When it comes to abundant yakitori and ramen, this place is the best. It had been a long time since I last ate at a restaurant. I introduced a friend the other day and they were delighted, so we went together. We tried various dishes, but I only took photos of these three items. The pork belly was seasoned with salt, while the white motsu was marinated. The pork belly had just the right amount of fat with a touch of salt. The white motsu was tender and had no unpleasant smell, with a nice chewy texture. The beef sagari was very tender and easy to eat. The restaurant's specialty tsukune was delicious, perfectly complemented by the sweet marinade. The "atsuage" fried tofu served at yakitori restaurants is usually deep-fried, but this freshly fried atsuage was a rare treat. It had a crispy exterior and a soft, creamy interior. For the finale, we had ramen. They offer a special sauce (I couldn't quite catch the name due to being tipsy) for free, but I preferred the standard version. The ramen was easy to eat and went down smoothly after drinking. It was delicious.

The yakitori was delicious, but I forgot to take a photo, so here is my review of the ramen. I hope this restaurant opens nearby, it's a must-try. I tried the spicy miso ramen for the first time, but I think the regular one might be better. It had thin noodles with green onions and chashu. The soup had a rich flavor and was quite tasty. There were also customers who came just for the ramen. I couldn't try the fried rice, so I finished with ramen and an extra serving of noodles. I personally preferred the non-spicy version. The sagari yakitori was especially delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Today I went to a live performance at Sun Palace! I decided to have a drink nearby before heading home. I couldn't find the gyoza restaurant I had saved, so I wandered around and stumbled upon this place! I decided to give it a try as the reviews seemed positive despite the low number. The interior had a counter, tables, and a spacious area in the back. I arrived around 9 pm on a Friday and it was almost full, but luckily I found a spot at the counter. Here's what I ordered:
- Complimentary vinegar-motzu appetizer
- Yakitori: chicken heart (170 yen), hand-kneaded tsukune (210 yen), chicken liver (170 yen), darm (150 yen), beef sagari (210 yen), lettuce wrap (240 yen)
- Homemade thick fried tofu (420 yen)
- Japanese-style chicken wings (140 yen)
- Grilled rice ball chazuke (460 yen)
- Draft beer x2 (450 yen each)
- Imo shochu, Yellow Monkey, hot water (330 yen)
The prices for the drinks seemed reasonable. The vinegar-motzu appetizer was thickly sliced and had a crunchy texture, and it was great that it was complimentary. The homemade thick fried tofu was freshly fried in the kitchen, crispy on the outside and silky on the inside. The yakitori with ginger soy sauce was a perfect accompaniment to the drinks. The sagari had a good thickness and juiciness, while the liver was tender and nicely grilled. The darm, a white motsu unique to Kurume, was chewy and tender with a delicious charred flavor. The tsukune with cartilage was juicy and my favorite among the skewers. I also tried the recommended chicken wings, which were crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and flavorful. Lastly, I enjoyed the grilled rice ball chazuke, which had a rich pork bone broth with a spicy pickled mustard leaf rice ball. The pork bone broth was rich and velvety, with a crispy grilled rice ball adding texture. The spicy pickled mustard leaf added a kick to the broth.
Overall, I was very satisfied with the delicious food. One thing that bothered me was that smoking was allowed inside the restaurant. As a non-smoker, inhaling smoke from others was unpleasant and affected the flavor of the food. I wish they would consider making the restaurant smoke-free. It's unfortunate that smoke-free restaurants seem to be decreasing lately.

I stopped by towards the end of lunch! The staff was friendly and energetic. I ordered a set of ramen and fried rice with pickled vegetables. They asked if I wanted to add spicy miso to the ramen, but I'm not a fan of spicy food so I asked for a small amount. I regret not asking for a little more because it was delicious.

