This bakery here is a must-stop for me when I take my kids to the neighboring eye clinic, and it has been for 10 years now! I was drawn to it by the cool name, "Nagai Shoten," for a bakery, and the kingfisher logo. The first time I stopped by was when my kids were still small and we were on our way back from the eye clinic. Since then, the main lineup has stayed pretty much the same. New items keep getting added, but my favorites are the custard coronet and the marble series (rich dough with cream swirled in a marble pattern, available in various flavors like chocolate, cream, and seasonal ones like sweet potato or orange). There are all kinds of bread lined up in the display case, and I always find myself happily pondering over them. And the prices are reasonable too, like the curry donut which is only 130 yen (though it's a bit small). The mini croissants sold by weight in the display case are reminiscent of a certain famous chain, and it turns out the owner used to work there! The bread here is just as delicious, if not more so! The wife, who may seem a bit unfriendly at first glance, is actually quite mischievous and funny. Take a chance and strike up a conversation with her!

This time it's about bread. Introducing "Panya Nagai Shoten" in Hirakata City, Osaka Prefecture. I visited this place when it was still cold. It's been a while, but I'd like to introduce it. This shop is located in a quiet residential area and looks promising. I bought a simple one this time, but it seems like they mainly have soft bread. They were all delicious, but the rusk in the front of the photo was really good! It tasted like garlic toast turned into rusk, with a crispy yet light texture that was amazing. I couldn't stop eating it. It goes well with meals, snacks, and drinks. I definitely want to eat it again.

When I went to the supermarket across the street after a long time, I noticed that it had become a bakery! It used to be a cake shop called "Heide" in the past. I couldn't buy anything before due to holidays and such, but today I was able to make a purchase. When I entered the store, I could see the cash register counter and kitchen on the left. Hmm, there's no one in the store... I peeked in and saw the store owner sitting on the floor, reading a newspaper. Sitting on the floor like that... a part-time employee would never do that. Maybe because it's her own store, but if she's just sitting there with a "I'm bored" vibe and no smile, the god of fortune won't come. She should do more advertising... there must be a lot of people who don't know about this store. They don't have many hard bread varieties. The selection feels a bit lacking... in the end, I only bought two mini-sized breads for a taste test. I tried the "Black Sugar Raisin" bread. I'm really sorry to the bakery, but this bread got really flat. Like a senbei... I took a chance and microwaved it, and it puffed up a bit, so I managed to take a picture. This bread is delicious - fluffy, gentle sweetness, and juicy raisins! It feels like it's made with great care. Next, I tried the "Petit Amande" bread. I thought it would be light and crispy, but it was unexpectedly hard... the almond flavor aside, I wish it had a bit more sweetness. The difference was a bit disappointing after how delicious the Black Sugar Raisin bread was. It's a good bakery that is closely connected to the community, so I hope everyone will stop by!

I finally got to visit the bakery that opened where Hyde used to be. I was curious about it for a while. Among the various types of bread, I bought a cream coronet, black sugar walnut, and curry donut. The cream coronet is filled with plenty of custard cream all the way to the tip. This custard is not too sweet and not too heavy, it's delicious. The bread is very light. With this cream, I feel like it would be good with a bread that has a bit more substance. I definitely want to eat this cream coronet again. The black sugar walnut and curry donut are pretty standard. All the bread is light and easy to eat. I want to go back to buy the cream coronet again.

Quietly nestled in the residential area of Higashi-Kari, there is a bakery with Gourmet City Higashi-Kari store as its landmark. They offer familiar pastries like anpan and melon pan, with a special mention for their anpan which has both smooth and coarse textures. They also have three types of bread: square loaf, sprouted grain square loaf, and hard toast. The square loaf has changed over time, with a softer and more delicate texture now compared to before. The cream cornet is praised for its custard filling that is rich and sweet. The baguette and boulangerie breads have a slightly salty taste and are a bit firm. This bakery, Nagaishop, is unique in that they clearly label the ingredients of their bagged bread. They mainly focus on pastry bread, with fewer options for hard bread compared to other bakeries in the area. Their prices are much cheaper than Miyata and Biel, making it a great choice for pastry bread lovers. The friendly cashier is also a plus point that makes customers want to come back.
