A 5-minute walk from Kintetsu Uehonmachi Station. I visited "Udon Ubara" around 1 pm. Even at this time, there were 3 groups waiting, but luckily we were seated in about 15 minutes. I ordered the "A set meal" (mini chicken tempura bowl + raw soy sauce udon + pickles) for 900 yen including tax. The "mini chicken tempura bowl" was crispy and well-cooked, just like the "chiku tempura" and "tama tempura" I had before, and it was soft and delicious. The tempura at this restaurant is all delicious! The "raw soy sauce udon" is slightly thin and has a smooth, chewy texture. And how do they bring out so much wheat flavor in it! You can even eat it smooth without raw soy sauce. The udon is free for a large serving... the cost performance is also great. (I was satisfied with a regular serving). The staff's service was good, and their attention to detail was evident. It's a reliable restaurant, and I would like to visit again in the future. Thank you for the meal.

I lined up at 11:30 am. I was the 8th person and waited for about 20 minutes, but I didn't mind because they took our orders in advance. Noodles come in a large portion for free! I ordered the A lunch with extra mushrooms on top, and it was quite filling. The noodles were very satisfying. The tempura, the mushroom was freshly fried and satisfying, but the chicken tempura, being at a discounted price, was just average.

I went for a work lunch! This is my favorite popular restaurant that I have visited four times in the past, but this is my first time writing on Tabelog. I arrived around 1pm and there were about 4 groups of customers ahead of me. I was able to enter shortly after. I usually go for the value lunch set, but today I splurged and ordered the shrimp tempura and vegetable udon. I had pre-ordered so it arrived in about 5 minutes after I sat down. The texture of the udon is outstanding compared to other restaurants. The dashi broth is delicious, with a slightly different sweetness than the udon I had in Takamatsu. The tempura had a delicate taste of the ingredients and felt healthy? (slightly different but) Personally, I think the udon alone might have tasted better? But it was so delicious that I ate it with gusto! When I told the owner on my way out that it was delicious, they smiled and thanked me, which left a strong impression. It made me feel good that they took the time to thank me amidst their busy schedule. It's a great restaurant where both parties can feel happy. I would love to go back again! Thank you for the meal ☻

It's a popular restaurant. Even though it's past 1 PM, there were still about 3 groups waiting in line. The popular meat on rice bowl was sold out. It's helpful that they have a sign with the sold-out items listed. The rice was chewy, the broth was delicious, and the shrimp tempura was plump and tasty.

Hello, this is the president. I visited your restaurant for lunch during a break from work. There was a wait of about 7 groups, but it didn't take too long. I had the cold meat on rice with tempura mushrooms on top, and I ordered the large size udon. The large size udon is free! The thin udon noodles have a firm texture and a smooth throat feel, making it easy to eat a lot. Throat feel is important this time of year! It was really delicious. Thank you for the meal!

It had been a while since my last visit. I waited in line for about 30 minutes before entering. I ordered the A set meal, which was the Chicken Tempura Rice Bowl (served cold). I don't remember what type of udon it was. The udon noodles were slightly thin, not chewy but rather soft. The dipping sauce was not sweet at all. The chicken bowl had thinly sliced breast meat that was easy to eat. It was also not sweet. Thank you for the meal.

After an endoscopy examination, feeling hungry, I decided to eat udon as recommended by the doctor and chose a delicious udon restaurant in Uehonmachi. I was so impressed and satisfied that I thanked the chef before leaving. I had the "Tamago Toji Udon," and I was blown away by the chewy, slightly thin noodles, as well as the deliciousness of the udon broth. The balance of umami flavor was outstanding! Definitely try it. The broth is made with kombu, urume, mackerel flakes, and bonito, creating an exquisite umami ensemble that made me finish all the broth. Another thing that impressed me was the tamago toji. The amazing broth is boiled, and then eggs are added, resulting in a deliciousness similar to a rolled omelet with a fluffy texture that is indescribably elegant in taste.

