It's a spice activity♪ It's still early for lunch, so I headed to this restaurant that offers curry on their morning menu around 10:30 on a Saturday. The restaurant is located inside the Kizu Wholesale Market. Luckily, there was a table available when I entered, and I was seated there. I ordered the homemade curry and coffee. After the meal, the drink was discounted by 200 yen, which was very kind. The homemade curry arrived. You can tell it's been cooked well by its appearance! The sight of the half-boiled egg peeking out from the brown curry, along with the yellow pickled radish, whet my appetite. The first bite was fruity! It's a curry that you can drink! As I continued eating, I could taste the spices well. When enjoyed with the half-boiled egg, the spiciness mixed with the mellowness created the perfect sweet and savory curry. It was a blissful deliciousness! The meat was also well-cooked and melted in my mouth. I wish they had a menu option with extra meat! I finished it in no time. The coffee after the meal had a nice bitterness that was refreshing and delicious. There was a regular customer who would give up their seat for new customers, creating a very pleasant atmosphere in the restaurant. I would love to try their milk coffee and sandwich next time. Thank you for the meal♪

After enjoying plenty of sushi at Maruyoshi, we stopped by Kaino Coffee Factory for some coffee. Upon entering the shop, we were tempted by various delicious dishes such as toast, yakisoba, and egg toast. While browsing the menu, we noticed a shield in the shop. It turns out that Sarah, the food search app, recommended the curry rice here! Intrigued, we decided to try the curry rice set (small size for 620 yen) along with iced coffee and hot coffee. The staff asked if we were okay with spicy food, to which we eagerly agreed. After a short wait, our curry rice arrived. It was slightly spicy, but the fluffy egg omelette helped balance the heat. The coffee was also delicious. A wonderful café experience! Feeling refreshed, we concluded our Osaka trip and headed to Fushimi Inari in Kyoto for some souvenir shopping at Fushimi Inari OICY Village. Thank you for the meal! We'll definitely be back!

I had a seafood bowl at the fish market dining hall at Mitsu Market, but it started raining, so I took shelter at Cafe Kaino, a shop that roasts its own coffee beans. The place was full of market workers, but I managed to find a seat. I ordered a drink and a set of toast and boiled egg for 450 yen. The homemade iced coffee had a light acidity and aroma that wasn't too strong. The toast was cut into three pieces and served with butter and jam. The boiled egg was peeled and served warm.

Inbound tourism has brought back the hustle and bustle to the Kizu Wholesale Market. Sushi and eel restaurants have lines forming before opening. Located at the edge of the market is Kaio Coffee Factory, a café popular among market workers and tourists as a resting spot. I also tried their breakfast set: coffee and egg toast for 550 yen. The fluffy scrambled egg sits on top of the toast with tomato ketchup drizzled on top. The toast was a bit soft, and the taste was simple, like eating ketchup-flavored scrambled eggs on toast. The coffee was rich and smooth, very delicious. I added a boiled egg for an extra 60 yen, which was served already peeled. They also offer light meals like sandwiches, yakisoba, and curry, all claimed to be homemade. Overall, it's a casual café that you can easily enjoy.

After going to bed and waking up early, I took a two-hour walk and then enjoyed morning sake at Mitsuya Sake Store in front of Kushu Market. I ended the morning with curry (laughs). I heard that coffee is good for preventing diabetes, so I ordered it even though I don't usually drink it. I got a black coffee without sugar or milk. It was satisfying in terms of taste and price, with a 200 yen discount when ordered with a meal. I had the Morning Homemade Curry (large portion) for 800 yen including tax, and a Hot Coffee for 150 yen (normally 350 yen including tax). On my way back, I expressed my gratitude for the year at Namba Hachikanshin Shrine before returning home. #Naniwa Ward #Kushu Market #Kaino Coffee Factory #Morning Service #Breakfast #Curry Rice #Coffee

I came to Kizu Market after a long time. When I arrived, I headed to Kaino-san near the market entrance. Their shop is open from early morning until noon, so it's always in a morning-like atmosphere. I tried their favorite egg toast and coffee set for 500 yen. The thick toast with fluffy fried egg and ketchup was a good match. The coffee was not too strong, just right. I also got a piece of my companion's sandwich, which had eggs, vegetables, and ham, making it quite filling.

It's been a while since I visited Kaino Coffee. I had planned to graduate from the egg-topped toast and eat curry, but I ended up ordering a sandwich instead (//∇//). It was made with thin omelette, tomato, lettuce, ham, cucumber sandwiched between bread with spicy mayonnaise, cut into bite-sized pieces. They also provided some salt on the side, which I found a bit strange, but the sandwich itself was quite mild in flavor. It tasted great with a light sprinkle of salt. Perhaps they have made it suitable for people on a low-salt diet? They had the door open for COVID-19 prevention, so there was no smell of smoke. Coffee & sandwich for 650 yen.

