I visited after several years. It was busy inside the restaurant probably due to the year-end rush. The staff were running around too much, which was a bit overwhelming. The order didn't come, and some unordered items arrived. I wish they were more attentive to details. The taste has definitely declined compared to a few years ago. The chicken thigh skewers are tastier at the main branch. The pieces of tripe in the hot pot were small and not very flavorful. The horse sashimi was served frozen solid. The sashimi didn't seem fresh. The only thing that was slightly better was the chicken thigh skewers.

It's been a while since I visited Kokura. I came to this place where I used to go with my former colleagues. It's still popular and crowded. We tried to call the waiter but they were busy. We ordered a course menu with salad, sashimi, seared tuna, grilled dishes, motsu nabe, and ice cream, and the food was excellent. It would be better if the service was a bit more efficient. Thank you for the meal. ☺️

I remembered when I was taken to this local restaurant before, so I decided to visit again. It was cold today, so I ordered a hot pot. There were many options, but I chose the local chicken hot pot. The soy sauce-based soup with local chicken was delicious. As you can see in the photo, the eggplant stands out, but surprisingly, the eggplant was delicious too!! It's a must-try dish.

Visited for the first time on the evening of January 14, 2021. I love the Ougai Street because there are many delicious and wonderful shops. One of them is Ginjiro Bekkan. The private room has a nice atmosphere and is very relaxing. I ordered a highball, octopus sashimi, salad with prosciutto, and the main dish, Nagoya Cochin sukiyaki. The octopus sashimi and salad that connect to the Nagoya Cochin I came for were delicious. I prefer the octopus to be boiled a little more, but it was good with a sweet taste. The pot that I had been waiting for makes a strong presence. The condiments and ponzu didn't come out, and the person who seemed to be the manager hurriedly brought them out. Oh! The chewy and firm texture is delicious. The broth is also quite good and I like it. It's not too light and has a good flavor. I enjoyed the caramel vanilla dessert. I would like to try a different menu next time.

Local residents made a reservation. The charcoal-grilled local chicken and fish were delicious, but the champion today was Saga beef tataki. It was incredibly delicious!

It had been a while since my last visit, but I noticed that the bustling area in Kokura Kita-ku now has three branches of this famous restaurant known for its soy sauce-based motsunabe (offal hot pot). We ordered the motsunabe for two, which had offal without any unpleasant odor, making it enjoyable even for those who are not fans of offal. We also had the delicious champon noodles for two, grilled chicken thighs that were so good we wished we had ordered a bigger portion, lemon shochu highball, and draft beer. The total bill was around 6000 yen. As a fan of soy sauce over tonkotsu, I found the motsunabe here to be particularly tasty. It is packed with garlic and red chili peppers. The service was a bit lacking, but since I am a regular customer, I can overlook it. However, first-time visitors may find it slightly off-putting. It seems like the restaurant relies on its loyal customers and may not pay as much attention to new ones.

When I travel to Kitakyushu, where I used to live until high school, it's a tradition for me to start the evening with beef tendon oden and beer at "Ootai" and then head over to this Ginjiro annex just a short walk away. In the past, I used to go to the sister restaurant Ginjiro across the street, but because it only has counter and tatami seating, I couldn't stay long due to my bad back. For the past few years, I have been using this annex instead. The first floor has about 8 counter seats and 3-4 private 4-person tables. The second floor has regular tables and a large sunken kotatsu banquet seat. Since I already had beer at Ootai, I start with a rock glass of sweet potato shochu "Akakiri Island". The appetizers are as follows: Jidori Tataki (available in small and large sizes, eaten with ponzu soy sauce, I order large) Jidori Yaki (available in small and large sizes, eaten with dashi soy sauce, I order large) Carpaccio (plenty of vegetables, but the dressing might be store-bought?) Whale Bacon (nostalgic... with spicy soy sauce) Wakamatsu Tomato (extremely sweet) After eating some, we order two servings of motsu nabe and finish with champon noodles. The motsu nabe is made with fresh motsu, plenty of cabbage and leeks, in a soy sauce broth. It's the classic taste and portion size that I remember from the past. The only downside this time was that the jidori yaki wasn't hot enough and the broth for the motsu nabe was too strong. So, the food rating is a bit low, but the service gets a high score because the female staff members were always smiling. In the end, I leave satisfied and full, heading back to the hotel. The cost performance is also not bad! If you want motsu nabe in Kitakyushu, this is the place to go!

Kitakyushu is around Kokura Station. Let's go eat motsunabe! That's how I ended up entering "Jidoriya Ginjiro Bekkan Kaname." As soon as I entered the restaurant, I noticed the lack of customers. It wasn't too late or too early, but there were hardly any customers. The staff kept coming out one after another. Anyway, I quickly looked at the menu and found that the prices were quite high. And then, the long-awaited motsunabe. I took a sip of the soup and was surprised. The broth was well-made, with a deep flavor. Motsunabe's deliciousness depends on the quality of the motsu as well as the taste of the broth, which I think contributes to about half of the deliciousness. The broth in this motsunabe was exceptionally delicious. The motsu itself was also exquisite, very tender and fresh with a hint of sweetness. In addition to motsunabe, they seemed to specialize in local chicken, so I ordered the grilled chicken thigh. The chicken, grilled quickly over high heat charcoal, was crispy and delicious. Unfortunately, the downside was the prices and the service. The inattentive staff chatted incessantly, which was quite off-putting. There were many Chinese staff members, and the service felt like a stereotypical Chinese style. It reminded me a bit of my time in Beijing. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and could be suitable for entertaining if the service level was better. As soon as I returned to my parents' house, I had a blissful time enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. I decided to go out for drinks with some acquaintances since I hadn't had any alcohol. The interior of the restaurant was quite stylish, with a counter and two private booth seats. They had a variety of specialty items on the menu, such as Saga beef tataki and Nagoya Cochin fried chicken, which were honestly delicious! However, both the tataki and fried chicken were priced at over 1500 yen each, which I found to be quite expensive. The quality of the ingredients, such as the local chicken, was good, but overall, the prices were high. The selection of sake was limited, with small bottles priced at 1500 yen each. Despite the high prices and the lack of variety in the sake selection, the food was delicious. The service was a bit lacking, as all the staff members were of Asian descent and seemed a bit indifferent. It felt like a rude awakening after the blissful meal I had just enjoyed, but the tasty food made the night enjoyable overall.

