On my way back from a business trip in Osaka, I visited the former Yamatei restaurant located in Lucua, directly connected to Osaka Station. I have been to the Yamatei restaurants in Shitokitazawa and Roppongi before, but this was my first visit in Osaka. Despite being outside of lunch hours, there was a line in front of the restaurant. However, the inside of the restaurant was small but had many seats, and the operation was smooth, so the turnover was fast. While waiting, I was given the menu to order. This time, I ordered the Triple Curry with three different types: A - Katsuo beef and pork keema cooked in red wine, B - Rich white miso and burnt butter creamy white soup pork keema, C - Chicken keema rice cooked with the umami of mushrooms and Japanese dashi. I chose brown rice for the rice. I first tried each curry. A had a punchy flavor with a hint of acidity. The marinated eggplant and pear on the side were interesting. It was a keema with a punch even when eaten alone. B had a rich and creamy flavor with a mix of Japanese and Western elements. This one had a slightly stronger Western influence. C was a keema with a deep flavor of Japanese dashi, which seemed to be the true essence of Yamatei. It might be my favorite. I enjoyed each one thoroughly and had eaten about half when the curry broth was served in a pot. I poured it in and mixed it up, enjoying the different flavors with each bite. Mixing it up took the experience to another level. I felt satisfied and finished my meal. The more you mix, the tastier it gets. This seems to be a common element in Osaka spice curry. Osaka is truly a holy land for spice curry, where you can enjoy this level of quality at this price near the station. Satisfied, I returned to Tokyo. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I visited for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and had to wait in line for about 30 minutes due to the crowd. I ordered the lunch menu where you can choose two items, and I chose A and C. A was Hojicha Beef and Pork Keema, and C was Sri Lankan Keema. The curry looked delicious when it arrived. The Hojicha Beef and Pork Keema was tender and the mango jelly complemented it well. The Sri Lankan Keema was spicy, but the spices were well balanced and had a complex flavor profile. Both curries had a harmonious blend of spices and were truly flavorful. I would definitely want to come back for more.

Arrived at 12:30, 6 people waiting. Entered at 12:45. Chose the Turmeric Rice with All-Katsu Curry (A: Beef & Pork Keema, B: Pork Keema, C: Chicken Keema, D: Coconut Beans). B > A = C = D. The aroma of the spices is good and it's fun that it changes every month. When you don't have much time near Osaka Station, it's a good choice to consider first.

I recently tried the two types of curry at the former Yam Tetsudo in Lucua, which I had been wanting to try because I'm currently into curry. The menu changes monthly and for September, I ordered the Hojicha Beef and Pork Keema and the Sri Lankan Chicken Keema with Bonito. The Hojicha Keema had a stronger hojicha flavor than I expected! When I took a bite, I was like "ohh" (laughs). I love hojicha itself, but I didn't really like it in the curry. For me, the Sri Lankan Chicken Keema was definitely more delicious. It had a good flavor and a satisfying amount of bonito. The curry also had bitter melon and kiwi on top, which were delicious too! I chose the limited-time Lemon Coconut roux pot, which was really tasty with a refreshing lemon acidity. Overall, it was a well-balanced and gentle curry. Personally, I felt it was a bit lacking in something (laughs) and the portion size was smaller than expected for the price. The service from the staff was also not great. The restaurant was smaller than I thought. If they have really appetizing menu items, I might try it again, but I probably won't become a regular customer.

I wanted to visit this place because of the good reviews. I was able to get in early as there was not much of a wait. The interior is small and the narrow aisle can be a bit crowded if there are people lining up. I tried the 4 types of curry dish. The spiced curry has a unique taste, which may be a matter of personal preference. The curry sauce was a bit scarce, so towards the end, it was mostly just the broth for flavor.

This is my third visit. This time, I had the aigake curry again. It had plenty of vegetables, was light and easy to eat with a thin curry sauce. There were quite a few solo female customers, making it easy to enter, and it is conveniently located in the basement of Lucua, which is recommended. I will visit again.

The restaurant is located in the underground second floor of the Osaka Station building, known as Baluchika, with a direct connection to the station. There was a line of 15 people at 12:06, and I waited in the corridor until the staff called me. Surprisingly, I was able to leave at 12:29. The restaurant has a train theme, with the interior decorated with railway goods and a retro feel to the seats, giving the atmosphere of eating in a dining car. The menu offers a choice of 4 monthly curries, where you can choose 2, 3, or 4 varieties. I ordered a combination of 2 curries for 1210 yen. If you have room in your stomach, you may want to order more than 2 varieties. I chose brown rice as my side. Curry A was a black sesame and chestnut houjicha beef and pork keema, while Curry B was a spicy pork with nigella oil and potato yannyeom. The combination of spicy flavors and the houjicha's mellow spiciness was well balanced and delicious. The curry paired nicely with the brown rice, and overall it was a tasty meal.

The deliciousness is as great as ever. I ordered the triple with ingredients other than bitter melon. It's still so delicious, I've been wanting to come here since my mom tried it once. She was satisfied, so I'm glad. The lassi is thick, so if it's not diluted, it becomes like drinking yogurt, which is a bit of a downside, I guess?

I visited the popular restaurant Kuyamu Railway that I've been curious about for a while. I arrived on a Sunday at 3:30 pm and was able to enter without waiting in line, but the place quickly became full. I ordered the two-curry combo (¥1,210) and the Masala Chai ice cream (¥550). The restaurant was cramped and it was hard to eat comfortably. The staff's attitude was not the best either. I understand they were busy, but still... The curry was okay in taste, but the portion was small for the price. Personally, I wouldn't go back.