In Uemoto-cho, there is a udon restaurant that has been named one of the top 100 for 5 consecutive years. I arrived at 11:00 am on a weekday and the restaurant was almost full, with only about 3 seats available at the counter. I ordered the "tori-ten bukkake" cold udon for 1100 yen from the menu. The large size was free of charge. The udon noodles were smooth and had a good texture, being thin and firm. The dish came with 5 large pieces of crispy fried chicken tempura, which you pour broth over. When you add broth and lemon, it enhances the deliciousness of the noodles. The chicken tempura was made from breast meat and was juicy and tasty. I will definitely come back to try other menu items.

After leaving Kinukawa, I hesitated between going to a restaurant I had bookmarked in Senba or revisiting Ubara in Uehommachi, but eventually decided to go to Ubara. I stayed close by for my noodle adventure today. I walked through Karahori Shotengai to Uemachi-suji, then headed towards Uehommachi and finally arrived at Ubara. There were about 5 customers waiting in front of the shop due to the lunchtime rush. I wrote my name on the board and joined the line. After about 5 minutes (I didn't actually time it), I finally entered the shop. I ordered the large serving of Chikudama Tempura Bukkake with additional Toriten (chicken tempura) and Nasuten (eggplant tempura). By the way, here the large serving is free. After a short wait, the food was served. The broth was not poured over the noodles but served in a tokkuri. Compared to other places I've tried, the broth was surprisingly light in flavor. Despite being light, the umami of the broth was strong, so it didn't feel lacking, and the umami of the broth came through clearly. This type of broth is also good. However, I felt that the amount of broth was a bit low, so a bit more broth would be better. The udon noodles were firm and chewy, with a gummy-like elasticity. The surface of the noodles was smooth, and the texture was very good. The Chikuten (chicken tempura) was tightly packed and the umami spread as you chewed. The Toriten was tender and juicy, and really delicious. The Nasuten was also a standout. Eggplant really goes well with oil, doesn't it? If I remember correctly, it had been about 7-8 years since my last visit. It was delicious as always coming back after a long time! Next time, maybe I'll try the warm udon?

The inside of the store is small with about 11 counter seats and one 4-person table. It was a Monday, so the wait outside was about 15 minutes. They took our order while we were waiting, so our food arrived pretty quickly once we were seated. I ordered the cold vegetable tempura udon. The udon noodles were slightly thin and shiny. They were chewy and delicious!

I went a bit late, so I had to wait for 3 people ahead of me. The interior of the restaurant, with both counter and table seating, was a bit dim but calming. I ordered the A set meal which was a bowl of udon noodles with toppings. It felt like a good deal compared to other menu items. I also had chicken tempura rice bowl and the udon noodles. The noodles were chewy and had a nice texture. I left feeling full and satisfied with the udon noodles.

Chikudama Bukkake (large), Mini Chicken Tempura Rice Bowl Set 900 yen + 500 yen = 1,400 yen
Dipping the cold Tsuyu over the chilled noodles and slurping them in the scorching heat, the refreshing sensation in the throat feels great. Different from the firm Sanuki noodles, this dish is more universally appealing but less memorable. The tempura is freshly fried, the egg tempura is half-cooked without much distinctive flavor, and the chicken tempura is thinly sliced, fried, and soaked in sauce. Personally, I prefer chunkier tempura. Overall, it's a decent lineup of dishes. My stomach is full.

I had lunch at Udon Kobo Ubara, a popular udon restaurant located about a 5-minute walk from Osaka Uehommachi Station. This place has received a Michelin Bib Gourmand in the past, and the quality is always consistent. The tempura shrimp is large and satisfying, complementing the flavorful udon broth well. The udon noodles have a nice chewiness and are easy to eat with a satisfying thickness. Thank you for the meal!

Set meal - Chicken Tempura Donburi with Wakame Udon for 990 yen. The Chicken Tempura Donburi had a large piece of chicken tempura on top, making it very filling. The chicken tempura was delicious, more like fried chicken, but overall it was very tasty. The udon was also delicious, although there wasn't much wakame in the Wakame Udon as the name suggests.