The taste was bad, the drinks were good, the customer service was terrible, but the atmosphere was nice at this restaurant. I visited for work this time. I made a reservation over the phone, but surprisingly it was a counter service (lol). The attitude of the staff was also strangely hostile. Trying to stay positive, I ordered the grilled chicken thigh, tataki, and grilled tongue with salt. The dishes were served in about 15 minutes. Hmm, disappointing. The chicken thigh tasted like it came from a vacuum pack, the tataki was more like grilled? or seared? Couldn't tell. The tongue was very thin, 5 slices, and grilled to a crispy texture like potato chips! Feeling let down, I left after 30 minutes. I probably won't be going back.

When I feel like eating motsunabe, I always come here. Well, everyone has their own likes and dislikes, especially when it comes to motsu... Ginjiro's motsu doesn't have a unique smell, and it's small and tender! I like that chewy texture of motsu that you can't quite bite through! For those who want to taste the flavor of motsu, it might not be the best place to go! So, is it a motsunabe that doesn't really taste like motsunabe? However, even though it's a restaurant that operates as a motsunabe place, the side menu is also extensive. I really don't like the smell of raw fish, but I can still eat sashimi. And the charcoal-grilled local chicken! It goes well with beer... I'm a beer lover, so this place is perfect for me with its strong seasoning. I recently started using Tabelog, and I feel like I've been to the main branch and this one at least 20 times. There is a private table for four in the back of the first floor, so if you prefer private rooms, it's best to make a reservation! There are also counter seats, private room-style tables, and tatami seating upstairs. Also, there are foreign employees, so the organization can be a bit slow... Sometimes they may sound a bit harsh, but I've gotten used to it. Please treat them with an open heart. The price is on the higher side, around 13,000 yen for two people because we drink alcohol, but since it's my favorite place, I don't mind. Thank you for the meal.

I made a mistake by asking the friendly staff at the free information center for a recommendation of a good restaurant in the area. They kindly guided me to a restaurant where I was asked if I had a reservation, which I didn't. I was seated at the counter and found the atmosphere to be decent, but the service was slow. The beer took a while to arrive, and the plum wine soda was more like water. The portion sizes of the dishes were small for the price, and even though I ordered the grilled beef tongue, it took a long time to be served. After waiting for about an hour, I decided to leave. The recommended menu item, chicken hot pot, was not as tasty as the one I had in Osaka. When it came time to pay, they realized the beef tongue hadn't been served and apologized, but I won't be going back there again.

I went with my colleagues from work. This restaurant is so famous in Kitakyushu for motsunabe that its name comes up first. The exterior and interior are quite clean and stylish, with a modern feel. It was around 8 PM on a weekend, but the atmosphere inside was relaxed. The first impression I got when entering the restaurant was that the staff seemed unfriendly...they just seemed very "sloppy" and gave off a "cold" vibe. We ordered momo-yaki, tataki, kawa-su, and motsunabe. The food itself was decently tasty, but the service really ruined everything. As others have mentioned, it's a shame because the interior is nice and has a good atmosphere. Maybe they're getting complacent because they're a well-known restaurant. I wish they would put more effort into their service (especially since they charge a decent price). It's really a waste.

An acquaintance who used to come here often over 15 years ago visited again after a long time, so I decided to stop by. I started with ordering a sashimi platter, which was really delicious. It had a taste that you can't find in similar izakayas in Osaka. While the other dishes were just average, many of them were on the pricier side. Finally, I tried the motsunabe (tripe hot pot), which was also delicious. I had never tried motsunabe before, but it was tastier than I had imagined, and I understand why this place is famous for it. Despite being a high-end restaurant in terms of customer spending, the level of service was disappointingly low. However, the sashimi platter and motsunabe were worth coming back for!

The restaurant was chosen by the other party. It is a long-established izakaya famous for charcoal-grilled local chicken. The exterior is new and clean, giving high expectations. I was told that even celebrities have visited. The interior is mainly white, creating a sense of cleanliness. I sat at the counter seat on the first floor overlooking the grilling area. I prefer hot food to be served hot. The high flames visible through the counter create the atmosphere of a charcoal-grilled local chicken restaurant. The charcoal-grilled local chicken served was the reason for my visit, but... it was very black... I understand that this type of food can be black and I have eaten it many times in Miyazaki and Fukuoka, but the meat pieces were too burnt, with a strong bitter taste overwhelming everything else, which was disappointing. (About half of it was in normal condition). Perhaps they were very busy that day. The other party was also disappointed as it was their first experience. The recommended motsu nabe was quite ordinary. I enjoyed the grilled chicken skin and the chicken karaage.