It was lunch with a customer I hadn't seen in a while, Mr. M. We went to "Yakitori Nihon Hare Doi-dori Store" in Komon-to Town. I had visited this ramen izakaya before at night. It turns out they have been open for lunch since the pandemic. The entrance is narrow, but the inside is spacious with a lot of depth. The two of us sat side by side at the counter. The lunch menu only had ramen and yakimeshi. The ramen was 500 yen. I thought it was cheap, but then Mr. M ordered the set without hesitation (laughs). The "Yakimeshi set" (700 yen) with ramen and half yakimeshi is a classic set. It was brought to us quickly. Oh, the spicy miso in the middle is vibrant. Red pickled ginger and sesame are included by default. I took a sip of the slightly transparent tonkotsu soup first. Oh, delicious! It has a rich taste but is light. The noodles are thin, which I like. It really has a street food-like flavor. The spicy miso is great for changing the taste. You can ask for it without when ordering, according to your preference. Mr. M said, "I don't need it" (laughs). I definitely want it. The half fried rice in the set is also delicious. Lunch at an izakaya is really high quality. Fukuoka is amazing. Thank you for the meal. Including the service. It was a very satisfying lunch. I envy Mr. M who works nearby... I would like to go again if he's always having lunch there! I also have a blog where I go around eating and drinking while doing bar work. → [Yakitori Nihon Hare Doi-dori Store] *The photos have been increased.

This is a yakitori izakaya located along Doi Street. We used it for a second party for a local New Year's gathering. There were about 7-8 of us, and we used the sunken kotatsu in the back for our meal. We let the juniors choose dishes from the menu and shared them. We started with a cheers with vinegar motsu. For grilled items, the juniors chose vegetable rolls, which is trendy nowadays. They also included potato fries, a dish I like. I don't remember dishes like fried tofu. The young people ended the party with the restaurant's famous ramen. The restaurant is located next to a Seven-Eleven along Doi Street. Yakitori Honhare Doi Street Address: 4-24 Komonodocho, Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City Phone: 092-710-5550 Business hours: 17:30-24:00 (L.O) Closed on Sundays.

Located away from the bustling streets, along a street lined with apartments and mixed-use buildings. The male staff members all have a rugby forward-like physique for some reason. The restaurant has a masculine atmosphere, with a simple and calming interior. The yakitori skewers are large, cooked to a medium doneness except for the rolls. Although charcoal-grilled, the charcoal aroma is faint. The sauce is sweet with a lacking depth of flavor. The salt seasoning is recommended due to the skilled grilling. The chicken liver and chicken heart skewers are juicy and delicious. The white innards (intestines) are tender due to careful preparation, but I prefer them more charred and crispy. The beef skirt steak has a satisfying chewy texture, but it has a slight odor. The pork belly and leek rolls have thin slices of pork belly, giving a refreshing taste with the aroma of pork fat. The spicy miso cucumber is extremely spicy and sweet, overpowering the meat's umami flavor. The ramen is delicious with a slightly salty but drinkable pork bone soup. It has a hint of roastiness and a mild taste. The soup is not too rich, but be careful not to drink too much if you order extra noodles. The noodles are thin, typical of Nagahama style. The rolled chashu has a firm texture. When ordering, you can choose between spicy miso or pickled ginger, but the ginger is already included. The menu mentions free toppings, but the pickled mustard greens are not on the table; you can ask the staff for it, but it is not very spicy and oddly sweet and salty, not fermented but in a seasoned liquid form.

The staff were all bulky like wrestlers, and they were wearing unique t-shirts that seemed to be inspired by Los Ingobernables or armed forces. I personally found it appealing. I ordered ramen and yakisoba. The ramen tasted a bit cheap, like it was made from a commercial ramen soup, but the soup was rich and the noodles were well-cooked, so it was actually quite delicious. I later found out that they started as a food stall, which makes sense. The yakisoba also met my expectations and was quite tasty.

The yakitori menu includes "darmu" (white intestines), which is hard to find in Fukuoka city. I have visited multiple times because it's surprisingly addictive. The lettuce wraps were also delicious and very filling. All the staff members are muscular men, but they are not just loud and boastful like some, they are friendly and likable.
