大阪めんま
Located adjacent to the Kintetsu Minami Osaka Line's "Osaka Abenobashi Station," the hotel "Hotel City Osaka Tennoji" operated by the Kintetsu Group. This time, I visited the restaurant on the top floor (17th floor) called "Sky Restaurant Etoile," which operates in a buffet style. From November 1, 2020 (Sunday) to April 30, 2021 (Friday), they are offering the popular "Horsehair Crab All-You-Can-Eat" which is usually crowded. Since this restaurant is eligible for GOTO Eat points, I decided to treat myself a little and went to visit. I made a reservation online using a website called "Ikyu" about a week ago. I chose a weekday Friday, starting from 5:30 pm. The price is 6,000 yen per adult on weekdays and weekends (tax included). It includes all-you-can-eat and drink for soft drinks, with alcoholic beverages available at an additional cost, and the time limit is 120 minutes. Lunch is a bit cheaper at 5,000 yen, but the time limit is 90 minutes. Since there were many people, I only took photos of the dishes I served myself, but the lineup of dishes is as follows (copied from the menu page on Tabelog): [March-April Menu] Boiled Horsehair Crab, Firefly Squid with Honey Yuzu Vinegar Miso, Seared Bonito with Kekka Sauce, Crab and Potato Triangles with Saffron and Tomato Accents, Cherry Shrimp, Steamed Chicken, Ume Flavored Bamboo Shoots, Penne Salad, Charcuterie and Cheese Assortment, Jambon de Paris with Beet and Red Grain Mustard Dip, Fried Chicken with Yam Nyom Flavor, Pork Porchetta with Balsamic Sauce, Crab Spanish Omelette, Oriental Style Roast Pork with Mashed Potatoes, Chicken and Asari Thai Red Soup Curry, Teppanyaki, Western-style Sukiyaki, Poached Egg with Truffle Oil Flavor, Roast Beef, Potato Gratin, Pasta, Pizza, Curry Sandwich, Sashimi, Assorted Sushi, Salad, Fruit Verrine, Cherry Roll Cake, Rose Eclair, Strawberry Mont Blanc, Soft Serve Ice Cream, Assorted Fruits, Various Soft Drinks, Coffee, Tea, Flavored Tea. In reality, there were a few more types of desserts. It may seem like a lot when listed out, but honestly, I felt that the variety was relatively small compared to other buffets. I was able to complete most of the dishes before feeling too full, and I had room to go back for more of the delicious items. So personally, I think this amount of variety is just right. The main highlight was definitely the crab! Even though the crabs were a bit small for a buffet, the taste was undeniably that of real horsehair crab, so I enjoyed three servings. It took time to extract the meat, so it became a 120-minute buffet where I kept moving around. Other highlights included the seared bonito, sashimi of yellowtail, firefly squid, freshly served roast beef, and sukiyaki-style teppanyaki. The yellowtail was rich in fat, and I had four servings of it. The roast beef was moist and chewy, which was my preferred meat texture. The desserts had a spring-like lineup and were visually appealing. Most of the dishes were individually portioned, which is good for hygiene, and it's nice to be able to neatly plate your own dish. It was raining on that day, but since I had a window seat, I could also enjoy the night view. The price is somewhat high at 6,000 yen, but considering it includes all-you-can-eat crab, it was a buffet with a high level of satisfaction. Thank you for the meal!
