Honey can have completely different flavors and tastes depending on the type of bees and flowers. French sunflower honey is quite easy to eat. When you want something a little different from domestic acacia honey, it's a good choice. However, it would be nice if it were cheaper... It's not easy to try it casually.

I visited Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine after a long time and found Sugi Bee Farm during my stroll. I ordered a soft-serve ice cream made with luxurious honey. It cost 830 yen, a bit pricey, but definitely worth trying. It's a masterpiece for honey lovers.

I heard that the honey soft serve ice cream at Sugi Bee Farm is delicious, but surprisingly they also sell "Ikinaari Dango". Ikinaari Dango is a specialty of Kumamoto, made by steaming sweet potatoes with red bean paste inside a dumpling. It was a bit unexpected, so I decided to try it. The sweetness of the sweet potato was slightly lacking, but it was covered by the sweetness of the red bean paste. It was slightly smaller than the ones you would buy in Kumamoto.

When I visited Sugiyama Bee Farm in Dazaifu, I stopped by for some ice cream on a hot day. The cold soft serve was topped with plenty of honey, making it sweet and delicious. I finished it in no time. They also have options with berries and other toppings, so I would like to try something different next time. Thank you for the treat.

After finishing seeing Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, feeling hot and thirsty, I was debating between getting soft serve ice cream or shaved ice when I stumbled upon Float. I decided to try the Yuzu Honey Float for 540 yen. It was refreshing to quench my thirst with Yuzu Honey Juice and enjoy the ice cream. It was delicious and satisfying.

During the Tanabata Festival, I visited Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. I'm not sure if I believe in Japanese gods, but there were many foreign tourists here too. It was a very hot day, so I had some honey juice from a honey shop. Delicious! Refreshing! I wish I had bought some honey to take home.

The honey soft serve ice cream I had while sightseeing in Dazaifu was amazing! It had two honeycombs in it and was only 800 yen, so it was very reasonable. There were many honey-related items in the souvenir shop, and I could easily sample them too!

It was hot, so I came here looking for something cold, but since this is a honey shop, everything is honey-based, right? Honey is not suitable when you're thirsty, apparently.笑

After arriving in Beppu by ferry, I stopped by various places and ended up at Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. Tonight's accommodation is in Fukuoka City, and the weather is very nice and hot, so I felt like having something cold. I tried a honey drink float, where I had to decide whether to wait for the soft drink to melt or for the ice inside to melt. I took my time enjoying it. It was delicious. It wasn't soft serve ice cream, but it was my first soft serve of the year, enjoyed not at a service area but on the approach to Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine.

I found a honey shop called "Sugi Bee Farm" on the approach to the shrine. The honey drink I tried at the shop was delicious. They sell plain honey as well as honey with fruit juice and even shampoo. I bought yuzu honey, which I can mix with water to make the drink I tried. They also had green juice for tasting, which was easy to drink, so I bought it too. My daughter bought blueberry and acerola honey to enjoy with yogurt and bread.

Today, I visited Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. I took a bus from Hakata. The bus was crowded with tourists from overseas, students taking exams, and people enjoying the plum season. Some customers couldn't get on the bus and had to wait for the next one. I took a break at "Sugi Bee Farm" on the approach to the shrine. Although it's known for its soft-serve ice cream, I decided to try a honey drink at the counter. They had various honey drinks like blueberry, acerola, kyoho grape, yuzu, mango, ginger, and kinkan. I chose the plum drink, which brought back nostalgic memories. It reminded me of a juice called "Tobiume" that used to be sold by Kirin. Solo Trip in Fukuoka I finally made my long-awaited 2-night, 3-day trip to Fukuoka Prefecture. So, let's talk about the third meal of the trip - soft serve ice cream (is it considered a meal? Oh well, close enough, haha). After visiting Dazaifu, on the way back, I stopped by this honey shop. The shop offers honey soft serve ice cream, which sounded very appealing! You can also enjoy it inside the shop, so I decided to take a break and try it out. I chose the Honey Soft Serve with Yuzu Honey for 320 yen. It comes in a cup, with yuzu honey syrup drizzled over the soft serve. For 320 yen, the portion of this soft serve ice cream is quite generous! The sweet honey soft serve paired with the refreshing yuzu honey syrup is a delight for yuzu lovers. The syrup is nice, but the honey soft serve is delicious! Even though I only ordered one soft serve, the staff were friendly, offering me water and showing great hospitality. After a tiring walk, I recommend stopping by here to enjoy a soft serve ice cream!

[2013.12.20] The soft serve ice cream from a beekeeper in Aso is now available everywhere. I often stop by the shop in Kurokawa Onsen, but this was my first visit here. It was about 20 years ago when I traveled to New Zealand. Back then, there was already soft serve ice cream with honey in it, and it was very delicious, so I had been hoping to find it in Japan. Fortunately, I have been seeing it in many places recently.

Further down the road, there is a honey shop called "Honey Soft" - what a charming name! You can't leave without trying their honey soft serve. Inside the shop, you can sample a yuzu honey drink. The fragrance of yuzu and the sweetness of honey make for a delicious and refreshing taste. I decided to switch from honey soft serve to yuzu honey soft serve. They put the honey soft serve in a cup and pour yuzu honey on top. The sweetness of the cream and the flavor of yuzu blend beautifully in your mouth. The shop specializes in honey, with various types and processed products on display. Perfect for cooling down after visiting Dazaifu in the hot season.

It was hot in August in Kyushu Hakata. My wife had never been to Dazaifu, so we went there to pray. It was another day with temperatures close to 35 degrees, and just walking made us sweat a lot. There was a sudden rain shower, making the heat feel even more intense. I said, "I can't take it anymore, let's go somewhere inside," and my wife suggested, "Let's go in, let's go in, let's have some ice cream." We found an ice cream shop with a sign a little down from the entrance of Dazaifu, and although there were no customers on a weekday, there were high-priced honey jars displayed. We drank some cold water and felt refreshed. My wife said, "What are you talking about, you're not dead," and we decided to have ice cream - I chose a cone, and my wife chose a cup. After eating the ice cream, the brain freeze hit. It's not a pleasant experience, but maybe that's just a sign of how cold the ice cream was. With the temperature at almost 35°C, the ice cream gradually melted away. Let's eat it quickly!

Our friends from Taiwan visited, so we went to Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine in the morning. The priest kindly invited us to the main hall and we enjoyed some Ume-gaeshi mochi. We were surprised to find that the Ume-gaeshi mochi was two layers, with red bean paste not only inside the mochi but also between the two mochi layers, like a Ume-gaeshi mochi hamburger. After sightseeing, as we walked along the approach, the members found an ice cream shop and bought some ice cream despite it being almost lunchtime. They seemed to enjoy the ice cream, ignoring my comment about it being too early for dessert. I wonder how their stomachs are made!

It was very hot on the way from the station to Dazaifu, so my child begged for soft serve ice cream and a drink. There was a unique Starbucks nearby, so we planned to stop by on the way back. I had honey soft serve ice cream and an acerola honey drink. The soft serve ice cream had a rich honey flavor and was very delicious. The acerola drink was a bit sweeter and less acidic than I expected, probably because it was honey-based. I always end up buying honey products from beekeeping shops in tourist areas for some reason...
