【Revisit】Visited on August 14, 2013, after 18:30. This restaurant was discovered through "Kansai Niku Hon" (a guide to meat in Kansai). It had been almost 2 years and 11 months since my last visit.
Location: South of Temma Station, near the station, diagonally across from the famous curry restaurant called Rika Shokudo.
Ordered items and taste: Two people ordered the following items, totaling 10,820 yen for the bill, which came to 5,410 yen per person.
- Recommended 3 kinds of assorted raw meat for 1,500 yen: A combination of raw meats including thigh, tongue, and yukke. The meats were served with silver chopsticks specifically for raw foods, and we were advised to eat them within 5 minutes for their sterilizing effect. The dipping sauces included ponzu, soy-based sauce, and raw egg, which were all delicious.
- Upper tongue salt for 1,200 yen: Slightly thin but still tasty.
- Upper loin for 1,200 yen: Perfectly marbled and incredibly delicious, my favorite item of the day.
- Maruchou for 600 yen: Quite fatty, almost like eating internal fat (laughs).
- Hachinosu sandwich for 600 yen: Tasted like it was thawed.
- Dip hormone for 1,280 yen: A mix of techan, hachinosu, and senmai with onions. After grilling, it was served with a cold soup-like sauce.
- Wagyu lean loin for 780 yen: Ordered as the final item, lean with almost no marbling, perfect for finishing the meal.
- Kimchi assortment for 680 yen: A combination of radish, cucumber, and Chinese cabbage kimchi, with just the right amount of spiciness, a good appetizer.
- White rice small for 180 yen x 2
- Draft beer for 530 yen each x 2
- Oolong tea for 250 yen each x 2
Overall impression: This restaurant is directly operated by a butcher shop, and according to "Kansai Niku Hon," the owner is a true meat professional who sometimes goes to Nanko to assist with meat processing. A shop run by generations of meat professionals! My impression of the restaurant has significantly improved this time, especially with the primal cuts and raw meats being very good. (Considering that it was difficult to obtain fresh hormone at the time, this should be taken into account.) I look forward to visiting this restaurant first when craving yakiniku in the area!
