After finishing work, I visited the restaurant again with my friends. Today, I had the spicy miso ramen with extra chashu topping! It was incredibly delicious. The noodles were perfectly coated in the soup, and both the noodles and the soup were amazing. The chashu was also flavorful and crispy. My friend had the burnt miso ramen, which was rich and had a great texture with the noodles soaking up the soup. This restaurant is highly recommended!

We had the Spicy Miso Ramen with extra toppings of wood ear mushrooms, green onions, and extra chashu at Gankutsuou Ramen. My partner had the Miso Pyramid Vegetable Ramen. Both had rich and flavorful broth, and were delicious. We come here occasionally to fully enjoy the Spicy Miso Ramen.

2022♡♡105th bowl, 12/22 around 9:30 PM. After finishing my son's spicy miso ramen class, we tried to go to Toratetsu, but their last order was at 9 PM. We found out that Gankutsuou-san is open until midnight, so we decided to go there. We both wanted to eat ramen! When we arrived, the other customers had just left, leaving only us. I had the spicy miso ramen, while my son had the salt ramen. The broth was more to my liking than the salt one. The rice bowl was a big hit, with the rice soaking up all the delicious broth! The noodles were also excellent, very satisfying! As we were leaving, the owner or staff member came out and saw us off politely. It's always nice to express appreciation for a good meal, right? They mentioned that they are open until 11:30 PM for last orders, so they asked us to come back again for a leisurely meal. With a smile, they made us feel good, and the ramen tasted even better. It's important, isn't it? These little words of kindness. I haven't been there yet this year, but I will definitely go back! Thank you for the delicious meal! Ahh, what a wonderful experience!

After work, on my way home after 10 PM, I was thinking about what to have for dinner. Did I cook rice? I went back home to check and found out I didn't. So, I decided to eat out. I quickly shoveled the snow in the parking lot and headed to a restaurant that was still open at this hour. It was Ra-men Gankutsuou Iwamizawa Pyramid store. There was already one customer inside. I bought meal tickets from the machine: Grilled Soy Sauce Pyramid Vegetable Ramen ¥1,080, Medium Rice ¥180, and Gyoza (dumplings) ¥450. The food was served in less than 10 minutes. The ramen had the usual ingredients plus sautéed cabbage, carrots, and ground meat. It was very filling! The gyoza were round and there were 5 of them. They had a nice gradient of color from being grilled. The rice came with pickled radish. I started with the ramen. The taste was similar to a famous pork bone soy sauce ramen place in Ebetsu! I really like this flavor. I started feeling like I wanted some fried pork ribs (fried pork belly) though. But the oil was a bit too much for me. My lips were getting oily. I added a lot of pepper midway to give it a punch. I took a bite of the gyoza. The chewy skin released a burst of meat juice! The umami spread in my mouth! The ginger was also a nice touch. I recommend eating one gyoza in one bite to avoid the meat juice splattering when you bite halfway through the second one. I had three glasses of cold water after the meal, probably because the flavors were strong. I was happy they provided a pitcher. Thank you for the meal! Despite the late hour, the service was good. Every time I go to this restaurant, I feel like ordering gyoza.

A new restaurant opened in the same location as the previous one. The interior hasn't changed much. I ordered the miso ramen set for 1100 yen. The taste is quite high-level. The soup is not too salty and has a strong umami flavor. The gyoza is like a slightly sweet, thick-skinned xiaolongbao with plenty of juicy filling, delicious! The noodles are a bit soft, which is a bit disappointing. The chashu is thick and tasty. Overall, everything except the noodles is really good. I recommend getting the noodles firm next time. I will try the shoyu ramen with firm noodles on my next visit.

Visited for the first time on December 3, 2022, marking my 122nd visit of the year. Today, I had the day off while my wife was at work. So, I decided to have lunch by myself, but I brought Hana-chan along. I feel a bit guilty leaving her in the car while I eat, but it's better than leaving her at home. Plus, she loves car rides (laughs). I didn't want to go too far, so I decided to try out a new restaurant in Iwamizawa! I went to Ramen Gankutsuou Iwamizawa Pyramid Store. This place used to be a favorite coffee shop of mine, but later a ramen shop took over, which I didn't really like. I was curious to see how it is now. As I entered the restaurant, I could feel the pyramid theme, despite the complete renovation of the interior (laughs). I purchased a burnt miso ramen for 880 yen from the ticket machine. I took a seat at the counter and handed over my ticket. The interior is quite stylish, and the staff seemed a bit inexperienced at times. I also felt a strange sense of discomfort. After about 10 minutes of waiting, the ramen arrived. Right after that, water was served... a bit strange. The bowl had a unique shape. The soup was not too oily, with moderate saltiness, but lacked depth. The noodles were thick and straight, which I didn't think paired well with the weak soup. I'm not a fan of this type of wood ear mushroom, so I quickly finished it. The toppings included vegetables, char siu, menma, all pretty standard. The stir-fried vegetables seemed like they were added in just to have them. The char siu was on the tough side and had a dry texture that I didn't particularly like. To sum it up, it may seem like I didn't enjoy the ramen based on what I wrote, but it wasn't bad. I was able to finish the soup, but I left some parts untouched, which left me with a feeling that it wasn't quite right for me. I don't think I'll be revisiting because I doubt I'll find a ramen that suits me better. It was a bit disappointing for a new restaurant in Iwamizawa, but at least I tried it out today. I usually prefer miso ramen, but today I felt like eating soy sauce ramen so I visited this restaurant for the first time and ordered the soy sauce ramen. The bowl looked small at first glance, shaped like a mortar. It was deep when viewed from the side. I tried the soup first. It had a fragrant and slightly rich soy sauce flavor. Delicious! The noodles were thin and curly, cooked slightly firm which was ideal. It was even more delicious than I expected. Next time, I'll come back to try the miso ramen. Thank you for the meal.

