I had used this izakaya before, but this time I came to eat. I ordered a simple ramen for 600 yen. I sat at the counter, and there was a part-time worker diligently skewering meat at the end. Thanks to this effort, delicious food is served! Thank you. Now, the ramen is served! The cloudy pork bone soup with wood ear mushrooms and chashu has a strong salty flavor and is delicious! I had lunch. The vegetable-loaded champon had thin noodles and a generous amount of vegetables, which made it very delicious. The mini fried rice was incredibly tasty, with a slightly dry texture. Today's lunch was in the vicinity of Nanakuma! I decided to visit this restaurant I found through a search on Tabelog. The reviews mentioned that the vegetable-filled "chanpon" is popular at this place. The interior of the restaurant has a counter, tables, and a spacious area towards the back. (According to Tabelog, there are 140 seats, so it's quite large.) After looking at the menu, I chose the following: - Ramen + half-size chicken rice bowl set (850 yen) After waiting for about 10 minutes, the set was served on the table. The ramen had a rich and creamy pork bone broth, with the flavor of pork bone seeping through. The chicken rice bowl, despite being a half-size, was quite large and satisfying. I started with the ramen. The broth was thick and creamy, with a nice layer of oil on top, bringing out the umami flavor of the pork bone. Adding garlic powder from the table enhanced the flavor even more. The noodles were thin and straight, providing a satisfying texture. The toppings included chashu pork, wood ear mushrooms, and green onions. The chicken rice bowl had slightly sweet sauce drizzled over the rice, with a generous portion of crispy chicken on top. The chicken had a crunchy coating and juicy meat. When paired with the ramen broth, it made the rice even more enjoyable. The meal was filling and delicious, leaving me completely satisfied. The vegetable stir-fry includes pork, fish cake, cabbage, onion, bean sprouts, carrots, and wood ear mushrooms among other ingredients. The soup is tonkotsu-based, offering a balanced richness and creaminess. It's a champon reminiscent of Jiro-style with plenty of vegetable stir-fry and medium-thick noodles. The fried chicken is a must-try in the Nanauma area near Fukuoka University. Many places offer fried chicken or fried chicken rice bowls. I tried the fried chicken set for an additional 200 yen, which came with three large pieces of delicious fried chicken. The regular seasoning is a Japanese-style garlic soy sauce. The tomato champon, priced at 800 yen, is a unique dish in the Nanauma area. The soup combines the acidity of fresh tomatoes with a tonkotsu base, resulting in a mildly acidic and creamy tomato broth with a hint of black pepper. It's a well-balanced flavor that exceeded my expectations. You can also add grilled cheese as an option. The ramen menu includes various options, with the basic ramen priced at 450 yen. In the evening, the izakaya offers yakitori, grilled chicken sashimi, fried chicken, and other dishes. You can still enjoy ramen and champon at night. They also offer takeout fried chicken bento boxes with different seasoning options like Japanese-style garlic soy sauce, sweet and spicy soy sauce, special mayo, and chicken salad. The chicken salad bento box looks too delicious in the photo. It seems like a popular choice for students and young people.

I had a vegetable-packed Champon. The soup was delicious and there were plenty of vegetables! There are also lots of snacks you can order with beer, so I want to try going at night next time. Champon is very filling and reasonably priced, which I think is great.

Newly opened #Ippoudo Sevenkuma Store {Jonan-ku, Fukuoka City} I visited Ippoudo Sevenkuma Store on October 8, 2020 (Thursday). It moved from Ropponmatsu on October 5. Located right in front of Nanakuma Station, in a competitive area with famous restaurants like Karakiya and Mujaki Yamamori Chanpon. I was a bit confused when I saw the signboard. Huh? It says both Ropponmatsu Store and Main Store. But I thought the Ropponmatsu store had closed? I asked and it seems that Sevenkuma Store is the official name. I ordered the famous Vegetable Mountain Chanpon @650 yen (tax included). What's interesting is that even though it's Chanpon, you can get a noodle refill with ramen noodles. Even more interesting is that they have a student discount menu for high school and college students. It's a unique feature being near Fukuoka University. Here comes the Vegetable Mountain Chanpon @650 yen (tax included). It certainly has a mountain of vegetables, but it doesn't quite compare to the famous Chomolungma Chanpon from nearby Watanabe. However, this one is cheaper, so it might be loved by Fukuoka University students! The soup is creamy, rich, and has a deep flavor. It's delicious. Pull out the chewy Chanpon noodles from the mountain of vegetables.
