For dinner today, I had beef croquettes from a takeout-only Western-style side dish shop called Aba in Osaka, Nagase. The most popular beef croquette, which received a high score of 9 out of 10 from Hamachan of Downtown's "Gobugobu" show, is a slightly famous croquette. The shop has been around for over 40 years, starting from the days of the Super Trio. It's a familiar taste from childhood. Price: 100 yen per piece (as of May 14, 2022). Aba Western-style side dishes, 1-4-24 Omi-do, Higashi Osaka City, Osaka.

It had been a long time since I went to buy croquettes. My croquette roots are here ^ ^ I used to eat them a lot when I was little. Now the store has moved, and the price of croquettes has gone up ^^; Since the price wasn't written, I thought it might be around 80 yen, but it was 100 yen per piece! I've always thought this since I was little, but even though it's sweet, I somehow feel a bitterness. Is it the alcohol? Mirin? Sometimes I feel a bitterness even in other sweet snacks like chocolate pies, so I don't know what it is. But it was a crispy and delicious croquette ^ ^♪

<2nd visit in '18/2> As a memo... I passed by and decided to drop in. I ordered the following items (tax included): - Beef croquette (¥85) A lightly sweet croquette. Two or three should be easy to eat. There are also various other fried foods available. - Hamburg croquette (¥180) - Egg croquette (¥150) - White fish fry (¥200) - Tonkatsu (¥170) - One-bite cutlet (one serving) (¥300) - Squid fry (¥140)

<First Visit in July '17> Memo as a reminder... On a hot summer afternoon, I decided to visit this place that has been occasionally featured on TV shows. Despite passing by the front of the store many times, I never had the chance to park due to heavy traffic. However, I finally made it there while running errands in the area. The store closes at 5 pm and offers a variety of fried dishes that look like they could be great side dishes. The owner and what seemed to be his wife were managing the place. I purchased the following: - Croquette (¥85) So sweet! The combination of meat, onions, and the sweetness of potatoes really stands out. The freshly fried croquette had a crispy coating and amazing texture. Despite the scorching heat of summer, it was definitely worth visiting this place. I will definitely come back again.

Croquettes taste delicious because even though their shape may be large, the filling inside remains the same.

I thought it was a bento shop, but when I went there, it was a small shop run by an elderly couple specializing in side dishes. Their recommended croquettes are top-notch delicious. The minced cutlets and meatballs are also tasty, so next time I will go specifically to buy the simmered hamburg steak that I didn't buy this time.

Today is Mother's Day. Tea cakes and cakes are the usual gifts, but how about surprising her with croquettes? In my hometown of Kamishinjo, there used to be a supermarket called Trio-To about 20 years ago, and inside was a deli that my mom loved. She used to enjoy their croquettes. The store in Kamishinjo disappeared along with Trio-To, but the shop here in Higashi-Osaka originally started in Trio-To and has continued to operate even after Trio-To closed down. A few years ago, Hamachan from Downtown TV show mentioned that Nakamuraya's croquettes were a 10 out of 10, and this place was a 9 out of 10. Since then, there have been long lines here. I drove through the rain and parked in front of the shop. I bought 10 croquettes for 85 yen each. The car was filled with a sweet and fragrant smell during transport. When I arrived at my parents' house with my daughters, my mom was surprised to see the croquettes. She asked where I bought them, and I said from Higashi-Osaka. We all enjoyed the nostalgic croquettes together, and my mom confirmed that they tasted just like she remembered. It was a delicious and nostalgic experience.

Review score in November 2016: 3.18 points based on 10 reviews. When passing by this area for work, a colleague started talking about this place, asking, "Do you know about it?" It turns out that this place was featured on the now-defunct TV show "Gobugobu" (a street interview show with Hamada from Downtown and Kohji Tamura). Hamada himself mentioned that the best croquette he had ever tasted was from "Nakamuraya," and they had a segment where they rated other croquettes on a scale of 10 points. When Hamada gave Nakamuraya a rating of 9 points, it caused a huge traffic jam in front of the store for a while! Although I have no clue about croquette flavors like Hamada, I decided to buy one. The croquette costs 85 yen, and it has a sweet potato flavor, which I found delicious. The handmade feel of the store is impressive. I also tried their pork skewer for 85 yen, which was cheap and tasty, especially considering the light oiliness. Overall, the store offers a variety of delicious homemade side dishes. The pork skewer was a delightful treat.

