There were many kushikatsu restaurants in the new world, but I decided to try the one featured in "maple" as a popular spot for photos. I sat by the street side, which was a bit hot. The ordering system was through QR codes, and the dishes like quail, mochi, and shishamo were served quickly. The kushikatsu and doteyaki were delicious as well.

The atmosphere is lively, the taste of the kushikatsu is good, and it is easy to eat with a crispy texture. You can dip it in sauce multiple times, so we shared the sauce with our family. The floor is slippery with oil, and the children almost slipped.

I am a traveler from outside the prefecture. The order was taken and served very quickly, and the frying technique was excellent, making the food very delicious. However, there were a few points of dissatisfaction. While sitting at the counter and watching closely, I noticed that the person frying the food seemed to be a foreign part-time worker, while the Japanese staff members were chatting the whole time. From what I saw, over 80% of the staff were foreigners. It may be divided labor, but it would be considerate to do some prep work while frying alone. The shiitake mushrooms were left half-prepped for over 10 minutes. Also, throwing away the whole shiitake stem is such a waste. It was a very impressive mushroom and would make a great snack with drinks. If they are that size, customers wouldn't mind paying extra. I reluctantly understood that jobs are being taken by foreigners more and more. Therefore, I have given a rating of 2 stars. As I mentioned at the beginning, the frying was really good and delicious. I would give a rating of 4.5 stars to the foreign part-time worker.

You can feel the Osaka vibe at this kushikatsu restaurant. There is a similar restaurant across the street, and many customers are hopping from one place to another to enjoy kushikatsu. The turnover is fast, as it is common to visit multiple places in one night. They serve small appetizers, including takoyaki, in addition to fried skewers. The menu is diverse and you can order using a QR code on your smartphone, which is quite innovative. I had the impression that this old-fashioned neighborhood wouldn't have such advanced technology. You can also individually dip your skewers in sauce, which adds to the Osaka experience.

I visited a popular kushikatsu restaurant recommended by a friend. It is located a short walk from the zoo. We arrived around 6 pm and the restaurant was almost full. It was easy to order using a smartphone. The kushikatsu arrived fairly quickly and was delicious. They had quite a variety of unique options. I asked for water but they never brought it... aside from that, I was satisfied with the experience!

Good evening.. Continuing from the previous day, we stayed at a hotel and drank at the New Hankyu ANA Lounge → relaxed at the Spa World in Shin-Imamiya with hot springs from around the world → indulged in a meat feast at a popular yakiniku restaurant in a deep city → Now, onto the second place today.. We were ready to call it a night, but I convinced my tired companion Kyu-chan to go to an open restaurant.. In the heart of Shinsekai, a flashy restaurant stands out.. Japan's No. 1 kushikatsu restaurant, Yokozuna.. We were already full from the yakiniku earlier, but I'm okay with drinking anywhere (I love alcohol).. We ordered some light dishes and found a regular izakaya that we could quickly leave from.. We were actually looking for a different izakaya, but this was the only one open at the time.. It was already late, around 9:45 PM, and there were quite a few people waiting.. We were told we could get in without waiting since there were only two of us, so we entered.. It was so crowded! I was surprised.. It was bustling before 10 PM! A few years ago, on New Year's Day, I went to a restaurant of the same chain in Umeda and it was so-so.. Well, it's a chain restaurant, and it's a different place, so it's a different story from a few years ago.. Highball and shochu on the rocks were flowing.. One cup of sake for 495 yen, Tris Highball for 429 yen, and two servings of otoshi for 660 yen.. There was a dish with grated daikon and minced meat sauce.. I didn't know about that.. I thought it was more of an izakaya with kushikatsu, but it turns out they are known for their large portions.. The other dishes were amazing too, but the takoyaki was probably even more calorie-packed.. We weren't hungry, so we ordered a la carte, but there's an all-you-can-eat and all-you-can-drink option available with same-day reservations, which is cheaper.. However, you have to reserve by 5 PM on the same day.. My side dish was ikayaki for 418 yen.. Kyu-chan had renkon for 198 yen.. I forgot the rest (*´Д`*) We were already full, but I had one piece.. Kyu-chan felt a bit hungry again, so we ordered more.. Quail for 132 yen, shrimp for 308 yen.. Also, mochi for 132 yen.. Thank you for the meal.. The kushikatsu was delicious, but as mentioned above, ordering a la carte and having a few drinks added up to a considerable amount.. Although we had about 3 drinks each.. It was around 6000 yen for two people.. Also, the hygiene of the restroom was a bit lacking.. The restaurant was quite large, so I understand that it gets a lot of use.. It was almost full, but the staff were walking briskly between tables, taking orders, and serving quickly! They were efficient and that's great (*´∀`*)