I stopped by for dinner after work. It's Ramen Gankutsuou Iwamizawa Pyramid Store. They are open until late, which is convenient. It used to be a place called '45395' before. Unfortunately, I've never been to 45395. There were no other customers probably because it was close to 10 pm when I visited. I ordered the Roasted Salt Ramen (large serving for ¥1,000) and Char Siu Rice (¥350) from the ticket machine. I was guided to a counter that was shaped like an S and my order was served as soon as I sat down. The Roasted Salt Ramen had a milky soup with 2 slices of char siu, menma, green onions, wood ear mushrooms, stir-fried bean sprouts & onions. The Char Siu Rice had small rice with 2 slices of char siu and green onions. I started with the ramen. Oh, I like this type of noodles. They have a rich aroma. The soup was lighter in taste than it looked. The char siu was tender and the vegetables were well-stir-fried and crunchy. I added some pepper halfway through to change the flavor. As I continued eating, my lips started feeling sticky from the oil. The fact that the soup stayed hot until the end was good, but it was a bit concerning. Thank you for the meal! It's a good option when you crave something to eat late at night.

Today was the day to change the tires on my beloved car. Just as I was thinking about getting ready, I received a call from work. (;´д｀)ﾄﾎﾎ... Another day of fun working on my day off. Work went smoothly and I was able to make it in time for the tire change. After the tire change, I felt hungry. So, I decided to go to the nearby restaurant called "Gankutsuou". I wanted to have the lunch set, but apparently it's only available on weekdays? They should have written that down! I ended up ordering the "Roasted Salt Ramen (880 yen)" with an additional "Wood Ear Mushrooms (120 yen)". Last time I had soy sauce ramen, so this time I went for the salt version. The soup was not too salty and easy to drink. The Marukatsu noodle was slurp-worthy and chewy, which I really liked. The wood ear mushrooms I added were plentiful and delicious. The combination of stir-fried vegetables, noodles, and wood ear mushrooms made my mouth happy. I added vinegar, pepper, and grated garlic halfway through for a full flavor experience. Oh, I just realized I forgot to get a stamp on my stamp card... Oh no, I used a different bag because of the work on my day off! What a shock! Oh, I noticed there were a lot of families with kids. They must have a "Kids Corner" here. This way, parents can enjoy their ramen without worrying about their children.

I heard about a new ramen shop in Iwamizawa, so I decided to give it a try. It seems to be a chain restaurant, but I had never been to any of their other locations before, so this was my first time at Gokutsu-oh. I ordered the burnt miso ramen. It had a unique taste that I had not experienced before, but it was delicious and I finished every last drop. They seem to be open late into the night, so I might end up relying on them for dinner when in need.

A new restaurant has opened in Iwamizawa. Oh! It's in the place where "45395" with the triangular roof used to be. I guess "45395" closed down, not surprising. Now, for the first time at this restaurant, the soy sauce... Hmm, the "burnt miso" and "roasted salt" also sound interesting. Inside the restaurant, there is a delicious smell in the air. Here it comes! The soup looks rich. One sip... Indeed, it's not creamy but rich. A piece of garlic, a fragrant aroma, just the way I like it. But, there's something off... A flat taste on the tongue. The noodles are medium-thin curly noodles, I asked for them to be cooked firm, and they are just right. ...I'm starting to get bored. It's quite tasty but it tastes like something I've had before. It's similar to the soy sauce ramen at Kotetsu or Ichikokudo. It's a unique taste around here, but I wonder if it will survive.

Once again, a new store in Iwamizawa. It's the place where "45395" used to be, right? GanKutsuOu has stores in Sapporo and Obihiro. I wonder if they chose Iwamizawa for the new store because it's in the middle of the two cities? I arrived quite early before the opening, but there was already a considerable line. Maybe I should have spaced out my visit a bit more? They offer a discount for the grand opening, just like that other store that opened before (the discount seems to be only for today according to the flyer). A bit before 11 am, the owner appeared along with the noren curtain. He greeted the regular customers and then thanked everyone in line, saying, "Thank you for waiting." What a nice person! Now, the line is moving, but I didn't make it to the first batch. Well, that's expected (laughs). The menu mentions "Marukatsu Seimen" for the noodles. I didn't know about it, is it famous? I looked it up, and it seems to be a company from Ebetsu. Today, they only have soy sauce, miso, salt, and rice on the menu, so using the ticket machine was easy. I ordered the "Yaki Shoyu Ramen, large portion (1000 yen → 620 yen)" because it's a special offer. Normally, I don't get the large portion, but with the discount, why not (laughs). There are so many staff members. I peeked into the kitchen, and there were about 10 men and women working. Impressive for an opening day. The service, including the staff, was excellent. You can see how much effort they put into the opening of the new store. It took a bit longer for the food to arrive due to the busy day (around 11:50, so almost an hour). But it was worth the wait. The soup had a faint, savory aroma. Is this the smell of grilled soy sauce? It was easy to drink and tasty. The chashu was thin but firm. I was pleasantly surprised because I thought it would be tender based on its appearance. Um, the noodles didn't soak up the soup. Why is that? The noodles were delicious and chewy. It's a bit disappointing that they didn't absorb the soup, but I still enjoyed them. I got a stamp card, so I'll definitely come back. Next time, I'll add egg and mushrooms. *Is it still okay to leave your friends waiting in line and then join them later? I wonder if that's acceptable nowadays? I'm not sure.

Lunch for 1100 yen. Burnt soy sauce gyoza (3 pieces), rice, and pickles. The gyoza and soup were delicious. The service was good and the turnover was fast. Next time, I want to try the burnt miso flavor!
