After eating Omurice at "Yuiga Dokuson" in Furano City, I decided to stop by "Tonari no Dokuson" located on the left. They sell bread and smoked products, but since I had delicious sausages and bacon at the neighboring place, I visited for the bread. I bought the "Original Furano Anpan" for 180 yen and the "Butter Top" for 400 yen. The Anpan uses fermented butter and the filling is delicious, but the dough was a bit hard, making it difficult to eat as an Anpan. The Butter Top had a buttery aroma and was slightly sweet, tasting better when toasted.

I left the "唯我独尊" restaurant and stopped by here. It's like "The Next Arrogant"! It seems like "唯我独尊" was about to close, and this place is where the staff eat their meals? It was a bit empty when I peeked in, so I hesitated to enter. They had curry retort pouches, jam, and even bread displayed. It was different from what I expected, but I'm glad I stopped by. That's how it was~^ - ^

The bakery shop located next to the restaurant "唯我独尊" in Furano City, which has been selected as one of the top 100 curry shops in 2019 and 2020, is now run by the same owners. I visited this bakery for the first time after being curious about it when I went to eat curry before. The friendly staff welcomed me as it was my first visit. Unsure of what to choose, I asked for recommendations and ended up purchasing three items. First, I chose the most popular item, the "Original Furano Anpan" (180 yen each, tax included), which has been made for 28 years. It is a hard-type anpan made with Furano wheat, giving it a solid texture and satisfying bite. The filling, which is relatively low in sweetness, is generously packed inside, with fermented butter in the center. The combination of the rich filling and the flavorful fermented butter is excellent, explaining its long-standing popularity. The "Curry Bread" (180 yen) caught my eye, as it contains the curry from 唯我独尊. The curry inside does not contain meat but is filled with plenty of soybeans and vegetables. The curry is quite spicy, giving a true taste of a curry shop-made curry bread. Lastly, I bought the "Sweet Potato Bread" (290 yen), recommended by the staff. They mentioned that it contains around 15-16 sweet potatoes inside, and they were right. Although only one sweet potato is visible on top, the inside is filled with numerous sweet potatoes. I could taste the rich flavor of the sweet potatoes. Despite not being decorated with fancy ingredients, the hard-type bread from this bakery has a simple and delicious taste.

I tried the homemade spare rib bacon for 600 yen at a shop where you can buy original products such as homemade smoked goods and seasonings next to the shop that serves "Yui Ga Dokuson" freshly baked bread. I went in looking for bread but they only had one type for 500 yen... Is this a reasonable price? I don't eat bread usually so I'm not sure. Oh, they have "Yui Ga Dokuson" bacon! It's my favorite! I wonder if it's the same as the shop's. Let's buy it and try cooking it simply. Ah, this is it! The bacon has a meaty texture and the flavor intensifies as you chew, like jerky? It has a slightly strong salty taste which goes well with alcohol. Thank you for the meal.

I had curry with a sense of self-importance, and after that, I was approached with a friendly "Please try the neighboring place!" so I decided to check it out. They had freshly baked bread, jams, beer, self-important retort curry, original goods, craft beer, and more to choose from. I carefully selected three items to purchase: "Furano red bean bread," which had plenty of red bean paste and chunks of butter on a hard bread, providing a satisfying eating experience. "Furano Jibaku beer (Pilsner)," which had a slightly strong taste for me, with a bitter edge making it a more adult beer. And "Self-Important Retort Curry Potato," which I heated up in a hot water bath and ate, but you can also microwave it. It had curry inside hollowed-out potatoes, but the ratio of curry to potato was off, and it felt like I was mostly eating potatoes. The taste was a bit lacking. Thank you to the neighboring place for the meal!

When it comes to famous curry restaurants in Furano, it has to be "Yuigadokuson." Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. Next to Yuigadokuson, there is another shop called "Tonari no Dokuson." When you enter the shop, you will see various items for sale. I wonder what kind of shop this is? There are rows of bread, and I spotted curry bread made with Dokuson's curry. I couldn't resist buying it. It's not fried like curry bread, which is great. When you split the bread open, you can see the curry inside. It's filled with Dokuson's curry, so it's a very delicious curry bread. I like that it's convenient.