One of the best udon restaurants in Osaka can be described as a gentle and feminine udon. It has a great firmness but is smooth and easy to eat. The lunch set is a great deal! #UdonUbata #OsakaUdon #LoveUdon #UeHommachiGourmet #UdonSmoothness #WantToConnectWithUdonLovers

On this day, I had some errands in Uehommachi, and decided to have lunch at "Udon Workshop Ubara". I arrived at the restaurant around 12:15 and there were about 10 people waiting outside. First, I wrote my name on a cardboard sign near the entrance, then lined up. While waiting in line, the staff came to take our orders, so it's recommended to check the menu posted on the wall beforehand. The turnover is quick, and we were seated inside within 10 minutes. I ordered the cold noodles with meat sauce. From being seated to being served, it took about 10 minutes. When I poured the broth over the noodles and tried it, it had a refreshing and delicious taste. The noodles were smooth and had a good texture, with a firm and thin thickness. I heard that you can get a free larger portion, but I opted for a regular size and it was still quite filling. Even with a regular size, I was satisfied, but with this delicious udon, I could probably finish a large portion easily. The sweet and flavorful beef that was marinated was also delicious, and mixing it with the raw egg was naturally tasty. Towards the end, squeezing lemon for a refreshing flavor change was nice, but I preferred to eat the udon as it is. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice, the staff were friendly, and it was a cozy place to dine. Thank you for the meal.

Visited around 11:00 on a holiday, when the store opened at 11:00. I lined up for the second round, writing my name at the entrance first. Inside, I could see the owner working alone, boiling udon, frying tempura, and plating dishes. By the time the first round of customers' orders came out, it was around 12:00. I had the Chikudama Tempura Bukkake Udon, large size. The udon was thin like Inaniwa udon, and the large size was free. The broth was good, the tempura was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

I was on my way to get curry, but it was too hot... So, I decided to go for cold udon instead, right? lol. That's why I ended up at Udon Koubou Ubara for the first time in a long time. I arrived a little after opening time, so I was able to get in easily. But then there was a bit of a line afterwards. Guess I was lucky. I went for the bukkake udon since they didn't have cold udon... ・Chiku-tama tempura bukkake 900 yen, large size for free ・Chicken tempura 250 yen The presentation was impressive. First of all, the noodles were delicious. They were thin and chewy, with a beautiful sheen and a nice texture. The light bukkake broth was so good, you could almost drink it. It was easy to eat even with a mouthful. I couldn't resist the chewy texture. The large chikuwa tempura and the beautiful tamago tempura were also great. The chikuwa tempura had a nice aroma and tasted delicious as it is. Personally, I think the tamago tempura was just for show lol. It's half-cooked, so I enjoyed making the white udon dirty with it! Surprisingly, the chicken tempura was amazing. It was light but juicy. The coating was crispy, and I really like this kind of chicken tempura. They also have chicken tempura rice bowls, so I'm curious about those too lol. Yeah, I'm full. The thin and chewy noodles were definitely a safe choice. I've been into raw soy sauce lately, so I'm looking forward to trying it with the chicken tempura next time. Thank you for the meal.

Hello, this is Mark. Isn't it extremely hot recently? I feel like I've reached my limit wearing a suit for sales. I went to Nara in the morning, came back to Osaka, visited clients, and now it's about time for lunch. When it comes to udon in Tsuruhashi and Uehommachi, Ubara-san is the best choice. The udon is delicious. There's usually a long line, but luckily today I was able to get in without waiting. I ordered bukkake udon with various toppings. The rhythm of the old man boiling the udon is like a dance, I like it. He works quickly and efficiently. I received my udon in less than 10 minutes. The chewiness and smoothness of the udon are top-notch. The tempura is also consistently high quality. There aren't many udon shops that can surpass this one. I'll definitely come back.

It was a great cost-effective restaurant! The thin noodles had a perfect chewiness and were delicious. The tempura was crispy and tasty. It's a simple but incredibly delicious udon. It's a popular place, so it might be good to go early in the morning.

I visited for lunch. Luckily, there was only one group ahead of me so I was seated right away. I had the C set meal with a mini tempura bowl for 1200 yen. I also ordered 2 pieces of chicken tempura for 250 yen. The chicken tempura was crispy but a bit thin. It might have been okay to skip it. The udon noodles were chewy and delicious. I think I preferred the seaweed udon from my previous visit. The mini tempura bowl was full of ingredients including shrimp, and it was quite tasty. Thank you for the meal.