After lunch. Feeling a little unsatisfied. For a moment, the thought of having a small portion of cold noodles from the Cold Noodle House crossed my mind. No, no, that won't do... There should be a cafe still open around here. I ordered an iced coffee and toast. There weren't any smokers in the cafe this day, but later on an order for pilaf came in and filled the small shop with greasy and smoky air. It smelled bad. The toast at the cafe is delicious. I'm happy that some come with jam ♫ The bill was 380 yen. So cheap! Thank you for the meal.

I woke up at 6 am, opened the window, and looked up at the clear sky. I felt like having curry! I wanted curry rice with a fried egg on top! So, I decided to take a walk to Kizu Market today. I ended up at Kaino Coffee Shop. The place was cozy, with regulars and market customers coming in and out. I ordered the homemade curry for 600 yen. The rice was topped with a fried egg and covered in curry sauce. The sight of the egg yolk peeking through the sauce made my mouth water. I broke the egg with a spoon, mixing the yolk with the curry sauce. It was delicious, with well-cooked vegetables and spices. I finished it in no time. I forgot to order coffee, but I'll definitely come back for their yakisoba next time. It was a satisfying experience. Thank you!

On May 2, 2022, I visited the emergency center due to my deteriorating health, and after receiving some medication, I decided to stop by my regular hospital on the Monday during Golden Week to get some advice. I had my daily medication slightly adjusted. On my way back, I decided to have lunch at "Kaino Coffee Factory" located within the Kizu Wholesale Market in Naniwa Ward, Osaka City. It's a coffee specialty shop that is popular for its light meals, morning sets, and especially for its award-winning European-style curry in the "Ultimate Curry Kansai Edition 2022" competition. I arrived around 11 am and sat at the farthest table, where I enjoyed their homemade curry with a soft-boiled egg for 600 yen. The curry, which is simmered slowly for about a day to satisfy the stomachs of those working at the market from 2 am, initially had the umami of beef and a fruity sweetness from various fruits. However, the spiciness gradually kicks in, creating a delicious sweet and spicy flavor. The perfectly cooked soft-boiled egg on top enhances the mildness of the curry when mixed with the runny yolk. Despite feeling unwell, my appetite was still good. The price of 600 yen for such a well-prepared dish was unbeatable, and I thought about trying the extra-large portion for an additional 100 yen next time. Even when feeling at my worst, at least my appetite is still going strong! Bon appétit!

After enjoying a set meal at the cafeteria, it started to snow lightly. I decided to take a coffee break and share a half portion of egg toast! The egg toast had a fried egg cooked with margarine on top of the toast, a type I have liked since I was a child and often eat at home. I realized I didn't need ketchup this time, but it was still delicious. The coffee and toast set only cost 500 yen, which was cheap! The toast was cut into easy-to-eat pieces, which was nice. A smoker sat next to me at one point, so I wondered if this was a smoking-friendly establishment. When I got home, I wondered if the curry at this place was famous. Thank you for the meal.

There is a cafe in Kizu Market that serves delicious curry, which I wouldn't have noticed if it weren't for Tabelog. When I went there before, they were still preparing the curry, and the next time I went, they hadn't cooked the rice yet. So, I finally went for morning curry at 9 am. The curry, served quickly in about 5 minutes, came in a large portion with a half-boiled egg on top, looking delicious. The curry itself is simple but with just the right amount of spice, making it very easy to eat without feeling heavy. I silently enjoyed eating it and finished it in no time. I never expected to find such delicious curry here. Thank you, Tabelog!

Usually, I don't really come to Kizu Market, which is in a somewhat awkward location, but recently I've been mixing in walking with my food adventures. So, I decided to tackle a challenge at a nearby place that I've been curious about for a while. The ultimate curry in the Kansai region in the European curry category, the runner-up store in 2022, is here. I found this place where you can also smoke inside, which was a pleasant surprise. I ordered the handmade curry for 600 yen (tax included), which looked really good with a half-cooked fried egg on top. To be honest, I thought I could do without the egg, but it turned out to be quite spicy! It started off at a level of 3-4 spiciness like CoCo Ichibanya, but by the end, it had escalated to about an 8 on their scale. The egg helped balance out the spiciness. Overall, it was a tasty European-style curry and definitely worth the 600 yen. It was delicious, thank you for the meal.

