "extra" or "extra extra" by writing it on the ticket. The free toppings include "vegetables," "seasoned egg," "lard," "bonito flakes," and "garlic." This time, I chose to have everything "extra" except for the "seasoned egg." The bowl arrived shortly after ordering! The vegetable portion was quite generous, with a good amount of bean sprouts and cabbage in an 8:2 ratio. On top, there were bonito flakes and solid lard. Next to the bowl were garlic and pork slices. The garlic was about a tablespoon's worth, but the pork slices were a bit lacking... Well, that's understandable! The noodles were firm with a high water content and slightly curly, about the thickness of the tip of chopsticks. The soup seemed to be made from bonito flakes, with a subtle taste of pork bone or pork broth, and a mild soy sauce flavor. It was light and easy to drink. If I were to be picky, I would say having soy sauce on the table would enhance the flavor, especially with the extra vegetables. Since I ordered the regular portion with 200g of noodles, I finished it quickly (^^)v The customer next to me ordered extra vegetables and extra everything, and the staff warned them, "You cannot give up, but are you okay?" Upon closer inspection of the warning sign posted on the counter, it stated, "Leaving food with extra toppings is strictly prohibited! If you really can't finish it, you will have to work for an hour or pay a 500 yen fine." Let's order based on how much we can eat (^-^) However, even though it recently opened, it would be nice to have some partitions between tables... Thank you for the meal m(_ _)m