Croquettes Croquettes have plenty of fluffy potatoes with a hint of sweetness and are incredibly delicious. It's also nice that there is a generous amount of minced meat in them. They are so delicious that you could eat as many as you want. Minced Cutlet Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, with a rich meaty flavor. It's easy to eat and delicious, even though the minced meat isn't tightly packed. Egg Croquette I apologize for the messy photo of the cut-in-half croquette. It is made by covering boiled egg with croquette filling and frying it. It is voluminous and delicious. Cream Vegetable Croquette It contains finely chopped vegetables and has a creamy and flavorful taste. The cream inside is incredibly delicious! The shop is an old-fashioned deli that brings back nostalgic feelings. The interior is small, with only enough space for 2-3 people. It's like a paradise for me, as I love fried food. There are various types of croquettes available. The prices are reasonable, making it easy to buy a variety of items. I wish there was a shop like this near my home. The staff are friendly and welcoming. I will definitely visit again when I'm in the area.

I had always been curious about Nakamuraya's croquettes, which were highly praised by Downtown's Hamada-san on the Kansai TV show "Gobugobu." After the initial broadcast, there was a lot of buzz and the croquettes were temporarily unavailable for online purchase. The store location was also not easily accessible for me. Several months later, I remembered to check the online store and found that they were back in stock. I hesitated but ended up purchasing an 80-piece set of beef croquettes (raw) with the highest discount rate. When they arrived, I was amazed by the amount of croquettes covered in breadcrumbs. I packed them in ziplock bags and stored them in the freezer. I regretted buying so many, but when I tried them, I found them delicious with a strong sweetness that didn't need any condiments. Even though I worried about getting tired of them, I enjoyed eating them every day. However, I realized that eating fried food daily might not be good for my health, so I plan to pace myself and savor them slowly once my freezer stock decreases. Alternatively, sharing the purchase with others might be a good idea. If you love croquettes, even if you're far away, this is a chance to try them out. I recommend giving them a try!

While walking around in Higashi-Osaka, I suddenly remembered Aba-san ♡ The croquettes here have a nostalgic taste, but then a sweetness spreads in your mouth, making it extremely delicious ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ And the price is very reasonable, around 70 yen each, but students can get a discount with their student ID, making it 51 yen, yay for students ( ^ω^ )♪ The owner here is very friendly and easy to talk to, leaving a great impression♪( ´▽`) Also, these croquettes are better as a snack rather than for dinner, and there's a park nearby where you can enjoy them ( ̄^ ̄)ゞ Even if you take them home, the crispy texture remains, so it's great ( ̄▽ ̄)♪ I'm lucky to have found this good shop☆彡 I will definitely come back for some snacks♪( ´▽`) Thank you for the meal〜ヾ(@⌒ー⌒@)ノ

[Neighborhood Environment & Store Environment] This shop is located about a 10-minute walk east from Kintetsu Osaka Line Nagase Station. There is no parking lot at the store. Please use nearby coin parking. Nagase is located on a street south of the famous Kondai Street. Will you be able to find it... (lol) It became somewhat famous after being featured on a certain TV show. At one point, there were quantity restrictions and grandmothers were frying at a speed never seen before... It was unforgettable... Sorry, I lied <m(__)m> The store specializes in takeout. The lineup mainly consists of standard fried items. The landmark is Kinki University... probably. [What I Ate This Time] - Croquette: It was around 70 yen. This takeout-only delicatessen shop is famous for its croquettes that concentrate and maximize the sweetness of potatoes. The thin batter and crispy outer layer are impressive. Personally, I like the croquettes, but I prefer the minced meat croquettes. The juiciness oozing out is perfect for rice or sandwiching between rolls. Depending on the time of day, they may not be freshly fried, but if you ask, this friendly local shop will accommodate.

At the end of last month, a new episode of "Gobugobu" featuring Downtown's Hamachan and Yukiji Higashino's spontaneous trip was broadcasted. In that episode, they introduced the "Croquette - Higashiosaka Edition" from Nakamuraya, which Hamachan personally considers the pinnacle of croquettes. He rated this shop a 9 out of 10. The day after the broadcast, and the day after that, there was a huge traffic jam in front of the shop with even the police coming to manage the traffic. Two weeks later, when I visited, there was still a long line, mainly consisting of students from the nearby Kinki University. The father was diligently frying croquettes one after another. Although the shop primarily sells croquettes, due to the overwhelming demand, they only had croquettes available. Despite the busy atmosphere, the mother was very friendly when I spoke to her. I enjoyed chatting with her. I went to a nearby park to eat and take photos of the croquettes. The croquettes were quite large with a thick texture, and the taste of the sweet potato was prominent. However, the savory flavor of the croquette eventually came through, along with a crispy texture. The taste was similar to Nakamuraya, and I might even prefer it. The next day, when I reheated and ate the croquettes, the delicious sweet potato flavor was still present, and the thickness of the croquette made it a substantial side dish. Although the crispy texture was lost when reheated, it was still delicious. The white fish fry for 126 yen and the egg croquette for 126 yen were also tasty. The addition of egg in the croquette added a nice touch and changed the texture, making it surprisingly enjoyable. Overall, I was satisfied with my meal. Thank you for the delicious food.