Amazing morning curry at a café in Osaka's Kinshicho Market. Kai No Coffee Factory, open from 2:00 AM to 2:00 PM, located in Imamiya Ebisu/Okunicho within Osaka Kinshicho Wholesale Market. They serve homemade curry with half-cooked egg on top, with an option for extra large portion. Plus, you can get a discount on coffee (150 yen off) after your meal. The origin of Kinshicho Market dates back to over 300 years ago, in the 7th year of Hoei (1710), when it started as a place for open-air selling. It is Japan's largest private regional wholesale market.

At the Kaino cafe in Mokuz Market, you can enjoy homemade curry in a traditional cafe atmosphere. The cafe opens early in the morning, which is great for curry enthusiasts exploring the area. You can choose the size of the curry, and I opted for a small size for breakfast. Along with the curry, I ordered a cup of milk coffee. The curry was surprisingly fruity at first bite, followed by the savory taste of the meat. The curry is well-balanced and has a light European-style touch to it. The perfectly cooked sunny-side-up egg adds depth to the flavor and enhances the overall deliciousness. The milk coffee also had a nostalgic and delicious taste. The portion size was satisfying and the prices were reasonable. This hidden gem is not well-known among curry enthusiasts in Osaka, but it is loved by those who appreciate delicious food. As a curry enthusiast myself, I can say that the curry at Kaino cafe was truly delicious!

Last night I watched a live performance and stayed at a nearby hotel. Surprisingly, it was close to Tsutenkaku Tower, so I took a morning stroll! The neon lights of Tsutenkaku Tower are famous worldwide! It's great to come across something related to Ibaraki Prefecture here as I am from Tsukuba City. The streets here remind me of Asakusa Rokku area from about 20 years ago! There are quite a few mysterious-looking movie theaters around (^◇^;) It's hard to find shops open in the morning, so when I returned to the hotel, I found out that there is Osaka Kizu Wholesale Market near Namba! I wandered around the market and even saw some trucks. Feeling hungry, I went to Coffee Senka Kanoi. I wanted to order curry, but they said they didn't have any today (><) I ended up getting coffee and egg toast. The interior of the shop is filled with fishermen and workers from the fish market (^◇^;) The iced coffee with creamy egg toast was very delicious. And all that for only 450 yen, which is quite affordable. This market also has a super sento (public bath) attached, so it's convenient to know about it. The hotel I stayed at, "Hotel WBF Namba," is a newly built hotel and was very affordable and good. Currently, I'm on the new rapid train heading towards Kyoto.

I didn't know there was a market in Namba. Since they also have a morning market, I decided to visit Kuromon Market. However, I arrived too early. So, I decided to have breakfast. There were seafood bowls and eel dishes available at the market, but they were a bit out of my budget, so I had to pass. It's a shame. Towards the back of the market, there was a cafe that seemed to cater to locals and market workers. They also had curry on the menu, so I decided to try that. I ordered the curry with egg. I was expecting a home-cooked style curry, but it turned out to be a proper curry dish. The taste was something that I wouldn't be able to replicate at home. It was delicious and I finished every bit of it. The cafe was small, but it was constantly full of workers and customers coming and going, so it was quite lively. Many people couldn't get a seat. It was an interesting place. I recommend giving it a try.

The interior of the shop has about 19 two-seater tables, totaling around 40 seats, so it's not very spacious. However, having around 40 seats is quite large for a small cafe. It seemed crowded on the day of the Saturday market, with people waiting in line. The prices are reasonable, with coffee, toast, and boiled eggs priced at 380 yen. I wanted to try the curry rice with eggs for lunch, but I'll have to come back another time. The place was full of customers, so I couldn't tell what kind of coffee they served or how many staff were working.

A cafe inside Mitsu Market. There are usually not many people waiting to enter, but the seats are always full! I always order curry rice and iced coffee here. The curry seems to be homemade, and I add a raw egg to it. It's really delicious!!

Kizuh Market is actually called Kizuh Wholesale Market. In the past, my classmates' families used to wholesale dried goods here. It used to be a place where general shoppers couldn't go, but about 10 years ago, they started opening it to the public twice a month on Saturdays as "Kizuh Morning Market," and it became popular among inbound tourists. Right now (March 2020), the morning market has been canceled due to the coronavirus. When I go to the morning market, I buy seafood, vegetables, and fruits, and also stop by a cafe. My favorite is the egg toast at Kaino. It's not part of a morning set, so I order it with coffee. The toast is topped with a roughly cooked egg. The amount of butter varies, and the saltiness can be inconsistent. The egg and toast are cut into squares, and then ketchup is generously drizzled on top. It's a unique taste that becomes addictive. The coffee is a strong type typical of old cafes in Osaka, which I also enjoy.