When visiting Osaka, you can't miss trying kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers), and one of the famous spots in Shinsekai is "Yokozuna". I visited Yokozuna during my trip to Osaka, craving for kushikatsu. The first thing that caught my attention was the long business hours, open until morning, and the lively atmosphere with a bustling crowd filling the spacious restaurant. The menu was also impressive, offering not only kushikatsu but also large-sized drinks, various Western dishes, and appetizers, catering to a wide range of preferences. I had a great dining experience and would love to visit again.

I visited this restaurant without any prior research while sightseeing, and I was pleasantly surprised by the lively atmosphere. I ordered 10 pieces of kushikatsu, fried takoyaki, plum wine soda, and lemon and kyoho grape sour, which came to around 2500 yen. The kushikatsu was juicy and delicious, with options to order individual skewers instead of a set. They also had a variety of large portion menu items in the showcase, which I would like to try with a group next time.

When you come to Osaka, you have to try kushikatsu! So I went to Tsutenkaku and explored some new restaurants. I wanted to try the jumbo shrimp, but unfortunately it was sold out. I want to come back for it! The pickled ginger was also large and the taste was satisfying! Thank you for the meal!

In the new world, we went to a restaurant for kushikatsu after enjoying the Tennoji Zoo. The restaurant was easy to find in Shinsekai. We had a variety of kushikatsu such as beef, garlic, eggplant, and mochi. Even though we weren't very hungry when we went, once the food arrived, we couldn't stop eating. The kushikatsu was delicious and the menu with large portions seemed to offer good value for money. It was a rare opportunity for us to eat kushikatsu, so it was fresh and tasty!

I actually wanted to go to a different restaurant with a skewer ladder, but it was full and I had no other place to go, so I ended up at this restaurant that caught my eye... The doteyaki was well stewed and delicious, but the presentation was completely different from the menu photo and the skewers, despite being touted as the best in Japan, were not that great... I lost interest in taking photos halfway through... The skewers were too fatty and didn't appeal to me, the roast beef wasn't to my liking, and I didn't even feel like picking up the tonpeiyaki... Well, it might be the typical taste of a chain restaurant, but I wish they would put in a little more effort... The restaurant was spacious and a good place to pass the time, though.

I went to Osaka with my child and mother for the first time in a while. Although I am originally from Osaka, I don't go there often and tend to visit Kyoto more frequently. The scenery of Osaka's Shinsekai caught my child's interest. Unfortunately, we couldn't visit Tsutenkaku Tower as there was a 65-minute wait, and we didn't have enough time before catching the bullet train. Popular restaurants like Yaekatsu, Tengu, and Daruma had long lines due to the Obon holiday, so we ended up going to a less crowded place. We were seated on the 3rd floor since the 1st floor was full. We started with a toast with beer, which was perfect in the intense heat. It had been over a year since I last drank during the day. We ordered shrimp, potatoes, garlic, salmon, beef cutlet, octopus, and pickled ginger. Of course, double-dipping in the sauce was not allowed, as stated in all the shops. The dishes arrived one by one, all crispy and delicious, especially the garlic and shrimp. The octopus was slightly shriveled, but the pickled ginger was a nice touch with its saltiness and slightly sweet sauce. My child also wanted sushi, so we ordered salmon and tuna. Each order came with 2 pieces. The colorful samples of dishes in the restaurant window were impressive. It reminded me of the flashy image of restaurants from my childhood. My child enjoyed the experience, so I'm thinking of wandering around Osaka again at the end of the year.

