A set meal that can only be eaten after 1pm. Thinly sliced beef for shabu-shabu rolled on top, accompanied by thick tofu, bean sprouts, cabbage, leeks, and other vegetables. The amount of meat is modest and a bit underwhelming. However, there were noodles hidden at the bottom of the pot. Rice was also included, making it a bit carb-heavy. The spicy hot and sour soup made the noodles a great side dish. If it's the same price, I prefer the "Lamb Spare Rib Hot Pot Set Meal" with plenty of lamb. Nevertheless, it's rare to be able to enjoy authentic Chinese hot pot easily even when dining alone. I'm curious about the grand menu as well.

I heard that you can enjoy authentic Chongqing cuisine on Twitter. It's within walking distance from my office, so I decided to visit during my lunch break. I ordered the Chongqing noodles and half fried rice set for 880 yen. The noodles were topped with meat miso, green onions, bean sprouts, and nuts, and were warm and delicious. The deep bowl allowed me to mix the noodles well with the sauce hidden at the bottom. It was spicy and tasty, and I couldn't stop eating. The fried rice was simple and lightly seasoned with vegetables and eggs, which complemented the flavorful Chongqing noodles perfectly. The set also came with a salad, fried spring rolls, and pickled vegetables, which was a nice touch. The restaurant also offers typical Chinese dishes, so it gets crowded with office workers around noon. I wanted to try the Sichuan-style ice powder, but it was no longer on the menu, which was disappointing. However, there were many other tempting options on the wall menu, including the lamb spare rib hot pot set for 1380 yen, which I couldn't resist. The hot pot meal started with a red soup filled with large chunks of lamb meat, bean sprouts, and Chinese cabbage. The soup was spicy with cumin and Sichuan pepper, with a ratio of 2:8, making the spiciness mainly from chili peppers. The meat had bones and was large, so I wished they provided plastic gloves. It was a delightful experience to enjoy hot pot even during the daytime. I look forward to visiting again on a day off to try more items from the wall menu.

Sakaisuji Honmachi Kita, Itayabashi-suji, Chinese restaurant "Shinmi" uses authentic Sichuan spices for their spicy Sichuan cuisine. Daily special set meal A includes tantan noodles and Tianjin rice for 800 yen. The staff are also from the mainland, speaking Chinese, and the spicy noodles are deliciously spicy. The Tianjin rice is light and makes for a good set meal. Mapo tofu, sweet and sour pork, and wontons are also frequently served.

I went to Szechuan Ryori Shinmi in Gachimachi 1-chome, Sakai-suji Honmachi, Minami Senba area. I was seated at a table in the back and ordered the Ma Oil La Oil Wonton + Tianjin Don (small) for 980 yen, and the Three Fresh Pho + Half Fried Rice for 1,180 yen. You can choose from three levels of spiciness, but as it is Szechuan cuisine, it is very spicy. It was delicious, but I recommend starting with "mild" for first-timers. Thank you for the meal.

Located on the north side of Sakaisuji Honmachi. Since it was past the lunchtime peak, I was able to get in right away. Many reviews mentioned that the food was quite spicy, so I decided to go with the mapo tofu set meal. I had high expectations. Surprisingly, the food was served quickly. I wondered if it was pre-made because it was so fast. Feeling a bit disappointed, I tried it and it was piping hot. The mapo tofu wasn't as spicy as I had expected, but it might be spicy for some people. It was a bit on the lighter side with plenty of fermented black beans. The fried chicken was also piping hot. Even if it was double-fried, it was incredibly hot. So, why was it served so quickly? A mystery. Well, it was delicious being piping hot, so that's good. (No matter how delicious it is, lukewarm food is not good...) Also, despite being a Chinese restaurant, the rice was incredibly tasty. I've been to various restaurants, but there are few Chinese restaurants where the rice is tasty. When I looked at the menu board, it said "New rice in stock! Refills available." They are using new rice at this restaurant. Thank you for the meal!!!

I used it for lunch on a regular day. It is an authentic Szechuan cuisine located on the 1st floor of Higashi Building, about an 8-minute walk from Sakaisuji-Honmachi Station. The restaurant, opened in 2019, has a small atmosphere with a total of 32 seats. The service was handled by two Chinese female staff. I ordered the set menu "Chongqing Xiaomian Set 880 yen" this time. Here is the content and evaluation: [◎, ◯, △] Chongqing Xiaomian ◯ A Szechuan-style spicy mixed noodle dish with a strong taste. The noodles are curly and medium thick, similar to a mix of Taiwanese mixed noodles and tantanmen. It is served hot, which is a bonus. w/ chicken mince, dried green onions, bean sprouts, peanuts Half-fried rice ◯ A fried rice that is moist and slightly crispy, with a good seasoning that helps balance the spiciness of Chongqing Xiaomian. w/ egg, carrots, green peas Salad ◯ A mini salad made with lettuce, watercress, and corn, with a light dressing. This time, I tried the Tan Tan Men set. It was a great deal with a side of salad and pickled vegetables for 750 yen. The Tan Tan Men was surprisingly light, with medium-thick flat noodles that reminded me of Japanese ramen noodles (which I like). It wasn't very spicy, unlike the hot and sour soup noodles that I prefer. The Tianjin Rice was very light and easy on the stomach, perfect for a productive afternoon. Perhaps it's tailored for Japanese taste? The rice, labeled as new rice, was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

I had the daily special spicy noodles. It is indeed spicy, but not overwhelmingly so. I can see hints of Sichuan peppercorns, but it's not too numbing. The deep, rich aroma is what stands out, and it tastes delicious. The noodles have a nice chewy texture. The meat, similar to tripe, is sweet and tasty. I really enjoy this flavor and the level of spiciness is just right for me!

