The sweet treats had been going on for a while, and I was starting to crave something salty, so I headed to the restaurant district. However, every place seemed crowded. In the midst of it all, I found this relatively empty restaurant and decided to check it out. Although there were some empty seats, it felt a bit chaotic. When I entered, I was directed to a table, but there were several empty tables around, some of which were not being used due to COVID-19, so I wished they had guided me to a better spot. The ordering was done through a mobile system. Also, even though the seats were spaced out, the person behind me didn't seem to understand the concept of eating quietly.
I ordered the Oyster Kamameshi with a side of chilled sake for 2,460 yen. It seemed like the type of place that cooks the rice after you order. As I sipped on my sake, the dish arrived. Visually, it looked great. The oysters were plump and juicy. However, when I tasted it, I was a bit disappointed. The rice in the Kamameshi was a bit soft... It was cooked in, but for someone who prefers firmer rice, it was lacking. They suggested turning it into ochazuke for the second half, but with the softness, it seemed like it would turn into rice soup haha. I did try making ochazuke, but despite the size of the pot, there was surprisingly little dashi, and I could barely fill one bowl. There were a few other things that bothered me as well, so overall, it was a bit disappointing. I'll have to think twice before returning. Thank you for the meal.
