The appetizers included 8 different items such as prosciutto, pate, and quiche. It was a hearty meat-based selection. Wine would have been a nice addition! For the main course, you could choose from 3 types of pasta and 1 type of risotto, with 2 types of bread included. My companion chose a tomato-based pasta, so I went with the squid and komatsuna oil pasta. Overall, the flavors were a bit lacking in salt, and the squid didn't have much taste. Perhaps the quality of the squid was just average due to the reasonable price? The dessert consisted of panna cotta, blueberry tart, strawberry sherbet, and plenty of persimmons. It also came with coffee. It was a good deal, but this time it was a bit disappointing. I would like to give it another try in the future.

The pasta dishes were light, so if you prefer a more simmered tomato sauce, you may be a bit disappointed. The cream sauce had accents of black pepper and cheese, and the beef shin was tender and tasty. For dessert, there was ice cream, mousse, and cake, with coffee included. All of this for 1370 yen is a great deal! It seems you can also take the appetizer platter home.

Inside the restaurant, there are a few tables near the entrance and counter seats in the back. The straightforward chef runs the place alone. There is a chalkboard with quite an appealing menu. After some hesitation, I ordered some dishes. To start, I had an assorted appetizer plate with prosciutto, omelette, spinach, chicken liver pate canapé, chicken breast and mushrooms, and marinated squid and octopus. There was also crispy focaccia with cheese on top, including blue cheese and camembert. It made me crave red wine. I forgot to take a photo, but I also had tripe and other offal simmered in a spicy gratin, which really whet my appetite. I felt like adding some baguette. For the main course, I had juicy lamb with a parsley and garlic sauce that paired well together. To finish, I had a risotto served in a parmesan cheese bowl, with plenty of cheese and risotto for a satisfying meal. I also enjoyed non-alcoholic wine, two glasses of spumante, and glasses of Chardonnay and Merlot from Tuscany, all for less than 13,000 yen. The variety of glass wines was impressive and all tasted delicious. In the Italian cuisine-barren city of Sakai, this restaurant is truly a gem. I will definitely visit again.