This week, I visited a restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday. When we arrived around noon, there was already a line of about 10 people outside. Surprisingly, we were seated inside after about 20 minutes, sharing a table with two other groups of people. We ordered some drinks, including a beer and a glass of white wine, and for food, I had the Triple Curry and my wife had the All-Topping Curry. I usually prefer European-style beef curry with tender beef, so I was unsure about the unconventional ingredients like chestnuts, bonito flakes, beans, and bitter melon in the curry. However, it turned out to be delicious, and it has inspired me to try more different types of spiced curry at various restaurants in the future.

It was located deep in the back of the B2 corridor at Lucua Osaka. I was worried if I was going in the right direction, so I checked the map twice. I ordered the mixed curry (you can choose 2 types) and the honey lime lassi. I have no idea what was in each curry (I don't remember what I ordered), but it was the best and most delicious among the spice curries I have ever eaten. I've been to a famous spice curry restaurant before, but the taste lacked depth, like "spices are here!!... and gone." I stopped going there. However, here, the taste is light yet has depth. It's refreshing and great for summer. Personally, I feel it's a bit too light and lacks the satisfaction of eating curry.

Arrived at 12:05 on a weekday, seated at 12:20. I had a spacious solo seat in the far corner, allowing me to eat comfortably. However, the line extends around the corner, so you end up making eye contact with people waiting outside through the window. It would be better if they put up posters or something on the window. I ordered the A side dish with chestnut and mango beef and pork keema, and the C side dish with bonito and bitter melon chicken keema turmeric rice, with a change to lemon coconut. The chestnut in the A dish didn't have much flavor, and the mango was quite chunky, which I didn't really like. The C dish was delicious, but there was too little sauce. I was okay with the combination style, but looking at other dishes, those who ordered the triple or four varieties might find that one type only lasts for about three bites. I saw similar reviews, so I went with the combination style, which was the right choice. The lemon coconut had a stronger lemon flavor than expected, but it was tasty. Overall, I enjoyed the variety and the convenient location, and I think the prices are reasonable, but I did feel that there was not enough sauce.

I visited the restaurant today at an odd time of 4 o'clock, as it is usually crowded. I ordered the mixed curry with beef and pork keema on the right side of the photo (A) and bonito on the left side (C). The curry had a complex layer of spices, with a strong kick at first bite followed by a comforting feeling with the bonito. I chose brown rice and felt quite full after eating. The pickles topping was a nice addition and I wished I had ordered double. Overall, the curry was delicious and had a unique taste. The price of 1210 yen for this mixed curry was reasonable compared to other places. I may not be an expert on spice curry, but I might consider going back again in the future, as it could become addictive.

The restaurant opens at 11 o'clock, but when I arrived at 11:30, there were already 10 people waiting in line. By 12 o'clock, the line had subsided. The groups that enter when the restaurant opens tend to chat and take their time for about an hour, so the turnover isn't very fast. This month's curry allows you to choose the type of toppings, but the portions are small so the curry is delicious but there's too much sauce for just two bites. You can enjoy four different toppings, but it's a bit unsatisfying. It's a shame because it's delicious.

It had flavors like mango, nigella oil (similar to eating chili oil), fresh tomatoes, and onions for enjoying different tastes. The coconut curry was more like a soup than a curry, and it was refreshing. They change the type of curry every month, so I want to go again.

I visited on a regular night. I was looking for a quick bite before work, so I decided to come here. The building was crowded as it was directly connected to Umeda Station, but I managed to slip into the restaurant just in time. I ordered the 4 curry dish set and waited for a bit. It cost 1,595 yen. The 4 curry dishes of the day were: 1. Black sesame and chestnut houjicha beef and pork keema 2. Mango and ginger chutney with eating nigella oil and yam potato yannyeom pork keema 3. Bonito and simmered Sri Lankan chicken keema with bitter melon kikaimarine on top 4. Coconut bean curry with fried tofu and white onion. How do they come up with such unique combinations? The curry was not too spicy and was delicious, offering a new taste experience. It was really tasty. Thank you for the meal.

Hello everyone from all over the country. Thank you for watching my YouTube video. When it comes to explaining the spice curry culture in Osaka, there are many restaurants that could be introduced, but I chose this one because it is located in Osaka Station Building. The Balchika in Lucua offers a space that could be considered a mini Osaka (plus some parts of Kansai), and I must say I am impressed by the tenant recruitment here. This time, I tried the Yam Curry with 4 types of broth plus a roux pot. To counter the spiciness, I ordered extra rice, large pickles, and a warm egg with a rich cheese mix on top. Strictly speaking, ordering a mixed juice lassi would make the meal perfect, but I skipped it this time. I explained more about the restaurant in the video.

I arrived at a curry restaurant in Osaka for a business trip around 11 o'clock. There was a wait for 10 people, but I didn't have to wait long to be seated and eat. I had a confusing dish called "Laa Oil and Potato with Yanniom Pork Keema" and "Katsuo and Sri Lankan Chicken Keema with Goya and Kiwi Marinade" for 1210 yen. I chose brown rice over turmeric rice. The weekday special soup curry had a choice between "Yam Curry with Japanese-style broth" and "Lemon Coconut," and I chose the latter. The curry was flavorful with a good amount of spice, but the portion size was small. Even though others ordered extra-large portions, I was satisfied with my choice.
