I bought some ice cream at the Kyot Isetan event where they were showcasing products from Kyushu. It was really hot there so I couldn't resist. It cost 770 yen for a double scoop, which is not cheap. I chose milk and orange flavors. The orange was intense but refreshing, perfect for summer. I wish it was a bit cheaper, maybe around 600 yen.

On rainy days, they don't do any special deals. From left to right in the photo: Dekopon, Blood Orange, Sesame, Amaou (+100 yen). The regular price of 500 yen seems reasonable for a tourist area. It's just delicious, not more, not less.

What has changed the most in the 12 and a half years since I last visited? Definitely the opening of the Kyushu Shinkansen at Hakata Station, along with the adjacent integrated commercial facility, "Ariana." I decided to take a leisurely stroll around the transformed station area on a sunny weekend. There were various local and nearby prefecture's products being sold at a direct sales event in the square, and I looked around in amazement. Gelato was being sold from a food truck, and it was the perfect treat on such a summer-like day! The visitors had come from Itoshima, known for its shining sea and nature. Although it was April, enjoying gelato on such a hot day felt amazing! I had visited a oyster shack in Itoshima 12 and a half years ago, so I had associated it with seafood, but it seems like Itoshima is also a treasure trove of fruits. The menu was full of delicious options, and the produce mainly came from Itoshima, as expected. I am also interested in trying Yame's tea. Amakusa is a famous strawberry in Fukuoka, but oranges, summer oranges, and kiwis give off a tropical and Itoshima-like vibe. The combination of the slightly bitter, fully ripe summer oranges and the sweet kiwis without acidity was a perfect balance of flavors. It was a great choice to stop by this casual event during my trip.

Took a drive along the coast. What's a good dessert after a meal? Since it's summer, gelato is the way to go. So, I stopped by this corner where food trucks lined up. This year's addition, "KEYA BEACH HOLIC". It's a small gelato specialty store (?). I decided to order a double scoop.
- Yubari King Melon from Itoshima
A beautiful orange color. The slight bitterness is nice.
- Aso Oguni Jersey Milk
Can't go wrong with Jersey cow milk. After purchasing, I quickly moved to the observation deck. Despite hurrying, it was melting rapidly. Surprisingly fast. In the end, it was gone in a flash.

At the Gelato Jayar in Kyoto Isetan's #Kyushu Exhibition. After visiting the new fish shop in the basement, I had gelato as a dessert. From Coco Gelato in Fukuoka. According to the staff, a handsome chef will be visiting on Sunday? It's today! According to Isetan's official website, there is a discount in the morning. The flavors are expected to change slightly every day. The staff was really interesting to talk to, and apparently the handsome chef is his father. They let me try many flavors, and I ended up getting chocolate and Amaou strawberry. The Amaou strawberry sample was refreshing and delicious, but I love chocolate so I ordered that. It turned out to be rich and milky, different from Amaou, and I was surprised. I usually order the maximum number of scoops, but this time the maximum was double, so I got a double scoop. #Gelato #Icecream #KyotoStation #KyotoIsetan #CocoGelato #FukuokaSweets #ItoshimaFruits #Amaou #Chocolate #ChocolateAddict #CoolSweets #KyotoCafe #FukuokaGelato #FukuokaIceCream

Gelato with Amakusa oranges and Yame tea. A combination that feels like early summer.

Overall, this was the 6th curry festival at Maizuru Park. It's a festival full of curry, but the only dessert option here is this one. Many people seemed to be craving something sweet, as there was a long line. However, it seemed like not everyone knew that you had to order first before getting in line, so some people ended up reordering after leaving the line. Also, it was great that you could buy a highball right next to the live performance area and enjoy the live music while waiting in line. Both the milk and summer orange flavors were delicious, but the richness of the milk was particularly good. The summer orange had a nice bitterness to it, but when combined with the milk, it became even more delicious. It was a great way to end the meal. Thank you for the delicious food!