I visited this restaurant for their sumo wrestler-sized chicken karaage platter. I arrived around 12:30 on a Sunday and was seated promptly as the restaurant was spacious with a second floor as well. I ordered the karaage (enough for 10 people) without hesitation. While waiting for my order, I also ordered a salad and a side dish. The side dish arrived quickly, but I had to wait quite a while for the karaage...about 30 minutes. When it finally arrived, it was served in a large bowl with a mountain of karaage. However, upon closer inspection, there were shrimp chips underneath the karaage, making it look like more than it actually was. There were only 30 pieces of karaage, which was fewer than I expected. The taste was not too strong, more on the lighter side. The frying oil seemed fresh, with no greasy smell, and the karaage was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, very delicious. I finished it quickly due to the smaller portion size and the quality of the frying oil. They also had other sumo wrestler-sized dishes like steak, omurice, and a bucket-sized pudding that caught my eye. I might try the steak next time. Thank you for the meal!

I stayed at Shin-Imamiya on this day, so I checked in late and went to Yokozuna, which is open 24 hours! It was a weekend, so even past midnight, the place was bustling. First, I quenched my thirst with a draft beer!! I ordered various skewers such as asparagus, quail eggs, beef skewers, onions, and ham cutlets!! Of course, the draft beer went down smoothly. It took a while for the food to be served because it was crowded, but that's understandable. We ended up drinking until late, then returned to the hotel. Thank you for the meal!!

When it comes to images of Shinsekai, the iconic landmarks include Tsutenkaku in front, Zuboraya's blowfish sign on the left, and a cut of Kushikatsu Yotaro on the right. The famous kushikatsu restaurant seen in that iconic photo is here. We skipped breakfast at the hotel and made our way from Dobutsuen-mae subway station through Jan Jan Yokocho. We started with doteyaki and beer. The dish consisted of beef skewers, onions, shiitake mushrooms, and pickled ginger. The batter wasn't fully coated, but that added to the charm. The sweet white miso in the doteyaki was delightful. We moved on to the second round with a Yokocho Highball. We added takowasa for the third round. We were lucky to get seats at the counter on the first floor as we arrived early, allowing us to soak in the atmosphere of Shinsekai. However, within an hour, the place was packed up to the third floor. If you visit Shinsekai, be sure to experience sitting at the counter on the first floor.

Japan delicious food tour. June 2017. No.614. Number of reviews 689. I visited Shinsekai after a long time. It really gives off that Osaka vibe. It used to be a bit chaotic, but now it's become a popular tourist spot. I was wondering where to eat, but I decided to eat here. The specialty of Osaka's Shinsekai is "kushikatsu" - dipping the sauce twice is not allowed. Not only kushikatsu, but you can also enjoy various menus such as sashimi and sushi. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I used this restaurant during a trip to Osaka with friends. We were seated in a large room on the second floor. The skewers were brought to us in groups of about five each. They were tasty and crispy, with the sauce coating them well. The sauce was also delicious. However, I think I may have been influenced by the Osaka atmosphere, as Osaka skewers tend to taste better when eaten there. Overall, the skewers were decent, but they might not be as good if eaten in Tokyo. Just like how a cold Budweiser tastes great in Okinawa, our brains can be easily influenced by the ambiance and preconceptions.

Kushikatsu, pork belly, pickled ginger, cheese, shiso roll, hormone, quail egg, shumai, garlic, doteyaki, lemon chu-hi for 1760 yen. It is a tradition at Tsutenkaku to start the day with kushikatsu and a drink. The red one is the Osaka specialty kushikatsu with pickled ginger. Restaurants that only serve kushikatsu are traditional, while those that also serve kutsukatsu are for tourists. Due to pressure from various directions, I have minimized the draft since June 2019, and images have been minimized since January 2020. Please refer to the corresponding Google Maps for images. Visited for breakfast in late March 2009.
