Italian restaurant inspired by the Blue Grotto♪ I visited USJ for the first time in almost 20 years♡ Here are some of the meals and snacks I had at Universal Studios Japan.
For lunch on the second day, we went to the Italian restaurant "Azure Di Capri" located in the central area of the park. This restaurant is inspired by the famous tourist spot in Italy, the Blue Grotto of Capri Island, and is known for its authentic pizzas baked one by one in a stone oven. The name "Azure Di Capri" in Italian means "Blue of Capri," I believe. The restaurant is located right in the center of the park, across from where we had lunch yesterday at "Mel's Drive-In." When we arrived around 11:20 am, there was a long line. As expected on the second day at USJ, we were already used to waiting in line (;^ω^) We were prepared for a 60-minute wait in the scorching sun, but we were pleasantly surprised to be told that they would contact us on our phone when the table was ready. I didn't know that reservations could be made in advance. We decided to take a break near the lagoon while waiting for our turn. After about an hour, we received a message on our phone and headed to the restaurant. The menu for the day only offered set menus where you could choose between pasta or pizza. The course included 1) appetizer 2) pasta (3 types) or pizza (3 types) 3) dessert (2 types) for a price of 2,700 yen. Drinks were not included (ranging from 420 yen to 500 yen). Since the dishes were shareable, our family of three ordered Uni and shrimp cream sauce pasta, salmon and tuna Genovese pasta, and Tre Gamberetti pizza. For dessert, we had tiramisu. The restaurant interior, inspired by the Blue Grotto, exudes a resort-like atmosphere from overseas with its beautiful blue and white contrast. There are also terrace seats available, so on a sunny day, you can relax there as well. While waiting and sipping on our drinks, the appetizer arrived in about 10 minutes. Then, the pizza and pasta followed. The pizza was decent, and the pasta was okay. Well, considering that these are dishes eaten at an amusement park, we didn't have high expectations. The pizza was good though, the pizza was (;´∀`) The tiramisu was also delicious. The staff's hospitality was excellent. The price of 2,700 yen is a bit on the higher side, but for a table service type restaurant within the park, it's probably standard. There are only four restaurants in the park where you can make reservations in advance, including this one. If we had to wait in the sun, the taste might have been a bit disappointing, but since we were able to make a reservation, it was just within our tolerance level (^^;;. As we left the restaurant, it was the opening time for the "NO LIMIT! Parade." It was a festival of characters from Hello Kitty, Snoopy, Minions, Sesame Street, Sing, Yoshi & Mario Kart, Pokemon, and more. Watching the parade was enjoyable♪ Enjoying pizza and pasta leisurely at USJ. It was delicious♪ Thank you for the meal. (Visited on June 17, 2023) (Posted on August 6, 2023)
