Recently, there are hardly any restaurants that allow smoking, so we missed the fact that this place was smoking-friendly. Our senior colleague brought us here, and although they had been here a few times before, they didn't really notice that smoking was allowed. We were quite surprised by it. It might be a paradise for smokers. If there were no smokers around, we probably wouldn't have noticed. The curry and naan were delicious. This restaurant has even been featured in a magazine. Thank you for the meal.

I ordered the A set. The A set comes with one type of curry roux, while the B set comes with two types. You can get free refills of naan, but even without refills, the portion is sufficient. It's a bit hard to find, but it's the kind of place you visit when you feel like having it occasionally.

A friend took me to a restaurant they sometimes visit. It's located inside a mixed-use building, in a place you would never find on your own. We had to pass through a vinyl sheet at the entrance to get inside the restaurant. There was only one staff member, who quickly took our order. I ordered the Masala Donburi with everything for 800 yen, which came with a drink, so I chose a lassi. The food that arrived had curry rice with a soft-boiled egg on top, salad, and tandoori chicken all in one bowl. The curry itself wasn't spicy at all, very mild and creamy when mixed together. If you want more spice, there's a sauce on the table you can add. The boneless tandoori chicken was easy to eat and quite satisfying. I would like to come back again. The lassi wasn't very sweet, so personally, I prefer it sweeter.

I searched for a curry place near my workplace and came across a restaurant called Holimasala. Being that my last name is Hori, I felt like I had to check it out, so I went there for lunch right away. The place seems to have been featured in magazines as well! They had 6 lunch options including naan and rice, and I chose the baked cheese curry. The restaurant had a couple of seats at the counter, but by 12:30 it was almost full. The curry was served in a hot stone bibimbap bowl, and it was piping hot. The cheese stayed melted until the end! The cheese was incredibly rich, and just the cheese alone made the rice go down easy. I also had tandoori chicken, but it was delicious even without it. I mixed in the spicy sauce and finished the whole thing sweating, but it was so good! I really enjoyed it! It was a big hit, so I will definitely be going back to Holimasala soon! Thank you for the meal!

I visited before 12 o'clock on a weekday and there were no customers, but they started coming in later, so I had good timing. I was in the mood for curry rice, so I ordered a set with two types of curry and a hot spring egg on top. Both types of curry were not very spicy, so even those who don't like spicy food should be fine. The sauce on the table that makes it spicy can be quite hot, so be careful not to put too much. The lunch set includes drinks, salad, and naan, and you can have refills for 700 to 900 yen, so it's a good deal!

I ended up buying "Choi Nomichicho" Osaka Kita vol.3. When I returned from a business trip to Nagoya, I was hungry and wanted to have a drink. So, I decided to have curry for dinner and visited this place. I headed east from Whity in Umeda, and went out of exit M10 at Izumi Plaza, on the 4th floor of the building where Yoshinoya is located. It's not a location you would casually visit. When I entered, there were no other customers. I showed the chef my guidebook and asked if I could use it, and he said it was fine. I sat at a table where I could see the TV. The set menu at this restaurant (1,000 yen) includes a curry set and one drink. I chose a gin and tonic as my drink. After about 10 minutes, the plate arrived. It was a large naan, two types of curry, salad, and tandoori chicken. It was quite a lot for dinner. First, the curry. Both were a thick type with hardly any spiciness. I can't quite describe the taste, but both had a unique flavor. One of them had bamboo shoots in it. Since it wasn't spicy enough, I added some chili spice. It became a bit more flavorful. The naan was delicious. It was large, thick, and chewy. The salad and tandoori chicken were also tasty! I ordered another drink, a Campari soda (500 yen). After finishing my meal, I was stuffed. Thank you for the meal. PS The difficulty of "Choi Nomichicho" - There is not much of a sense of value in originally affordable restaurants. In expensive restaurants, adding more can be intimidating. But maybe I should choose the latter option, I think.

Great value for money! You can enjoy a generous portion of baked curry for only 600 yen. It's surprising to find such a cost-effective restaurant in the center of Umeda. You can adjust the spiciness level with the provided condiments, so even if you don't like spicy food, you can still enjoy it. The staff at the restaurant were friendly, and I definitely want to visit again in the future.

Eleanor found the Keema to be the spiciest dish she had ever eaten, even though it was made with onions and spices instead of meat. The spices had a crunchy texture to them. The Saffron Rice was perfectly cooked with just the right firmness, flavor, and level of stir-frying, making it very delicious. The Masala Don was a milder version of the Keema, with a sweet flavor that was still tasty, but the rice was a bit mushy.

Located at the intersection of Sonezaki, on the 4th floor of Hankyu Higashi Building (1F is Yoshinoya), this restaurant bar is a bit hard to find due to the old and unattractive appearance of the building. Look for the hand-drawn sign and head to the 4th floor. The restaurant at the back of the floor exudes a unique atmosphere, with J-pop music videos playing on monitors. The place is quite busy with customers. The Indian(?) staff member is managing everything alone and seems quite busy. The menu offers a variety of snack-like fast foods and drinks, but the Curry Set A catches the eye. I ordered it immediately. The Curry Set A costs 780 yen and includes the curry of the day, salad, chicken, all-you-can-eat naan or cheese naan, and all-you-can-drink. The cost is surprisingly reasonable for a night menu with the same price as lunch. The taste and portion size are both satisfying. You can order an extra serving of curry for an additional 100 yen. Each order of curry is about equivalent to two large naans. The baked cheese curry, which we didn't try this time, is also a recommended menu item. If you're in Umeda, this place is worth considering for a meal option.

Today's lunch was at HOLIMASARA in Osaka, Umeda. It's a restaurant located in the bustling area of Higashi Umeda. The atmosphere is a bit pinkish in the evening. It has been 6 years since I last visited. I think this may be my second or third time here. I had the grilled cheese curry for 580 yen, which is a great deal for lunchtime pricing. The price goes up to 680 yen in the evening. The counter seating makes it perfect for dining alone. The staff, who I believe are Nepalese or Indian, speak fluent Japanese and provide excellent service. The dish arrived and looked delicious. The curry is not too spicy and the cheese is not too heavy, making it a light meal. If you prefer spicier food, you can add the paste-like spices on the table. The coffee served with the meal was a nice touch, and there are many drink options to choose from. The menu is extensive and the entrance to the restaurant can be a bit hard to find in the multi-tenant building. Overall, a great dining experience at HOLIMASARA.