Lunchtime memo of the day when I wanted something with a punch. It's a small shop, but there are seats in the back too... You can't see them from inside the shop. Lunchtime is very popular, and there was a bit of a wait, but the turnover seems to be good. The lunch set for 800 yen also caught my eye, but the daily special is 730 yen, and they have spicy Sichuan noodles! I came here to have tantanmen, but I ended up getting the spicy Sichuan noodles set (^^) Here's what the set includes: Spicy Sichuan noodles, fried rice, salad, and pickled vegetables. All this for 730 yen is really reasonable and much appreciated. The noodles in the spicy Sichuan noodles were a bit curly. There's a lot of chili peppers in it, but it's not as spicy as it looks. The Sichuan peppercorns are also quite abundant, but they're whole so the numbing sensation isn't overwhelming, and the fragrance is just right. It had minced meat, bean sprouts, and chives as toppings, which made it enjoyable. The fried rice was fluffy and tasty. I enjoyed it while refreshing my palate with the salad and pickled vegetables. They also have reasonably priced sets for dinner, so I'd like to come back if I have the chance. Thank you for the meal!

Today's lunch was at "Szechuan Ryori Shinmi" in Osaka, Sakaisuji Honmachi. Since I was dining alone, it was a bit of a journey. I felt like having some local Chinese food, so I decided to come here. Although, I was a bit unsure if this place qualifies as a local Chinese restaurant. Anyway, I ordered the daily special set meal (730 yen). The daily special set meal had four options: A: Tan Tan Men + Tianjin Rice B: Spicy Wonton C: Stir-fried Shrimp and Chinese Cabbage D: Twice-Cooked Pork Each set meal came with a salad, pickles, and rice. However, the Spicy Wonton that I ordered came with fried rice instead of white rice. The fried rice was simply labeled as "Yakimeshi." When I entered the restaurant, it was quite crowded, and as a lone diner, I had to share a table. The Spicy Wonton arrived, and it was not as spicy as I expected, just the right amount of heat. There was minced meat in the middle of the dish, which made it a bit difficult to eat. The fried rice was decent, but it seemed to have cooled down while I was taking photos. The portion was a bit small. The salad and pickled vegetables were a nice addition. Overall, it was a satisfying meal. On a Saturday afternoon, I saw this Mapo Tianjin Don being featured on TV and decided to try it for dinner. The result was an interesting mix of flavors between the egg and Mapo sauce. Authentic Chinese flavors! Why is this place so empty? This restaurant serves delicious, spicy Chinese dishes at affordable prices. Before the COVID outbreak, I visited China five or six times, and I think there are not many places that can replicate the taste of local dishes like this one. The staff is friendly, and the drinks are cheap. It's a hidden gem. I'm glad I found this place. It's always nice to come across such a restaurant. I hope it doesn't become too popular, but if you're interested, give it a try. Oh, it's a paradise for spice lovers. And it has the scent of China (maybe from the oil they use). I'm used to it now, and I actually like it.

I had been curious about a hidden restaurant for a while and was drawn in by the sign advertising one-coin drinks. I ordered the one-coin set, choosing the Chongqing saliva chicken from the selection of dishes. The draft beer was served in a small size, so I ended up ordering a bottled beer as well. The Chongqing saliva chicken was authentic and had a strong flavor of Sichuan peppercorns, giving it a nice level of spiciness. The food was quite good, so I would like to try the all-you-can-drink hot pot next time. The mapo tofu for lunch also sounds like a good option.

I felt like eating Sichuan-style Mapo Tofu, so I decided to visit this place with a nice storefront. It was lunchtime and there were a lot of rough-looking guys, giving off a strong male vibe. I ordered the Mapo Tofu and fried chicken set, which came with rice. The Mapo Tofu had green onions on top and was quite spicy, typical of Sichuan cuisine. It was spicy but not too extreme, just a normal spicy Mapo Tofu. The fried chicken was a bit on the tough side but satisfyingly large. You can get a rice refill, but I only managed to eat half. This restaurant used to change every year with different Chinese owners, but the current one seems promising. They offer authentic Szechuan cuisine, with a lunch special of 4 options for 700 yen. In the midst of a midsummer Friday lunch, wanting to refresh with some spiciness, I visited this Sichuan cuisine restaurant. It was 12:55 and I was seated at a table. Even though the lunch rush was over, about 70% of the tables were already taken. I chose the daily special, which was the mapo tofu fried chicken set for 700 yen. The food was served in just 5 minutes. The mapo tofu fried chicken was intriguing and delicious, with ground lettuce topping the fried chicken and covered in mapo sauce. The fried chicken was freshly cooked and tasty, and the mapo sauce was amazing with a spicy kick that lingered. I ended up getting two extra servings of rice because it was so good. The Chinese soup with tomatoes was refreshing and complemented the meal well. I was impressed by the innovative and delicious flavors, and I definitely want to come back for more. The Tianjin fried rice was light and had plenty of eggs. The balance was good because the tantanmen had a strong flavor. It was nice that it was non-smoking during lunchtime, and there was an ashtray outside the restaurant. The other menu items also looked reasonably priced and delicious, so I would like to visit again.