I have known Trio since it was in operation. The croquettes are priced at 73 yen each. The most expensive fried item, other than those served in a dish, is the crab croquette at 189 yen. It's budget-friendly, right? My favorite is the croquette and vegetable cream. The croquette has a simple and slightly sweet filling made of potatoes, onions, and beef. I used to enjoy it not only with rice but also as a snack. So, for me, when it comes to croquettes, it's the taste of Ava's croquettes. When I tried croquettes from other shops that weren't sweet, it was shocking. The vegetable cream has a cream sauce similar to gratin with vegetables like carrots, making it like a certain fast food chain's gratin if you put it between bread. Towards closing time, they sell an assortment of fried foods for 200 yen, making it even more of a bargain. When you spend 500 yen, they let you draw a pair of chopsticks, and they cheer you on, saying, "If you get one with a red mark, it's a big win!" Their personality is heartwarming. They also have side dishes besides fried foods. The taste has not changed and it was delicious. Thank you for the meal. *Additional note: In the episode of "Gobugobu" aired on January 30, 2013, Hamada from Downtown praised Ava's croquettes with a score of 9 out of 10, saying, "If Nakamuraya's croquettes are a 10, Ava's croquettes are a 9."

I haven't eaten here in a long time, but I still believe in that taste and decided to post. I have been using this shop for over 20 years. It used to be inside the Toriotto shop, but it moved when it closed and now has its current location. I haven't eaten here in about 10 years, but I recently thought about trying it again when I return to Osaka. The croquettes here have a lot of minced meat in them and are quite sweet. The Scotch eggs are also recommended. The simmered hamburg steak with a tangy sauce goes well with rice. The older lady and gentleman would fry them in front of you, and I used to eat here often for lunch or after school. It's a taste that I can't forget.

The croquettes here were quite sweet and had a strong crunchiness. They weren't freshly fried, but they didn't feel greasy. It was said that there would be long lines since it was featured on TV, but when I went there, there were no customers. It seems like I had good timing. The service felt nostalgic, like they've been doing it for a long time. The price was around 70 yen (I don't remember exactly), but they were big and made for a good snack. I will definitely go back to buy some if I'm in the area again. Thank you for the meal.

The freshly fried croquettes here are so delicious that we eat them without any sauce at home. It's a small shop that only offers takeout. At the end of the month, they have a "Abacollo Festival" where you can buy croquettes at a discount for about 5 days with coupons that are included in the newspaper. Even if you don't have a coupon, they have some at the shop so it's okay. During lunchtime or after 5 pm, there can be a crowd of shoppers in front of the shop. Since there is no sidewalk in front and the road is right there, it can be dangerous especially with children, so please be careful. There is no parking lot or bicycle parking. They are closed on Tuesdays. They are open until around 7 pm in the evening.

In a quiet corner of a charming old town near Kindai University in Higashi-Osaka City, there is a delicatessen shop that was once featured on a TV show called "Gobugobu" and highly praised by Hamachan from Downtown for their beef croquettes. I went to buy them and found out that they are now priced at 120 yen each due to the rising cost of ingredients. However, for the generous size and thickness of the croquette, 120 yen is quite a bargain! I reheated it in the oven at home and enjoyed the sweet and crispy taste of the sweet potatoes. Although I didn't feel much meat texture, it reminded me of the nostalgic taste from my childhood. I also tried their potato salad, pork skewers, and meatballs, all of which were delicious and reflected the kindness of the shop owner. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I visited a general store that I had heard about when I stopped by a yakiniku restaurant nearby. It was my first visit. I remembered this place as being famous for receiving the second highest score on TV show "Gobugobu" after Nakamuraya's croquette. I never expected to find it here. As a general store, they offer a variety of side dishes, mainly fried foods like croquettes, meatballs, egg rolls, and salads. This time, I bought the croquette and meatballs in the photo. The photo may not look very appetizing, but the croquette is sweet and more like a snack than a meal. You can take it home or even order it for delivery.