After enjoying a satisfying curry meal at "唯我独尊," I hopped into my car and noticed a store in the rearview mirror. Curious, I decided to check it out and found a shop called "となりの独尊" that specializes in sausages and other items. As a fan of bread, I purchased a few items as souvenirs, including "Andoumi," "Cheese Bread," "Haskap Pie," and "Furano Anpan." Among them, the "Andoumi" and "Cheese Bread" stood out as particularly delicious. These breads are filled with plenty of red bean paste and cheese, with a tunnel-like hollow inside. They are slightly smaller than regular loaves of bread and have a distinctive elasticity and chewiness that reminded me of Hokkaido-style bread. The flavors of the fillings were also excellent. "Haskap Pie" and "Furano Anpan" were enjoyed by my daughter. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience.

The shop also sold Sambal, so I decided to take a look. It was small but neatly organized, with the unique brand's products displayed at appropriate intervals. The homemade sausages from Yui Gokuzon are a must-have here! Four sausages for 1,080 yen is a great deal. Adding one more sausage costs 310 yen. Looking at the ingredients, they also try to avoid artificial additives, which is very commendable. They use nitric acid in moderation, although it would be perfect without any artificial additives. The staff recommended boiling the sausages in water instead of sautéing them for the best taste. The sausages used in the sausage curry served at the shop are also boiled. They prepare a considerable amount each day, and they sell out quickly at the main store. I also purchased the Yui Gokuzon Sambal (Yui Gokuzon's original blend of deliciously spicy seasoning). It was also a great deal at 540 yen. When you taste it, you'll realize that this seasoning has been meticulously crafted. And all this at this price, without using any MSG, preservatives, coloring agents, or other scientific additives. The main ingredient is only onions, but various spices are blended to create a mysterious and oriental aroma that is addictive. I had a pleasant time chatting with the staff. They also shared some interesting tidbits, such as the best way to enjoy the curry here, which is by getting multiple refills of the curry sauce. By the way, in my opinion, getting five refills is the best. The correct answer is something you must find out by coming to this shop and talking directly with the staff. Yui Gokuzon is very generous in offering multiple refills of curry sauce, a service that has remained unchanged from the past to the present, started by the master for travelers without much money. However, there is a rule for this service at Yui Gokuzon: you must go to the kitchen counter yourself and say "Rule Rule" to the staff. Do you know the origin of "Rule Rule"? This is Furano, and if you think of the northern country, then fireflies... Well, don't be shy, go ahead and try it out!

On a certain holiday, I stretched my legs and came to Furano after a long time. I found a bakery next to a famous curry restaurant. After having lunch at the curry restaurant, I couldn't overlook the bakery with a similar name next door and decided to visit. There is parking space in front of the store for a few cars. Inside the store, I found out that they not only sell bread but also delicious local products such as sausages and bacon. From the menu on that day, I chose the "Sweet Potato Bread 1/2 (230 yen)" after thinking for a while. It is a bread that is about two sizes smaller than a regular bread but surprisingly heavy. It is filled with a generous amount of sweet potatoes, almost like a cave inside. The bread itself is a bit firm with a unique flavor, and the large sweet potatoes are distinctive. I would like to try the specialty sausages and bacon next time. Thank you for the meal.

After enjoying the delicious omurice at the "Only Me" restaurant, I went shopping at the neighboring "Dokuson" where you can buy the homemade sausages and bacon that were on the omurice. The owner of this shop also makes his own beer and bread, and I heard he is a city council member. I decided to buy some sausages and bread as souvenirs for the host family in Otaru. The next day, we grilled the sausages, and they were incredibly delicious with a smoky flavor. Even though they were frozen, they were still very tasty. The bread was a hard type, and my father-in-law said it was the best bread he had ever eaten. It was fluffy, chewy, crispy, and it was amazing when toasted. Hokkaido's wheat flour is delicious, so the bread is also delicious, right?

I entered the store without knowing what kind of shop it was. Is it a bakery? I want to buy something, but I already baked a lot at home today. What else do they have? There was a sample of smoked salami in the fridge. The miso-cured ham salami had a deep flavor with a nice kick of spices, unlike the salty salami you find in stores. I usually don't like salami, but I definitely want to eat this one. My husband, who loves salami, bought it without hesitation. The miso-cured ham was also delicious and hard to resist. The bacon must be delicious too. At the register, I saw a jar filled with small red fruits. They were tiny for plums. I asked the foreign staff what they were, and they said they were dried tomatoes soaked in rum! I've never heard of that before, it's their original creation! Seeing things like this makes me realize that they are really homemade. I also bought a pound cake with dried tomato rum for 300 yen for 2 slices. It was a pleasant surprise. The rum flavor was strong and addictive. If they didn't tell me it was tomato, I wouldn't have known, but it was delicious. I will definitely go back to buy more. The staff, who were fluent in Japanese, were also interesting. I have to go try their unique curry next time.
